Bizarre experience for me this year. I’m usually there straight away struggling to get get an order minutes after they open… refresh, refresh, refresh…
this year I forgot - eek!
50 minutes later, went straight to my saved order and proceeded to purchase. Launch day blue titanium ready to pick up on launch day - Queensland Australia. The smoothest experience yet.

This was me. Got my order placed and done by 8:07, but my partner was still getting the coming soon screen after 45 minutes. Did it on desktop instead and went through right away.
Both the easiest and most difficult preorder yet for me.
After finally getting into the store the date already slipped a week. Then i selected the options and put it into the cart and it slipped another week. Then i doubted for a few mins and another week added and so i decided to not to buy one for now.
Eh, was driving into work and remembered I could start ordering.
Arrived, ordered wife's 15 Pro white, with delivery next Friday.
My 15 Pro Max white is showing October 9-16, and if Apple is like it has been in the past with me, I'll get it closer to the 9th than the 16th.

Dang, sorry to hear that. I honestly thought my internet connection was acting up again. I ran into issues still when trying to order the case and wallet afterwards where the product page did not load then the add to bag was grayed out.
Yeah I definitely agree on that. Someone at HQ, whomever handles online retail whether software, services or the retail department, is waking up to a fine ass chewing to head into the weekend.

Managed to get a 128GB Pro in Blue by 1:01pm by doing the 'prepare to order option' in the week. Managed to get a 256GB Pro in blue for my sister 5 minutes later.
I did find that access to the store cam up on the App instantly whereas on my browser it took at least 4 minutes for the store to come back up.
All pretty smooth for me in the UK.

Carriers won’t let you get the unlocked paid in full. They want you to sign up for a 2 or sometimes 3 year plan.
I had my Pro Max ordered by 5:07am, the whole process went super smooth this year, I guess I beat the rush...
What a waste of time. Did the check out process last night and by the time it started working this morning dates had already slipped.
You're on an American website, where most people use American date order.
What a dismal joke Apple plays on its customers with each and every iPhone release! What does doing pre-order work to ease the order day delay really do for you? 🤔 Nothing! After an extended wait to get into the store App, there is nothing there and I had to start over. The App even kicked me out a few times. After finally getting back to an actual order page and starting all over, the delivery date had slipped to the middle of October. Glad I got up at 4:45am for this! 😉😂
Store didn't opened for me until 28 minutes after pre-orders started and then it timed out two times before letting me order. Pushed my shipping date into the second week of October, I even did the pre-qualify stuff for the iPhone upgrade program for "faster pre-ordering". They have been doing this for over a decade now, I don't understand how it keeps getting worse every year.
Unlocked phone = freedom from day 1
edited to add: it's great to see that Apple allows purchasing unlocked phones right away these days, it wasn't that long ago that you had to wait a week or even more for the unlocked version to become available. apple is bending less and less to carrier demands, probably while still catering to them in some ways behind the scenes.

Yep. You are at the mercy of UPS and the delivery requires a signature, at least it used to. Last year I got home from work late and found a Sorry We Missed You sticker on my door. It was a nightmare from there. It said they "might" try tomorrow but for best results go to the UPS delivery center to pick up delivery. So I went there and there were over 50 folks waiting for phones that had missed deliveries. They had two people working to check you in and then you had to wait for the driver who had your phone to get to the the delivery center from his normal route, check in and get the packages off his truck. Needless to say 90 minutes waiting AFTER the driver got back to the center. Never again.
So much for it being a flop

store was the worst experience since a long time... first you got a blocker page 20minutes and after that pro max were already on October...
the only thing which I could get for launch day was a normal pro for my wife..
app was unusable... just crashing as soon you clicked "buy"
