Just awesome.

Each buyer of a new iPhone gets $200 poorer.

Every buyer gives $200 to the richest company in the planet. (ok maybe the 2nd most valuable company, I don't know for sure).

And yet there are people who think this is a nice thing.

I don't think anyone here is saying that. I suspect many people here do understand how inflation works for both Apple as a company that develops and manufactures high-end tech products, and Apple's 160,000+ employees that need better salary and benefits.

Would you be OK if Apple didn't give salary and benefits raises to their employees? Or require them to work in substandard work enviornoments? Or, if Apple decided to sell less powerful computers/iPhones/iPads/Watches/etc. All so you could pay a lower price for Apple products?

Folks, they’re preparing your minds to be comfortable with these figures. Although initially unfathomable - with repetition - wild propaganda, theories, ideas, etc. sometimes become easier to accept. The same way Apple know they can count on analysts and rumours to soften wild prices with time before they get announced.

exactly, which allows for more profit

everything is about profit

The fact is that if Apple’s gonna make money off this so be it. If you don’t want it you just don’t buy the phone I’m not being rude but that’s just the way it is like it or not. For many years I bought Apple products. Then having a Acquired Apple stock is just icing on the cake for me. Don’t shoot the messenger. Companies make money and if you don’t like it you move on. I’m not being rude or sarcastic I’m being realistic. It’s like if you don’t like a company you just don’t buy the products regardless if they’re popular or not. Just seen in the way it is without being rude.

I said half, not all, please don't be intellectually dishonest like the other guy and put words out there I never said.

Fine, I'll throw you a bone. They already have a vast supply chain and inventory of USB-C cables, ya know, from 5+ years ago when the Mac and iPad made the switch, just like the iPhone should have?

Grab a cable from that supply and it goes in the box rather than the wasteful, environmentally irresponsible and proprietary Lightning cable.

I'll say it slowly... Cost... Them... Nothing.

As for the last sentence, I will double down and stand by every word of it in the context of his post.

Apple sold 225.30 million iPhones last year.

"grab a cable from that supply" LOL yeah Apple is sitting on hundreds and millions of USB-C cables.

This is crazy. They’re the most profitable company in the entire history of the known universe.

If they wanna choose to Nickel and dime me, I’m going to choose a competitor. Maybe this year is finally the year I get a Pixel

Not crazy, it has always been like this.

You think you got 5GB of free iCloud storage? Nope, that's built into the cost of the life of the device. Sure you can keep a device for 10 years and ignore software updates, but most people upgrade regularly.

you basically boiled down all of the world's problems in to one line

well done!

(now imagine not acceptin that that is how everything has to be.....)

Most publicly traded companies won't allow it any other way.

Please explain how wanting right to repair, usb-c, and sideloading passes on costs to the consumer. I'd love to hear the answer to this.

Already explained: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...st.2396991/page-5?post=32343238#post-32343238

Also, Apple gets sued by dozens upon dozens of people every year, this is noting new to any massive corporation like they are.

Not the point I made. I'm talking about people like on these forums asking for more lawsuits.

Your reasons above seem more like you want to justify a price increase.

If you didn't know that's how publicly traded companies run, well then this should have been very informative for you.

Charge $2,000 for all I care, I have the 14 Pro and only update every two years, so as long as the 16 Pro isn't more than $999 for the base model I don't mind what they charge for the 15 Pro.

Sheeeesh! iPhone 15 Pro Max going up $200.00?

It better have all the most advanced features and the best battery life a smartphone can offer in today's world. Personally, I think iPhone 15 Pro Max will start at $1,199, not $1,299.
And it still won’t be worth squat when traded in via Apple. Well, not squat, but you know what I mean. 📉

Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models will likely be more expensive than the current models, according to Tim Long, an analyst at British bank Barclays. Long said this information is based on conversations with supply chain companies in Asia.

In a research note this month, obtained by MacRumors, Long said he expects the iPhone 15 Pro to cost up to $100 more than the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max to be $100 to $200 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. He believes pricing will remain similar for the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models.

Based on Long's estimates, pricing for the iPhone 15 lineup in the U.S. could be as follows:
  • iPhone 15: $799 (unchanged)
  • iPhone 15 Plus: $899 (unchanged)
  • iPhone 15 Pro: Up to $1,099 (vs. $999 now)
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: Up to $1,299 (vs. $1,099 now)
Rumors suggest the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature an upgraded Telephoto lens with periscope technology that enables up to 5-6x zoom without blur, compared to 3x on iPhone 14 Pro models. This feature is not expected to be available on the smaller iPhone 15 Pro this year, which could contribute to the Pro Max seeing a bigger price increase. Long believes the periscope lens will add around $50 to the iPhone 15 Pro Max's bill of materials.

Price estimates for future iPhones should always be treated with some skepticism, as they are merely educated guesses and are not always correct. For example, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted price increases for the iPhone 14 Pro models last year, but the devices ended up having the same prices as the previous generation.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15 lineup in September, despite reports of a temporary display-related manufacturing issue for the Pro models. Other rumored features for the Pro models include a USB-C port, titanium frame, customizable Action button, faster A17 Bionic chip, thinner bezels around the display, Wi-Fi 6E support, increased RAM, upgraded Ultra Wideband chip, and more, so all of the new features coupled with inflationary pressures could warrant price hikes. It would be the first price increase for the high-end iPhone models since the iPhone X and iPhone XS Max, which started at $999 and $1,099, respectively.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg's Debby Wu and Takashi Mochizuki reported that Apple was considering raising the prices of the iPhone 15 Pro models by an unspecified amount, so multiple sources have reported this possibility. We'll find out for sure when Apple unveils the iPhone 15 lineup in just a few months from now.

LOL : ) I'll keep my IP 14 Pro Max. 15PM doesn't seem like a major upgrade. My IP14PM It's treating me extremely well. Might look at the 16PM.

The ideal price would be

1. Iphone SE: $329(or even discontinue the SE)
2. Iphone 14: $499 or $549
3. Iphone 15= $799
4. Iphone Plus- $899
5. Iphone Pro- 1099
6. Iphone pro max- $1199

I honestly don't get why there is a base and a plus model iphone(the mini and the standard made more sense...the pro and pro max mostly make sense).

Then again now that we have the standard and plus models now...stop selling the 14 altogether and just bring the price of the 15 standard down.

1. Iphone Se- 329-379
2. Iphone 15- 599-699
3. Iphone plus- 699 or 799
4. Iphone Pro- 899-999
5. Iphone Pro Max- 1099-1199

This both gives apple a phone to compete in the lower end as well as pricing it almost better than it's competition in the mid and high end.

Sadly inevitable, with the rising costs of everything, which is why I'll just stick with my 13 Pro 😊

It will have a much better telephoto lens than the pro, in which case unlikely to be the same increase as the Pro, I actually think the difference should be more considering what you get in comparison

We pay higher price for a few reasons … customers don’t renew their iPhone as often as they did (every 3 years in average now) and fragmentation of the line is also resulting in selling less per category. You have also the tremendous effort on sustainability and the general economy on supplies. Cook is not having a thought on customers and won’t take the hit on financial results. It is what it is and they better reconsider …
