I ordered mine just fine from the premiere website

So did I, my order even went from "received" to "processing" with of course the last step being shipped.

Success!!

Just came back from my local store in CA and preordered my 32GB phone no problem, and there werent more than 20 people in line

ME TOO!!!! finally. anyone know if i can also reserve my wife's phone from my iphone app? (i enter her phone number, and the applicable 4 digits and zip code) tried immediately after mine and it says it can't make the reservation but to try later.

And, do they send a confirmation email? I took a desktop pic of it on my iphone to make sure to have some sort of record, but would be nice to know if they email confirmation so i'm positive it is in their system as well . . .

you'll get an email. i just did the same thing. don't be surprised if the email says $599 or $699 for your price though, even if you're eligible for an upgrade

This thread should be titled "iPhone 4 [not really] available for Pre-Order from Apple"

Or..

"Keep trying, idiots. Oh, by the way, we're only selling one of the two colors we promised. We would have told you before now but you're not important enough."

Uk prices seem quite high, but then again it is an awesome phone.

This is why the USD quoted (and subsidised) prices by Apple are just total marketing BS, as they are never the real world price they drop at. Is this phone now officially the price of two netbooks?

So, I think I'm all set now, by using the new Apple Store app on the iPhone. The ease of the reservation is what has me questioning it's validity. Is it right that I didn't have to enter any payment information?

I now have a reservation to pick up a black iPhone 4, 32GB at my local Apple Store according to the iPhone app. It says that the phone will be available for me all day.

My same concern... it was too easy and I did not get any email confirmation... hmm

Ok... I just did get an email with a price of $699? Yah right.

I got the same E-mail.

I did it first on my iPad, then canceled the reservation and tried my iPhone on wifi. Same thing happened. Going to keep it before they run out here in Indianapolis. (One Store)

I am sure Apple on launch date will not care and have the phone there for whatever the price will be.

(I still want a white one damit!)

Call the store where you are picking it up if you want to confirm that they will adjust the details (price, plan) when you pick it up. This should be the case. My local store said that it would be taken care of when I pick it up.

Ordered and confirmed first thing this morning - sweet! :)

I did spot that the new dock isn't shipping until July according to the UK store, so I cancelled that one out - good job too as it looks like apple's server glitch attempted to charge the dock at £10,000!

I finally I had enough and went to an AT&T store here in town. While waiting out in line the manager, Hermon, comes out and tells everyone no debit cards and can only take pure credit cards only.

Knowing my card has DEBIT stamped on it I called my bank to ask. I was told long as it says VISA on it they have no excuse not to run it and it is a credit card first and foremost.

I then called AT&T on my cell to tell them the same story. They had never heard of that and said the store had to take my card. I was satisfied with that answer and waited in line for another hour.

When it was FINALLY my turn in line I told the cashier guy that I had this card and I had spoke to AT&T and my bank and I relayed their verdicts on what Hermon had said earlier. He said sorry no dice.

I then told him that one of two things was has about to happen:

1) I am buying two phones right now with this card

2) he was about to login and wipe my accounts totally out and charge me what ever he had to, even if it cost more than 2 phones, and that I was going across the mall and get Verizon

He told me to wait while he want and got Hermon. Hermon told me the same BS story again so I told him login right now and cancel everything AT&T I have and I would wait while he did it.

Needless to say I have my two phones ordered and they indeed ran my card.

I used the app. Simple - but way too easy to trust :)

I don't see a price anywhere on my email. Where is it referenced? Perhaps they took it out knowing people were getting confused?

app

I did the order with the app, it seems to have gone through, I received a "pick up your iphone on june 24th" email in about five minutes.

So, just like with my 3gs pre-order, I didn't pay anything and it should be fine I think.

same here man...i did another reservation on a newer, modified apple ID and another email came through...except this time, there is no price, just like you said

Here is the email I got. Notice under the iPhone 4 item there is no price. Which is different than the other emails people got.

Right about 8:30am CDT this morning. The Apple site kept stalling out on my so I simply went to the ATT Premier Store. Went through fine. I have been trying to repeat the stunt on a second line to no avail since though...... :(

Scratch that. Second order just went through, finally.

Gave up trying to order online. Went to my local ATT store and bought one in 5 minutes. They mentioned their computer system was slower than normal however at least I was able to complete the transaction and pay for the phone.

Its clear to me that the reason the iPhone app works is because it is just skipping the ATT verification phase.

Earlier it wasn't, it was trying to sync up with ATT, and the app would crash at that point. It seems they have just removed that phase, which originally caused everyone to look like they didn't have an upgrade option, which caused everyone to get high priced emails. Now they just removed the price, assuming it'll get fixed in the store.

This is all just a guess - but it seems to make sense given the events of the day.

I actually ran out of patience after an hour this morning for the Apple Store Online to cooperate. I went to my local Radio Shack and pre ordered there. $0 down and they actually said they would be receiving the White one. I ordered black just to be safe. Took awhile for Radio Shack's severs to process the order even though they don't need any connections to ATT's servers until launch day.

got my order through apple store check your cart i checked it and had 4 iphones siting in there i had to dump 3 and keep one

put my CC info in there and BOOM !

only took me 10 hours but i got it done

Same old order number by apple

order Number : W245******

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Makes sense.

^ I wonder if Apple knew these issues were going to happen. It seems strange that the app released on the same day.

Already did :)

They will correct everything when you go into the store
