iPhone 4 Available for Pre-Order from Apple

Persistence pays off

I had been working through the order process step-by-step all morning on Apple's site - having to endure many timeouts - but finally was able to get through a little after 9am EST!

32GB Black pre-ordered for home delivery. Woohoo!

Hang in there gang. I was a reload hound all morning with the Apple Store on my secondary monitor.

Stop showing off that you both managed to get through. I can't even get one phone !!!;)
 
god please give me some patience. or at least make someone pick up the damned phone.

Wow, locked up for the past hour on both AT&T and Apple site to upgrade.

The first time was a bad bad tease as I got all the way to the point where I was about to enter my credit card number then got a "your session has timed out due to inactivity" - only I wasn't active for about 10 seconds!

Frustrating...
 
I wouldn't be surprised if this incredible demand was because AT&T bumped everyone's new phone date up. So practically EVERY iPhone customer is on there trying to order the new one. They should have staged it so that those of us who were already due for a new phone can get it now, and those of us who are only eligible for an upgrade because of AT&T's graces in altering our new phone date can get the phone a couple of weeks later.

If you got that far - it should be in your cart.

Finally, just for giggles, I checked my cart and much to my surprise, it was there...must have been stored there from my earlier attempts. At that point, I checked out no problem.

This worked for me too...if you've been trying a while check your cart! Do be too excited though I noticed it was in my cart at 8:45 and just got my order to go through at 9:50AM EST

Anyone else getting charged full price even though they are eligible?

The text from AT&T says I am eligible and they will waive the upgrade fee. I checked out at the apple store for pre-order and it says I have to pay full price, anyone else getting the shaft this hard?
 
Yippeeee....finally after early, early morning tries....order has been processed. Only thing that kind of stinks; they would not allow me to have it shipped to my work address, only can be shipped to the AT&T billing address. Looks like I will have to spend the morning at home.

To be fair. The problem seems to mostly be with ATT, it fails when it goes to check there end.

But I think even google would have trouble with having as many people pre ordering something of theres.
 
is everybody getting caught in the ATT verification screen? I feel the apple site moves smoothly until i get there then i timeout?

I would wait until later to order or try the ATT site.

That's what I'm hearing from my friends that are still trying to pre-order.
