Oh come on man, I didn't once complain about the iPhone. And yes, he was being a douche because what do you think everyone's doing? I couldn't care any less if I can't pre-order the iphone right now ... it wont make me feel any better that I have to wait till the 24th. He was just stating the obvious.

Just answer me this, "Why the heck do you want the new iPhone so bad?"
 
ugh, i've been trying off and on since 5 a.m. and still just getting the "order couldn't be processed" or whatever the message is. anyone have any luck calling in? is that an option?

update: the iphone Apple Store app keeps crashing as well.
 
The AT&T retail Corp store is incredibly busy at 1020am east coast time. There were 20 people in line of me.

I kept on having 2 of my 3 preorders canceled via AT&T.com
premiere site.

So many people having the same thoughts as me. So they all came into the store to preorder.

I have been waiting 40 minutes to preorder. The store manager said they would ship directly to my house on June 24th depending on availability.

Only Black available for pre orders in AT&T Corp retail stores also.

I am probably going to have to wait another 45 minutes to pre order.
 
Wrong, I am consistently timing out on Apple's site before getting to the eligibility check.

It could also be that Apple's servers are not handling sending the requests properly. Sorry to disappoint, but it could be either parties fault, a combination of both, or just a fact of life.

On second thought, it's probably a combination.. Apple should have ensured this would be a smooth process though.

I want it cause its better than my 3g. Simple. Faster and better features. I don't care if I pre-order today or if I have to wait till august to get it... It's not a big deal. Does that answer your question?

AT&T are not my friends right now. I can't stay logged in on their website, not even looking in my account. I'd say it's pretty clear that AT&T are at fault.

WAIT WTF!?!?!?! Im not going to BE at my billing address. No one is. Im going to be staying at a friends in New Jersey leaving the next day (travels to england). Are you telling me that apple won't take my money? This is f*cked up. I'm stressed by the server issues, but not mad at apple or AT&T, but I want that phone before my trip. I could reserve it at a store there, but what if I dont want to be near a mobscene? God...
 
I have heard from a few people locally here that they are Pre-Ordering White iPhone 4's. They are being told they will have them the 24th. With Apple not having them I doubt Best Buy will have them. So seems Best Buy is dropping the ball on that one.
 
PSSST Try ordering using Apple's new Apple Store App directly on your iPhone.

You might have better luck... no guarantees.

I have been at it that long as well, go to your cart and you should see the iphone there. I did it and the new iphone was there I processed the order and it went through.
 
I just pre ordered two phones from Best Buy, one black 32 gb and a white 32 gb. No lines, no hassles...I decided to try after unsuccessfully getting anywhere on Apples site and At&t's awful error message.
No sleep, amped up on coffee...so I went to best buy, only 3 people ahead of me...I must've looked like a freak, eyes all bloodshot. So I asked about the pre order and they said sure, white or black. At that point I almost fainted and nearly hysterically shouted WHITE AND BLACK.
Anyhow, I have the receipt, and was told the white is coming. I dunno, I feel good about it. Best Buy has never dissapointed me and I was able to use my $300 in rewards on it too.
 
#1: You can't blame Apple

Face it, this is an AT&T issue at this point in the process. You'd think they would hire Apple to manage their server farm. Chances are, it's running Windows. :rolleyes:

Proudly blaming Apple. Blaming AT&T is like blaming a 4'11'' kid for not dunking the ball to win the game instead of Kobe.
 
Im not whining, Im stating a fact, Apple has had a major fail here.

I do technology, I get it, trust me I've deployed production systems with WAY more users/requests/bandwidth than a simple tiny pre-order process for an e-commerce site. Get over yourself here thinking you know that millions are trying.. Millions may be trying, VERY FEW are getting orders.. Apple has failed to execute here, it is as simple as that.. what does that say about the company and their products? It is speaking volumes to me, and I am someone who has supported apple for a very long time.

You aren't stating any fact whatsoever because you have no insight into where the problem lies, you're just guessing, that my friend is a fact. The fact that you consider their system "a simple tiny pre-order process for an e-commerce site" tells me that no, you don't understand technology, or at least not very well anyways.

Second, you don't know that VERY FEW are getting orders, unless you happen to have contacts at AT&T and Apple that have given you counts of actual pre-orders. Again, another guess on your part.

Third, what does that say about their company and products to me? It says that they have an enormous customer base and they have just released a product that is in extreme demand. I'd think that is exactly the sort of thing that I'd want to hear if I was an Apple supporter (financially that is).

It seems to be getting worse. I was at least getting close every once in a while before, now I can't even get to the screen where it asks for my information.

No actually I don't need insight into the actual problem to claim that this is a apple fail.. This is an apple launch, and it failed.
