This is lame and is going to waste a lot of time. I usually have location services off for two reasons: When I use the camera, it doesn't annoy me everytime by asking "do you want iPhone to use your location?" and also having it off saves battery life. Apple went a step backwards on this one! 😡😡😡

If you just hit yes 3 times in a row you don't have this problem because it will remember your answers...
 
When you're looking at the currently playing album's track list, you can now double tap to go back to the artwork. Before, you would have to tap the mini album icon in the top right corner.

its been like that since lyrics were added
it certianly was there in 2.0.2
 
Some nOOb posted saying that shaking the phone shuffles the play list and like an ass I was shaking my phone and my gf thought i had a current shock....

Same here. I know what you mean. It would be nice to be able to turn music (iTunes and Youtube) volume up and down, and not have it affect ring volume.

In much of the same way that we download ringtones, it would be nice to be able to add custom tones for SMS alerts.

"EXIF data infomation now remains on photos/pictures when emailed from your iPhone. Sites such as Flickr are now able to show geotag and other infomation. (Credit to MadGoat)."

So the only way flikr will show geotagged photos from the iphone is through e-mails? I'm not exactly sure what that statement means, so if someone could maybe translate it for me please.... 😱
 
I don't know if this was posted.... But if you try to set date and time it will crash.. And return to home page 🙂

When you say "the iPod App," are you talking about the iPod that came installed on the phone? When I double tap during a song, the album or playlist comes up and not the lyrics. Are you talking about the iPod or some App that you downloaded from the App store?

I think he means that if you had downloaded songs' lyrics from wherever and transferred them through itunes to your iphone, it would show up in the way he had described.

And yes, the "iPod App" is the little white ipod icon with the orange background with a that came bundled in apple's apps.

Thank you. If anyone knows how to get lyrics into iTunes so that you can "double tap" and display the lyrics while listening to a song, please tell me "step by step" how to do this.

you may use my tip listed bellow one one condition, DO NOTE USE the music video to i kissed a girl and i liked it... sorry but that song is stupid/annoying/moronic.

right click on the desired song
click get info
click on the lyrics tab
go to a website and copy the lyrics
paste in the itunes lyrics page and click OK

now sync the song and your done.

I'll rephrase it. If you send a photograph containing EXIF data (such as geotag infomation) to Flickr via the e-mail method, the EXIF data remains. Previously, I think the EXIF data was removed before emailing. Not sure though. I've just reported it.
 
You can now display AM/PM on the lock screen, if you're using the 12-hour clock.

Note: This function, for some reason, does not appear on everyones phones. Some 'upgraded' phones show the AM/PM indicator when set to 12-hour, but some don't. However, most 'clean installs' of 2.1 will show the AM/PM indicator.

alternative: install widget "Sing That Tune" and enable "Save Lyrics to iTunes" - completely automates the process...

Can you elaborate? Does this mean that if you get the alod you just wait and after it dims it will auto reboot?

I'm so glad they fixed this - it was driving me mad when I was listening to the iPod through headphones and couldn't hear the really quiet ringer when a call came in.

So far I'm loving the new firmware as it does seem to fixed so many things and not broken others. The App placement and much quicker installation is my 2nd most favourite new feature. Genius playlists are actually pretty good as well.

I had this problem also, but after doing the update yesterday, it has stopped.
That was one of my biggest problems, Lovin' this phone now, everything is working great!!!
 
iTunes 8

Has anyone done this wonderful idea for iTunes 8?

I have been noticing missing songs and album artwork.

Missing songs, I have found are songs with more than the Album Artists, aka "featuring artist for song" (Kayne West, Ne-Yo) has been placed with the rest of the album, once iTunes plays them.

And what is up with the differences of Various Artists and Soundtracks?
Not yelling, just trying to understand the rules of the programming...

If someone could point me towards such a thread of the iTunes 8 changes, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
 
I believe this is new in 2.1:

In 2.0.2, settings would take a few seconds to open -- now it's immediate but third party applications settings are loaded afterwards.
