No, you should say that. I wish there was a possibility to disable microphone and webcam on Macs as well. I wish iPhones would have a feature to password protect your photos & other files.
I also have to agree with others. My Android has always-on-display and it kind of blows. Yes, it's all black and yes the icons are black and white, but ... You can still see it when you open your eyes in the middle of the night.
Yes, I should. You need to understand that a lot of people dont need or want what you need or want. So you cant say one device is worse than other because of the amount of features.
I dont mind AOD at all, for example. i simply don't need it. Also don't need multitasking in my phone. And a large etc of features I’m sure you see a must have, and i might consider irrelevant.
Some people also prefer simplicity, other prioritize versatility. But hey, there is a huge market out there to satisfy everyone. So i do not try to convince others that my preferences are better than their.

Thats good. Im also a windows user. However, i will never say my pc is better than my MacBook because has more features. Are different devices oriented for different kind of people or different tasks, just it.

I'll say it. Experience on $500 Lenovo Yoga 6 is better than my Macbook Air M1 which is so buggy I'm using it less and market value is so low that it's better to hang on to it than sell it. Best hardware goes to Surface Pro X but wouldn't suggest paying full MSRP for it. Got mine for below MSRP so definitely worth it.

I'm no expert but isn't astro about the hardest thing you can demand of a camera given the need for large sensor and incredible stability? How to accomplish that?
They’ve already got it. This would just be tweaking some settings and making some settings automatic.

iPhone 11 Pro

These yearly iPhone updates are really getting boring. Great, a screen that's always on 😔. I have no need for that. What I want is to finally breakaway to something new. How about we drop the need for a phone completely? Why can't my watch be my connection while out and about? And I'm not talking about just LTE. I want a watch I can buy with no need for a phone to use. I thought all this technology was going to make life simpler and easier but instead it gives companies a continued source of income. Maybe if Apple wasn't making so much money off each yearly iPhone release they would finally create the next big step?

And still has a better operating system and user experience than the completion. 😊😎

Android has been behind since the first iPhone was released and they’re still nowhere near to being as good as iOS.

No point rushing something when it’s not ready, apple releases features when they’re ready to be released properly. 😁

There is another point, Apple drives volume. Some of the latest tech just aren't capable of producing 100M unit annually. And Apple mostly dont take gamble with Supply Chain.

120hz display - 18 months behind the competition.

Always on display - 5 years behind the competition

Portrait mode videos - 2 years behind the competition

Under display finger print sensor - 3 years behind the competition
And look at all the products you own? I think you need to switch team.

You are, again, watching things through your techie eyes. We are in different worlds 😄

AoD on the phone isn't necessary for me, since I wear my watch all the time. I know many here will waste no time with a day one purchase just for that feature. I doubt Promotion would be offered with the mini. I can't see it being useful on a phone anyway.

I have had an Android with always on display for a while now and really enjoy it. Glad to see the iPhone getting it. I honestly had just assumed you already had it since it seems like a no brainer but it is a good QOL feature.

I welcome this. My only phone with always on is a Pixel 3 and it is a feature I really wish my iPhones had. Display on that phone has held up well, battery life is still decent for the age of the device.

That phone is starting to show its age and with Google continuing to drop / change services I like & use, Android is much less of a daily driver for me these days.

For someone who has used iphone 1-7, then switched to pixel 2, 3, and than 4 and now I am back to iphone 12 mini because I wanted the smaller form factor, I will say, Android on Pixel is as good or better than iOS. iOS keyboard is probably better, but iOS gestures are all over the place, sometimes its up, sometimes left for back, its really frustrating.

I really miss the always on screen.

I really miss things like spotify being able to offline files in the background.. and the battery on pixel was great. iOS's inability to do anything in the background is crazy annoying. Especially things like keep SSH sessions open when using an iPad.

iOS has so many little things too with access, like just more clicks to access various settings, etc.

iOS has a couple of nice features, on demand VPN stuff is great, combined with Wireguard and fast fiber home connection.

I'll probably stick with iPhone for 1 or 2 more releases and give it a full go again before making any crazy judgements, but to say Android lacks is ignorant and sounds like you never really used it. Because largely, the OSes have converged and very similar, with only "edge" features making them any different. And even those are converging now. Which probably makes sense now that smart phones are over 10 years old and crazy popular human things.

LOL. Apple does not have a track record is waiting until something is ready.. HAHHAHAHA. None of the phone makers do that. Get real. Come on. HAHAHA.

120Hz ProMotion, better battery, better camera would make me buy an iPhone 13. Apple shafting iPhone 12 buyers hehe :). Still using an iPhone 7 Plus. I also have an iPad Pro 11 2nd gen with 120Hz display and you can definitely see the difference.

I agree. iOS is better for junior or grandparents since it's very basic. Being able to place specific icons anywhere on the home screen, split screen multitasking, DeX, pen input, etc. would be too confusing.
Guessing the record breaking iPhones sales during a pandemic were all juniors and grandparents. DeX 🤦‍♂️😂 split screen on a mobile phone, no thanks 🤦‍♂️

If you want cutting edge, you don't go with an iphone. That's a known fact.

Apple probably has been waiting for LTPO capability for OLED like what is used on the Apple Watch. Could be that LTPO, for larger OLED panels, was not available or matured enough to be used by Apple. Samsung only started using LTPO OLED last year on the Note Ultra. Apple was not going to put Always-On Display and 120 Hz refresh rate without LTPO. The other thing to consider, maybe Samsung could not produce the quality in such large quantity to meet Apple’s requirement last year and that could be why it was not used in the Apple 12.

I think this is right.

Apple obsesses over battery---I can't imagine they'd want to tinker with something that could cause a hardware and software battery issue unless they were confident they had ideal parts and tech at the correct cost.

Most iPhone users would give you a blank stare if you said "120 Hz," anyway, so it's not like this is a painful wait for APPLE and the REST OF THE PUBLIC.

We're the only people who obsess over these things, so it's been painful for us.

I mean, FaceID was advanced. Nobody had FaceId that could authenticate a payment (not to my knowledge, anyway).

Also, which smartphone manufacturers were using capacitive touchscreens in 2007 on a display that (relatively) large?

I think they were reasonably first for high DPI screens as well.

I think your general sentiment is probably accurate, but note a lot of that "cutting edge" tech is trash. Remember the Galaxy 4, where you could just scroll a webpage with your eyes?

I was merely making an observation. It seems that people get upset over simple facts. Maybe we can all just shout fake news.
Don’t you think it’s odd that from owning various Apple products you know better than anyone else why you‘d buy Apple over competitors.

The always on display should show the time, date, weather conditions, and speed limit of road I’m driving on

What if I disagree with you and say that Android is way better?
There's no point arguing with you, because the fact is that Android is better, has more features and more freedom than iOS.
Samsung has had always on display forever and it has worked very well. If I had to choose whether I'd get iPhone SE (which is outdated by it's design) or Samsung at the same price point I'd get Samsung.

Apple has often always stayed behind and copied features from Android. iPhones even have way worse batteries than most Android phones.
Then you woke up😂 android is🤮
