But silver looks cheap and basic. Looks like an entry level $199 cell phone.

Silver can look subtle and refined. There are, for example, certain classes of hi-fi equipment where the upscale models are silver instead of the basic black.

I didn’t realize they’re still doing SIM cards in Australia.

What’s strange to me about the design is the off-center Apple logo with the two-tone design. It looks like there’s a battery pack attached to it.

I think the official cases actually center the Apple logo, no?

Edit: I wish it were in black.

Getting Cosmic Orange Pro. I was using the 15 Pro Max, but with the additional two inches (16, and 17 Pro Max), I've had enough. I'll be using the 17 Pro. The 15 Pro Max fits my hand in terms of size, but I doubt the 16 or 17 Pro Max will.

The orange I think looks even better in the photos OP posted. I just can't get past the two-tone back on any of them. Honestly I ordered deep blue because I felt the contrast was the most subtle on it though I will throw a case on it regardless. I am not one to buy or not buy a phone based on looks, but having said that I think this is the ugliest series overall by far lol. Yeeesh

Awesome!!! As expected, my maximalist heart LOVES the orange! So happy to have some real color in a pro option.

I also have the clear ESR case lined up for the beginning tomorrow, but I happened across this… choice… the other day and well, it’s now on its way to me because I have no shame 😂 Pumpkin Spice iPhone for life!

I usually get a black or gray phone but every now and then I’ll go for a color - I am getting the orange and am stupidly excited for it! Already ordered a clear case but may have to splurge for Halloween - can you post what your phone looks like in the case, when you get it?

First time I've thought an iPhone doesn't look good case less.. Using two different materials on the back was a mistake at this price point. Compared to previous Pro's they lost the premium look IMO. Hopefully they look better in real life compared to pictures posted so far online

Using two different materials can look good, as it did on the iPhone 5. The shapes on the 17 Pros are just a bit… not very stylish. And the frosted glass shifting color depending on angle and lighting doesn’t help, IMO.

I agree. The frosted area looks almost like a sticker at certain angles.

Until your photos, I thought the orange was too garish and the silver the best.

However, now, the orange looks great and the silver looks like it's not finished and still waiting to have a coating of colour applied to it.

But maybe the blue is the best!

This is why I have to go and see them all for myself. I'll probably decide they're all too expensive and heavy, and end up with the base model in green or something 😁

I like the color too, but for me personally, I know I will get quickly tired of looking at it, too vibrant. Blue too. I like more muted colors, and I was so hoping for something like the 13 pro in alpine, or the green/greyish 11 pro.
Made a spontaneous decision to get a silver 17 professional yesterday, got tired of waiting for a full display iPhone, and the tele lens will be useful to me at work.
but I swear, if Apple decides to release a green pro as a refresh next year lol!
Reason for choosing the silver was also that I’m guessing scratches won’t show as much.

I’m a little bummed it doesn’t have reverse charging, would have been a cool backup feature to have.
If Apple continues with their minor improvements I think I’ll be happy with my 17 professional for next 5 years

Hope it doesn’t, I hate stickers lol. I’m guessing it will look fine irl, but I can see what you mean. Would have much preferred a back that was all glass, looks best imo.

I never use cases since iPhone 4 and I hate that it's noticeably thicker. I ordered the blue but second guessing it now if I should do the air.

15 Pro Max > 17 Pro here too; excited to “downsize”. Keep me posted with what you think!

The more pics I see of the silver, the less I like it. Def should’ve went with my gut and preordered the blue. I also have a black Air coming tomorrow, and I may actually roll with that this year instead. Apple really dropped the ball with the Pro series this year, imo.

I’m happy for those who are satisfied with their new phones, but in my personal experience, oh my, how Apple has ruined and cheapen their brand and potential legacy og iPhone with these cheap looking aluminum phones. This is Déjà vu of the era of iPhone 5S vs iPhone 6, but this isn’t 2014 where they could trick us into believing it’s an upgrade, though even back then I saw through the cheapness. We have seen the benefits of glass, wireless charging, ect.

Real world photos solidify that this phone is the worst looking iPhone ever. All they needed to do was make it matte black.

Bought a Pro Max in silver but I'm actually considering going for the Air this year.

Agree. It’s hideous. Be looking forward to seeing them all in person though.
