I’ll never understand why anyone would want a colored phone. A case covers it all the time anyways. I forget my 13 pro max is graphite all the time Cus its always in a black case.
I don't understand why people use coloured cases.

It hides a nice looking device.

I always use clear cases, from Apple.

I could years ago I felt that way and now my iPad is USB C, my drone, my camera, my quest 2. Pretty much anything i charge except the stupid apple mouse and keyboard they’ve also failed to update.
I mean I have some USB-C cables, obviously, but only 2 Apple ones!

I just went from a 7 to a hand-me-down XS Max in December.

I love the zoom lens so if I upgrade I’d have to get a Pro model, and frankly, I don’t think it’s worth it yet.

The jump from a 128 GB iPhone 7 to a 256 GB XS Max was greater than a XS Max to a 13 or 14 series, IMO.

Apples cases are crazy overpriced and not particularly high quality or protective. I had a clear case for awhile but if it gets scratched up or gets moisture and stuff inside it it just looks rough. I got a nicely textused black spigen case and its lasted for years.

I still can’t believe my 13 Pro is going to be two years old in September. Time flies. The battery life has held up really well and the phone is plenty fast. Realistically, the 15 Pro doesn’t seem like a direct upgrade to the 13 Pro. I’d imagine the 16 Pro will be in 2024 with its supposed periscope lenses on the 6.3” and 6.9” models. That’s the one to wait for, in my opinion.

Think of how much money you could save on needless upgrades.

Needless for you, perhaps, but not necessarily for others.

Don't come for me on better photos and videos. Seriously, we have photo albums from 50 years ago and we hardly complain. Photos taken on an iPhone 4s still look darn good.

Photos on iPhone 13/14 look way better still, especially under less-than optimal conditions (lighting, distance etc).

If I’d take your line of arguments, then why bother with smartphone cameras in the first place? We had SLR devices for many years before, making better pictures than those el cheapo cameras in that gimmicky smartphones.

You’re fine with your iPhone X and that is perfectly okay. But I disagree with you in talking down the quite significant improvements in the current iPhone generation vs iPhone X.

As the article stated (imho correctly): The improvements may look marginal generation-over-generation, but the surely add up over the years.

Some people see added value and are willing to pay for it (while not arguing that Apple commands a significant premium for their products).

The iPhone 15 Pro Max or Ultra, whatever it is called, is going to be an instant buy for me. Titanium, bigger battery, bigger display, USB-C, always on display, and Dynamic Island will make the phone feel a bit different. Camera upgrades are always welcome too.

based on this list you should upgrade to the 14 as the 15 features seem laughable
Why is it important to justify an upgrade on this forum?

Seriously if a consumer wants to upgrade only their terms will justify one not some article on comparing specs as most consumers don’t even give a hoot or understand them. Most consumers care about is oh it takes out better pictures that’s nice (won’t even notice it tbh), longer battery life, storage space and price.

The rest is fluff by any manufacturer to pad spec sheets for ego and a minority of nerds who feel a phones specs is more important than living life. 😝
