I'm beginning to think they're not going to be able to sort out this craziness online... now that everyone's trying to destroy the server.
 
Earlier this morning I was getting through AT&T's check just fine, but then it was bombing when I tried to "Add to Cart"... or so I thought. I just checked my cart and I had 3 phones in there! I deleted two and completed the order.
 
i got through apple store to see my phone in the cart - first time today... added immediately and then my session expired...LOL sad im happy that it even added.
 
The Apple Store App is finally semi-working now. I got all the way to book a reservation with att account verification, but when i press "book", it gives me a error message that states "Could not create reservation at this time".
 
Im disappointed that we have to wait for the white one! I wanted the white one this time, so I have to wait on ordering mine. On June 24 I'm gonna go check out the black one just for fun.
 
Well, it took a while of on-and-off attempts on the Apple site. Finally downloaded the Appe Store app, and after a couple of crashes during the AT&T eligibility check, it finally went through. Had the spinner change from checking eligibility to checking availability, then a couple more clicks, and I had a reservation. Now just waiting for the email.
 
Looks like Apple changed the behavior of the pre-order. Now when you select "Existing Customer" it instantly tries to start doing something and you get the pinwheel before clicking Continue. Of course, then it errors out...

Noticed this too. I'm sure apple's sysadmins are having a fun day.
 
I finally ordered the 32 GB and 16 GB phones from AT&T's website. I didn't want to go through them since people are claiming that it might not come on launch day (which isn't worst thing in the world), but since there's no end in sight to Apple.com's problems, I just did it to get it over with.

If you're ordering a new phone with a new phone number, the process is absolutely painless. If you're trying to port a new number over during the ordering process, you'll get an error message every time. Unfortunately, now I'll have to go to the AT&T store when I get mine and have our Sprint numbers ported to the iPhone.

I noticed that. i got really excited and thought that maybe things would work this time... only to be let down. again.
 
I just hope that BOTH of the speakers on the bottom of iPhone 4 work, unlike my iPhone 3GS!!! :mad:
 
I was finally able to reserve a 16Gb one via the Apple Store app although the price shows as $599 (I'm an existing customer eligible for the $199 price). I'm hoping that the reservation process just went around the AT&T bottleneck and that the price will get sorted out on the 24th.

Yep, I've noticed that too. I've also noticed that it errors out with timeout errors way more often now than it did before.

On the plus side, it does appear to be erroring out faster, so you don't have to wait 10 minutes for the upgrade eligibility Pinwheel of Death to do its dirty work.
 
You all think this is bad, wait until next week when the (free) OS4 is released and you have millions of people trying to download it at once :D
 
6 hours, now i have to leave for work.... boo, ill keep trying there!

Att's website boots me out every time i click on upgrade or shop after i log in. It just sends me back to a login page. Feels phishy to me!!!
 
I've been trying both since 8am. Still, no luck. For the last hour or so, I can't even log in to AT&T's site anymore.

Yup same here now:confused: Tried to order for my wife and brother but can't login!

i was done in 15 mins too ! but now when i try my order online is says order not found can u lookup your order fine??

Nah, im not worried about the order showing up in their systems yet..I got an email so im content with that :cool: Also, it says it can take 24hrs to show up, I wouldn't doubt it taking longer with the hits their taking now!
 
If you were up since 2 am you too would realize that any PREMIERE CUSTOMERS cant order on the ATT website... so we are stuck with apples
