When location services is switched off in the Settings menu, the Maps application reminds you to must manually turn it back on from the Settings menu when using GPS. Originally, you would have the option to turn it on when the notification appeared. (Credit to sgiles1).

This is lame and is going to waste a lot of time. I usually have location services off for two reasons: When I use the camera, it doesn't annoy me everytime by asking "do you want iPhone to use your location?" and also having it off saves battery life. Apple went a step backwards on this one!![]()
In the iPod App, and you are playing a song, tapping to bring up the progress bar also automatically displays the lyrics, instead of a double-tap bring it up. The double-tap now takes you to the album that song is part of.

the triple button headphone thing doesn't work ;/
on 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 have experienced the ringer volume adjusting down as you adjust down your music volume.
either way the problem existed because many of us have experienced it.
Some nOOb posted saying that shaking the phone shuffles the play list and like an ass I was shaking my phone and my gf thought i had a current shock....

Justin you're doing a great job at this.... thanks for the effort and the brilliant screenshots!
I don't know if this was posted.... But if you try to set date and time it will crash.. And return to home page![]()

When you say "the iPod App," are you talking about the iPod that came installed on the phone? When I double tap during a song, the album or playlist comes up and not the lyrics. Are you talking about the iPod or some App that you downloaded from the App store?
thank you.![]()
I think he means that if you had downloaded songs' lyrics from wherever and transferred it through itunes to your iphone, it would show up in the way he had described.
And yes, the "iPod App" is the little white ipod icon with the orange background with a that came bundled in apple's apps.
Hope that helps!![]()
Thank you. If anyone knows how to get lyrics into iTunes so that you can "double tap" and display the lyrics while listening to a song, please tell me "step by step" how to do this.
Thank you.![]()
Justinomg,
Your musical taste aside, I would like to extend a personal greeting and thanks. The energy you have put into this thread, which appears to be your first post on MR (!) and the good natured demeanor you have exhibited throughout it, are a refreshing change from the typical MR newbie/noob.
I am typically a curmudgeonly smartass, so this may be the last nice thing you see from me.
You should be promoted straight to 6502.
Cheers,
-Rob
My Bluespoon AX2 headset finally works with VM too! Cheers to Apple for getting a quality update out. You won't find service like that from Palm!
Seems like they may have found this glitch. Is there anyone on 2.1 that has a BT headset working with calls, but still not with visual VM?
Plantronics Voyager 510 headset now works with visual voicemail. And great thread!
Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock
(obviously)

"EXIF data infomation now remains on photos/pictures when emailed from your iPhone. Sites such as Flickr are now able to show geotag and other infomation. (Credit to MadGoat)."
So the only way flikr will show geotagged photos from the iphone is through e-mails? I'm not exactly sure what that statement means, so if someone could maybe translate it for me please....![]()
right click on the desired song
click get info
click on the lyrics tab
go to a website and copy the lyrics
paste in the itunes lyrics page and click OK
now sync the song and your done.

I'll rephrase it. If you send a photograph containing EXIF data (such as geotag infomation) to Flickr via the e-mail method, the EXIF data remains. Previously, I think the EXIF data was removed before emailing. Not sure though. I've just reported it.
Add on ALoD it will auto restart after the screen dims instead of us having to do it manually as an attempt to fix the ALoD (which I might add has not worked for me yet, which makes my quite angry).
I'm so glad they fixed this - it was driving me mad when I was listening to the iPod through headphones and couldn't hear the really quiet ringer when a call came in. iPod volume setting is now independant to the phone ringer volume setting. (Credit to rat-boy).
Same here. I know what you mean. It would be nice to be able to turn music (iTunes and Youtube) volume up and down, and not have it affect ring volume.
In much of the same way that we download ringtones, it would be nice to be able to add custom tones for SMS alerts.
