I'm thinking/hoping for my Benks case with aluminium plateau ring that as long as it's not touching the metal of the phone it'll be fine. Or that you can't cover the WHOLE shaded area with metal.

As my Sheath & Tank won't be here for launch day I will get something else as a backup incase that it does indeed ruin the reception using the Benks.

When I first saw the antenna bands “connected” to the camera bump, I had concerns. I’m in agreement with you.

It seems that many case manufacturers go by leaked dimensions alone. I’m guessing only a select few manufacturers get actual info from Apple before release.
Seems like nearly every one is some sort of metal, too...

I’m hoping no one has an issue. Hopefully @Pug72 is correct in the hypothesis that only direct contact, with the antenna band, would be the worst case scenario.

Apple’s fix for the attenuation problem with the iPhone 4S, was a rubber bumper to avoid direct contact with the antenna band. I’m not sure if this actually fixed the problem, as it was a long time ago, and I don’t remember the specifics.

Also, I’m not sure how differently the human body attenuates signal as compared to metal. Any radio engineers out there?

I sent an email for this problem to Benks support. Here is their answer:

Dear customer,

Thank you for reaching out!

It won't affect. We have already conducted experiments

I was thinking of getting the black armorpro, by any chance did you make a comparison with the spigen Enzo? In case it seems better to you? Thank you

If true, that’s great news!

I’m really torn on the upgrade this year. I love that there’s finally a significant change in design, the old design was becoming routine and didn’t feel like any change from year to year since the 12 series, but I just wish they had better color options for the pro models. I’m leaning silver, but I always get a dark iPhone, just not sure I’m feeling the blue, guess I’d have to see it in person.

Secondly, I’m trying to decide what case to get first. I like the black beats rugged, or the tech woven Black. Opinions?

My Apple clear case arrived for my 17 PM Cosmic Orange. I know someone here said they like the 2-tone look but I'm disappointed in that big white square on the back. I tried it on my 16 PM, ugh. I think I'm going to return it. I always want a minimalist case that lets me see the color of the phone I chose and doesn't add too much bulk but that clear case for the first time isn't going to do it for me. The cheeper clear cases on Amazon yellow too quickly. Also ordered the Apple Terra Cotta silicone case but then read people here talking about how the Apple silicone cases harden and peel. I'll probably send that back too. That phone is so slippery, despite my best efforts I drop it so I'm afraid to carry it around naked. Back to the drawing board. I've spent way more time trying to decide on a case than I did deciding on and ordering the phone. I'm a lunatic.

I’ve never had the Spigen Enzo so can’t speak for it but it does look nice though. You definitely can’t go wrong with the ArmorPro. Let us know what you end up choosing between the two.

Does anyone know which leather cases do NOT have a metal plateau ring? Don't want to take the risk.

You’re in good company—we’re all lunatics here.

Maybe look at the Dbrand Ghost, or if you’re adventurous, I’d highly recommend the Arc Pulse.

Wiiuka for example. Someone further up posted the US Amazon link, since they are a German company I only have the EU shop link here.
