Apple doesn't do stuff on the cheap and ATT site is having issues now as well...There are just too many people trying to order it at the same time.

Apple is working for me up to the point where it checks the ATT account information. This is 100% an ATT problem.

Thank goodness they have a store near by. They open in an hour and i'm going to get up there and kick some rear end big time.

A lot of complaining for a bunch of fanboys who can't order. This is a lot better than the last two summers waiting in line at 4AM only to have them sell out before you get to the front. Suppose I was one of them, but was able to get them both times. This morning I ordered two 4's via att no problems. I am bypassing the stores this year and having them Fedexed. Ahhh, not having to deal with an att store...bliss!

Went smoothly for you too?

I did notice that it didn't appear to waive my 18 upgrade fee that I could tell. I'm a bit pissed about that because my text upgrade check said they would. I figure I'll wait until I get my phone and then call to complain about the fees.
You think that's bad. I've been with them for at least 3 years on an extra line and have never been on a subsidized phone and they won't waive the $18 fee.

Trust in Big Blue

Woke up at 4:00 (PST). Checked Apple Store website on my 3G. Site down. Went back to sleep. Woke up at 5:16. Checked again. Site up. Got up. Went to the iMac. Site down again. Checked macrumors.com. Found lots of very unhappy (other) fanboys, especially those who wanted a white phone (which I didn't). Sat for ten minutes refreshing Apple Store website and reading posts. Gave up and went to AT&T website. Ordered a 32GB Black in five minutes flat. Hope they don't screw me... :)

EDIT: The confirmation e-mail came immediately (to Gmail). Maybe I was lucky. Keep trying, people. I'm going back to bed for another hour! :)

Got my order to go through on AT&Ts site at about 7:47 Eastern time, but still no confirmation email and nothing shows up in Order Status. Getting a little nervous. :(

Good. Go bother Google then. Theres nothing more annoying than snobby customers who feel like they're entitled to everything their hearts desire.

Haven't you ever heard of "the customer is alway right"? You're stuck in the steve jobs is God mold of thinking and that customers should bend over for jobs.

I'm mad like the original poster that you flamed, I want it delivered to my work address, there is never anybody at home when UPS/Fed Ex comes by, so I cant pre-order either, have to go sit in line for hours with annoying people.

I put an order thru AT&T's website at 6:15 today for 2 iphones on a family plan. New customer, number port. Got both the order confirmation and the port confirmation in 10 mins.

Not sure if the order went through

I was able to click "Place My Order" on attwireless.com about 45 minutes ago. After I clicked it, my browser sat there for a minute or so and then redirected me to a timeout page that looked like an old school 404 page.

I didn't think the order went through, but I checked my bank and I see a pending debit for $1.00 from the AT&T E-store. I haven't received any confirmation e-mails and never saw a confirmation number on the screen after I clicked "Place My Order."

I called AT&T and the lady couldn't find any orders in the system for me, but she said it can take up to 24 hours to show up in the system, and I can't pull any orders up for myself on AT&T's website.

Also, I changed my messaging package when I purchased the new phone and that has not gone into effect online even though it said the change would be immediate.

Now, when I try to upgrade the same line again, I'm getting the P1015 error that others are reporting.

Do you guys think my order actually went through?

Your request couldn’t be processed.
We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later.

I don't want to make a reservation, you idiots!! I don't live near an apple store!! HELLO!!

So, whilst I wait for a better connection to the apple store, can anyone answer a few questions? First, what are AT&T's family plans for minutes, and will changing a line on a plan increase the price? Because it said that my "current plan" is $100 when I don't believe I pay that much a month currently. I have 3 lines on the plan, just voice, no data or texting. And I do realize I need a data plan, but thats a clearly separate charge.

I noticed the same thing.. not like it matters really... can't get through the order process without errors!

BTW I've been reading some of the other posts... for your own health people, lighten up!

I qualified it with an "unless," you made the assumption. Little guilty?

Your qualification holds true if I check the phone once during work, which is obviously the case with anyone who has a phone.

It's like saying. "Oh, only an idiot drives a car that they park in their garage." Obviously, if someone has a car in their garage they purchased, it is for driving.

You tried to make yourself look so great by talking down to other people who use their phone during work. You want to seem so high and mighty.

Let me guess, are you middle management?

FedEx

FedEx and Apple require signatures on ALL orders from the Apple Store. Don't know how AT&T does it. You can print and sign a waiver for FedEx to leave it at your house. You can specify where to place it (front door, side door, under the oak tree on the south west corner of the property.) The only gotcha on that is if someone spots the notice on your door and decides to wait until they see a FedEx truck stop by. That waiver removes any liability from FedEx so... Of course, the driver can also decide he/she doesn't want to leave it. Finally, if FedEx Home Delivery is who attempts delivery you won't be able to go to the terminal at the end of the day. You can call and arrange pick-up the next day at the terminal. Just thought I would pass on info to help everyone.

I'm in the same boat. Order placed around 5am eastern. Still no confirm and nothing shows up in order status.
Existing account upgrade.

So here's the situation...my fiancee lost her iPhone back in March and she wasn't eligible to upgrade while I was. AT&T let her use my upgrade back in March to get the 3GS and figured I would use her upgrade to get the iPhone 4. Her original date was July 2nd but b/c AT&T pushed everyone up, she is eligible now.

So besides physically going to an AT&T store with her, what is the best way I can pre-order the iPhone under her account? What happens if I do it under her AT&T account online, does the phone come synched / attached to her phone #?

I'm on the Phone with Apple right now and it seems as if their systems are having the same problem as people ordering online.

So how does the Apple Store handle family plans? Both my wife and I have an iPhone.

When I partially got in there this morning it seemed like they were only going to let me order one phone.

From the Apple site :

How do I buy multiple iPhones?

Pick up your first iPhone at an Apple Retail Store and an Apple Retail associate can help you purchase additional iPhones.

waiting since 6am eastern for an email. wife got hers within minutes.

nothing on order status, or View my Reservations. My wife's email as a "cancel my reservation" link, and I'm interested where it goes, but I'm too scared to click it.
