I worked at placing my order for around and hour and a half. I got the 'Oops' error several dozen times at different points during the process. I just kept going back to the main store page and going into my cart. That took a couple dozen times before I actually saw my cart. Then all of the sudden everything just went through without a hitch. It was as if, everyone else just stopped trying. Now I just need the confirmation email to feel secure.

I am not sure why the estimated tax on a $299 purchase is $57.67 but I hope that is worked out when my order is actually charged.

Geesh, who would have thought so many peole would be ordering today. :/

They need more hamsters...

Apple needs to to a better job at Launch. This is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just got off the phone with apple. they said they weren't expecting such large volume and that both internet and phone ordering servers were down. waited 30 minutes on hold to get that reply. They told me to wait an hour or 2 and that both servers would be back online. They assured me there were plenty of iPhones available that they're just experiencing technical difficulties.

Soooo frustrating. Been trying for hours. I even have been attempting to call, but they're so swamped the automated message just says "we can't take your call. bye". I finally got in once but have been on hold for 42 minutes.

This is such a Charlie Foxtrot.

Is anyone here getting the 299 price for the 32gig even though their contract isn't up until 2011?

Is this a glitch???

Not a glitch. All iPhone accounts that end before 2011 are automatically able to upgrade, however that's not the end of the story. Completely independent from the iPhone situation, AT&T determines whether your account is available for an upgrade (to any phone, not just the iPhone) based on various factors that are known only to them.

My contact did not end until 2011 and I am also able to upgrade at this time.

Looks like that if you don't preorder, it will be some time before you'll be able to walk in the store and buy one.

I don't want that to happen again. I had to wait quite a while after the 3G came out. It's the reason I have a white one. You couldn't find the black ones anywhere.

Woke up at 7:00am EST logged into ATT Premier ordered my phone, no email confirmation but card got charged. Hope everything is good and the email is just delayed or something.

Wow this is rare for Apple to have such technical problems at launch. I am just going to wait until later today and try then, hopefully they will still be available though!
