How about something revolutionary and interesting like Siri, or the app store? Kinda tired about the whole, better camera, better screen, smaller notch, more RAM articles--like half a decade ago.
The iPhone camera is Apples targeted focal point for marketing. Ever since the iPhone X, they have really pin-pointed the iPhone camera being the main highlight every year, and that’s partially because of all the technological advances with Animoji, macro-mode, etc.

Do you know what I see when visiting the likes of a Verizon store? Consumers are comparing photos with their current iPhone with the latest iPhone, why? Because Apple knows average consumers are not interested in features they don’t understand, like RAM, or A-series processors.

If Apple wants to maximize sales, they have to maximize the marketing that sells the iPhone, which is the camera. That’s why we see so many articles that really focus on what Apple is pushing for Camera technology.

The amount of noise will be interesting. Apple will need a 1“ sensor at least - or maybe the megapixels are only „virtual“, achieved using three sensors.

But this would be an interesting update, if the pro finally features an USB-C port.

Pretty sure that 48MP was the rumour for the iPhone 12... and again for the iPhone 13.

Might as well claim it has under screen TouchID whilst they're at it.

I’d rather get 4K 120fps over 8k, who has a 8k screen?
I think 8k is ire for feasibility in the edit, if you render to 4k you can do a 4x digital zoom at that stage and still have a 1:1 ratio berween the sorce material an the final redrso no artefacts what so ever ( well appart from the podsible compression artifacts in the input file ofc)

Not the video , the 48 mega pixel camera , tbh that’s ridiculous , is it really necessary to leap from 12 to 48 ?

Shouldn’t they be concentrating on things like the fast aperture than megapixels ?

Will we see dramatic improvements ? I doubt it .

I've been waiting for an iPhone mini done right, which is why I don't own one yet. The latest one doesn't have enough battery life and the camera bump is just a monstrosity compared to the phone's size. I was hoping with the 14 series Apple would have worked it out, but this rumor doesn't even mention the existence of a mini :-(.
I have a 13 mini and I almost didn’t get it because the camera is not as good as the pro. I think if they made a pro mini it would sell more. Ps everyone who sees the mini ( in my family ) wants one.

Nice, hopefully by the 15 or 16 we'll see a good bouquet of improvements throughout for those upgrading from 11 or 12's.

Even though I've had my 12 for a year, I can't see why I would need to get a new one. I've never felt this about a phone, it genuinely feels the same as it did day 1.

Unless the new models come with 2TB or 3TB of storage, having a iphone capable of 8K video is pointless because taking videos in 8K will take up a huge amount of storage space.

I really wanted the 12 mini but ended up going with the 12 Pro bc I wanted the best camera. This year, I decided that I still wanted a small phone and realized I hardly ever used the telephoto lens so I traded my 12 Pro in for a 13 mini. Very happy with my decision so far. Everyone who sees mine immediately wants one. Replacing 3 iPhones in my household alone this Christmas with the 13 mini. I think they would’ve sold more of the mini if people were able to see them in the stores but COVID prevented that for a while. Also, if it was a pro mini, I am willing to bet Apple would’ve sold so many more units and would’ve reconsidered discontinuing the small form factor next year.

Apple, just put the 64 GB M1 Pro Max on the next iPhone without the fan. :p

OK

To add context, this "Jeff Pu" has like 50% accuracy when it comes to leaks.

If they want to make the 14 pro a pro phone give us USB-C or better yet TB3/4 with the ability to use it as an external 8k recorder for a camera. I would love to have a extra 1-2 TB in my pocket that I can quickly backup my images to and/or use as an external recorder.

48mp is honestly useless with that sensor size, and so is 8k. most people still struggle to edit 4k, and basically nobody has an 8k monitor.

i can see 16mp sensor
some made up AI image processing that only the iphone 14 chip can handle (but really an X can)
8gb ram (more ram to do nothing with of course)
maybe go up to 2tb
holepunch (be interesting to see how this goes with face Id)

Higher numbers = better
Same for games. No native 4K and 60 FPS, no good graphics.
That’s how the internet works.
