I can report - as someone who moisturizes her hands frequently, especially in the winter - that the Apple Silicone does get greasy this year, too.
I can live with greasy right now until I find a better alternative. Like I’ve said in the past that alternative was the Sheath but the Sheath is too darn heavy.

He was talking surface wear over time, not proactively adding moisturizer to a case. Doing the latter will make most cases more slippery.

View attachment 2576996Just got my Sheath in Grey, this thing is so nice irl, great texture, no buttons rattle and seams cant be felt when i run my fingers over it, and the grey will hide the seams and dirt build up better over time. Shipping is crazy fast too, ordered 2nd November and received 7th November.
How do you like the weight?

Yea Caudabe shipping transit times are good with stock. If I order on a Monday before 9:00am I’ll get it on Friday.

Greasy hands will make the case greasy, no matter where the grease comes from. With greasy hands this will obviously happen sooner than later. But it will happen eventually. This case is no exception and no magical no-grease silicone.

This is one of the reasons why I like the Sheath. Pretty much almost greasy, smudge and fingerprint resistant.

Caudabe cases and replacement buttons arrived for my 17 Pro!

First up, the Paragon with silver replacement buttons. Original buttons had no rattle and while the replacement silver buttons are the 2.3 variety, they've got zero rattle too.

Next up is the Synthesis Frosted, also with 2.3 replacement silver buttons. Same experience, no rattle from the stock buttons or replacements.

And finally the gray Sheath with Celestial Blue 2.5 replacement buttons. The stock gray buttons had zero rattle, but they included a set of replacement 2.5 Gray buttons as well, just in case.

All the cases fit perfectly, don't have any weird seams, and no button rattle. My case buying is officially done for this phone (unless Caudabe releases more colors I want).

Is the Paragon significantly thinner than the Sheath?

My digital calipers need a battery (which I keep forgetting to pick up), but in the hand, the Paragon does feel slimmer than the Sheath, though it's not a huge difference. The back of the Paragon can be slick, but the grippy sides make up for that.

One thing I noticed about the Sheath is the surface isn't as aggressive as previous versions. I compared it to the one I have for my S25 Ultra and the one I still have laying around for my 15 Pro Max, and they've made the surface pattern slightly less grippy. It's still got great grip and feels good in the hand, but that's just something I've noticed.

Is the back of the Paragon slick like the Synthesis?

If you had to pick just one - Paragon or Sheath, which one and why? I prefer cases with thin profiles depth wise. What are the weights?

All for the 17 Pro:

Sheath - 45g
Synthesis - 42g
Paragon - 42g

I would say the back of the Paragon is slightly slicker than the Synthesis because the frosted back of the Synthesis has a texture to it while the Paragon doesn't. If I had to pick just one between the Sheath and Paragon, I'd probably go Paragon because it feels slightly slimmer and I like how they lower the edges on the sides of the screen on the Paragon.

I'll also say when I'm sitting at home using my phone, I use a magnetic popsocket, so that negates the slickness of the back of the Paragon. I take the popsocket off when I'm heading out, though.

I know the 15 Pro Synthesis was somewhat slippery on the back.

Wow is that around $500 worth of cases and a battery?

How is the mous case for the 17 pro max? I know the edges scratch easily on the camera bump but what about the space between the lens and flash et - flat area of the bump?

what about the Torras o stand Q3 Air?
One of the cases in my rotation is the Torras Ostand Q3 Air. I like it a lot. My phone actually fell off the bed this morning on to the floor and it did it's job! I rotate between that, an Apple TechWoven and Urban Armor Gear Monarch Pro Kevlar.

Honestly im good with the weight. Weight usually doesnt bother me as much as the thickness does. My nomad rugged is unusable now after ive used slimmer and more rounded cases.

Sheath feels good in the hands and to me thats what matters

Isn’t the Nomad Rugged more protective than the Sheath?

Your first 2 sentences repeated my last sentence.

Time will tell if Apple has changed the material composition on this 17 series case. They’ve changed it in the past.

I believe they changed it last year, as it was noticeably better out of the box. But it seems they only changed the coating because after some use it became the same old greasy silicone.

I also don't have high hopes for the durability, because the Silicone cases of some of us here are already starting to flake not two months in. So I doubt we'll see a much different wear on it this year. Might be even worse than usual.
