Aluminum sides are extremely slippery and they should absolutely never go back to it.

If you want a lighter phone get the non-pros and they have aluminum sides.

You absolutely did NOT get a ‘cyst’ on your wrist from using a ‘heavy’ phone. That’s comical you think that

Eh my Samsung Galaxy from work isn’t any more or less slippery than my 12 PM.

Well that’s what the hospital that. It is actually called „Ganglion“. It might have come from something else initially but it always got worse in specific scenarios. I had it for years come and go it it always got worse when I rode my bike for a day (too much pressure on my wrists) or yes being on my phone 24/7. Another thing is playing too much Nintendo Switch. Kills my wrist

Apple iPhone 16 rumored to have even Curvier Bezels

It’s called iPhone 15 Ultra for a reason…like Ultra (insert feature/price).

Excellent! I’m ready for a design change on an iPhone. Still believe the iPhone XS was one of the best curvy designs yet. Hopefully, Apple gets inspired by it.

Nah need an iPod Touch rear shell design, the 6/6S/7/8/X/XS/11 design made it feel like a soap bar when holding it without a case (slippery) and with a case the most extruded portion of the curved frame added pressure when holding it in the palm and finger/s.

A flat sides with the edges curved a bit like the iPod Touch felt great to hold with and without a case. The screen should stay flat. The curved bezel might be an optical illusion design decision to make it appear thinner, though I feel Apple should either increase the display size while decreasing the bezel or shrink the physical device size so it’s a little more comfortable to hold in one palm. Curved bezels on the display make it horrible to apply screen protectors.

Apple ripping off Samsung as usual with just enough modifications to make it seem like it isn't a full blown copy. Curved screens do look futuristic and it's immensely satisfying using gesture navigation on curved displays.
Cut the ripoff ********, Apple is not in a position to be the first hardware wise with these type of things. Apple only has a few models and if Apple was first the supply chains could only handle 10% of the total demand. You could also argue that every smartphone is a ripoff of the original iPhone. With similar software, features and looks. (Rectangular sheet of glass with a camera and touch interface)

I just want them to remove the pill in iPhone 15. I know it is not realistic, but…

NO!!! The flat design is perfect. I can actually hold it! Do not go back to soap bar shaped phones PLEASE
I suspect Apple discontinued the iPod Touch line to use its design language for some version of iPhone. Imagine an iPhone mini with the same design as the iPod Touch. That thing was slim at the cost of battery life but it felt good to hold, solid build, good take a beating because it was slim like a chocolate bar. I just hoped Apple would have used that design someday in an iPhone it was design perfection for its formfactor.

This is terrific news if true. The flat glass look is so dated. This isn't 1983 after all!
Except in futuristic movies a handheld device such as a tablet of phone is portrayed as a no bezel FLAT piece of glass. The curved stuff is used for wearables or in some instances some form of monitor that is not meant to be mobile or handheld.

Reading is hard.
The previous iPhone X/XS/11 displays had a 2.5D display the curve was on the bezel. I am not aware of Apple having a curved viewable area screen but Samsung and other have. It serves no purpose other than to make it look bezel-less by lighting up pixels that are basically a touch dead zone at the cost of battery life, durability, protection, etc. Waterfall displays should have stayed a concept but Samsung needs a buzz feature.

The curved edges (like what we saw with the iPhone 6 all the way to the iPhone 11) make swiping from the edges far more comfortable.
Maybe if you don’t use a case, most people do use a case and I have been using one for all design types of iPhone and never found swiping an issue. Maybe just maybe you are swiping incorrectly 😝

No, the seamless curve of the iPhone X is and always will be their best design. It felt far far far better in the hand because that’s how ergonomics work.
Cool so all those curved displays are such a hit along with 3D. You are not using that device continually for 6-8 hours a day similar to if one was sitting or standing while working. Maybe time to cut back on device usage seems like an unhealthy addiction. Good thing we have curved screen laptops and tablets for ergonomic sake 😜
