Here's what worked for myself and a bunch of my co workers.

The apple guy at our local store said AT&T is overwhelmed upgrade requests.

So.. Download the apple store app, he said it already has your phones info when you get to the upgrade part, so it's faster and works..

Ahhh, I was running the app from my ipad instead of my phone which is why it must've given me the "new customer" price.

You should be able to pick it up that day. They may have a time frame by which it has to be picked up but not sure. I would assume they would give you until 7pm, at least.

"Please note that your reservation will be held until close of business on June 24."

So i guess whenever they close that day...

I have been trying pretty much non stop since 7am est this morning.

In the past month I have been told at an Apple store that I do not need a new 15" mbp because that 'Is just too much for me' with the sales clerk telling me she would not sell me the machine. I got mad and left the store

The next day I tried to purchase the same machine at another Apple store where I waited 30 mins and not one person was able to make the time to help me. I walked out again.

And now this today. I'm a fanboy and not claiming to be leaving, but this past month has been ridiculous with me not being able to purchase Apple products.

you all are gluttons for punishment :)

it's been widely advertised that supply won't be an issue this time around...just wait a day or so for the database issue to be resolved

I am on the checkout page of ATT ready to click submit to finalize it but im hesitant to order from them because they are notorious for you not getting it on time

i am not so worried about it. i think they just do that as a cya move incase they are delayed. i ordered through att at 3 am.

Ever thought of asking politely for a manager?

What about "4g"

:confused:IPhone 4: will AT&T offer a 4g network as Sprint has done? If so will the iPhone 4 be able to access the 4g network? Would it be a software upgrade or a “New iPhone” upgrade?

This is the error message I'm getting. All my information is correct, and this has happened multiple times. When I call AT&T, they blame Apple and when I call Apple they blame AT&T. Is anyone else getting this?

It looks like the Apple store App on the iPhone is working so I will just reserve it that way. I really hope there's no foul-ups there.

Would it really be that hard for AT&T or Apple to make a brief mention on their websites as to what the problem is, when they expect it to be resolved, etc?

On the one had, it's only been half a day which is understandable, but on the other, it's been half a day! I woke up at 4:30 AM to order this stupid thing, I'd like them to at least make an effort.

when will ATT charge my credit card? i was thinking if i can place order or apple.com tomorrow ill just cancel my ATT order

wow

wow, totally crazy negative order process. I went ahead and booked a reservation for the local store, on the IPHONE app, but not sure if that is going to provide anything. But, the ATT.com site and apple site for the past 1.25 hours have gone nowhere

seriously...wouldn't sell you the machine? next time ask for a manager and watch that person get fired in front of your eyes.

Best Buy

I got sick of all this server craziness. I went to Best Buy, fully expecting to not be able to reserve one. But I was, and they were able to look up my account, so something was working. I may not be able to get mine on the first day, but so be it, at least I know I'm getting one:D

Good luck all!

I finally got the pre-order to work via AT&T. Apple kept telling me my session timed out and asking me to start over. I know everyone is frustrated (I started trying at 7am EST), but just keep trying, and you'll all get through eventually. As more people get through, the servers get offloaded. Just think, now you guys don't have to compete with me!!

P.S. still waiting for confirmation e-mail, though.

If you were up since 2 am you too would realize that any PREMIERE CUSTOMERS cant order on the ATT website... so we are stuck with apples

After hours of trying to get through via Apple's & AT&T, I was finally able to reserve it through the iPhone App while I was at lunch!

Apple never admits anything. AT&T simply doesn't care. Place both in the BP category as far as I'm concerned.

Some of those updates on Gizmodo are scary. # charges on their visa and yet a canceled order? This is really appalling.

So whats the deal with people that have reserved and are getting emails confirming so, but with prices of $599 and $699 even though they are eligible for upgrades?
Is this just because we're reserving it and not activating it now? So Apple assumes we're paying retail price and not eventually activating it to get subsidized pricing?

ME TOO!!!! finally. anyone know if i can also reserve my wife's phone from my iphone app? (i enter her phone number, and the applicable 4 digits and zip code) tried immediately after mine and it says it can't make the reservation but to try later.

And, do they send a confirmation email? I took a desktop pic of it on my iphone to make sure to have some sort of record, but would be nice to know if they email confirmation so i'm positive it is in their system as well . . .
