iPhone 4 Available for Pre-Order from Apple

I was thinking this but it did say checking eligibility and came back with the right price point for my phone.. good luck to all
I did place my order for the new IPhone 4 through ATT and got an order confirmation# but I did not get an E-Mail confirming my order did it go through?
The iPhone 4 is a 3G (or 3.5G) device so cannot access 4G networks.
The 4 in the name refers to 4th Generation iPhone, not 4th Generation Network.
1st generation iPhone was called the iPhone
2nd generation, the iPhone 3G
3rd generation, the iPhone 3GS (originally 3G S)
4th generation, the iPhone 4
5th generation may be called iPhone 4G, is 4G networks will be emerging then.

So i just called the Soho store - biggest problem I have is that Auth users may not be able to go in to pick up the phone, it has to be the Account Holder...which I am not. Parents live 1+ hr away
However, they did say that reservations will be held till their doors close that day and there should be no worry at all that a phone wont be there for me. Which makee me feel much better not needing to be there at 6am...

I dunno what it is, but this time around I will not be going with the white iPhone. I find the all white front really turns it off IMO. Black iPhone for me
No contract pre-ordering in the UK
So only pre-ordering available in the UK at the moment, is un-subsidised, non-contract Pay as you Go via the Apple Store websites.
I'm disappointed as I was hoping to sign up for a new contract today.
I've been with Vodafone for 2.5 years and only had one handset so hoping to negotiate a good deal, or move to another network.

I'm sure glad I stayed up and made my reservation last night, though I definitely am not happy about the 'first come first serve' clause, hopefully it's a formality just in case so that they aren't liable if something happens.

I really hope this isn't true, seeing as I am not the account holder and the real account holder lives 4 hours away. I mean, I know all the info about the account, and my name is on my line so why not? Ugh.
I also reserved via the apple store app. Didn't have to enter payment info - as others have already said, this sounds TOO easy.
Does this reservation mean that I can skip the lines of people waiting to buy on the 24th? I imagine that there will be another line of people like me who have reserved, need to give payment info, etc. Wondering if the reservation is even worth it...

Very slowly, but surely - I was able to place the order via AT&T Premier at about 2:30 PM EST.
The checkout page stated that the phone will be overnighted via FedEx for Jun 24 delivery. They didn't lie about my 3GS order so I'm hoping they stick true to their word on this one.

So i lost my iphone 3G 2 weeks ago...didnt realize, cheap, didnt want to pay for data so I cancelled my unlimited plan, and figured id just wait for the i4. Therefore, lost my ability to be grandfathered in for i4.
HOWEVER. i am in complete withdrawal and my friend let me borrow her 2G. I just activated it and signed up for the old-school $20 unlimited/200 text plan. SO ------ where does that put me? Am i now re-qualified for unlimited for the i4?

I did! One at AT&T, then I asked best buy to see if im eligable and I was so I did 2😛 If for some reason I get my phone shipped from AT&T already activated then I think i'll be screwed once Best Buy tries to redo my plan and charge me
So does anyone know if it's true that the account holder has to be there if you wanna pick up the phone in store?

Where does it state it will be overnighted? I dont see anywhere that it is being shipped overnight.
It doesn't say it on the order status page - it said it on the page just before checkout where I entered shipping and billing information. I didn't take a screenshot, but it said something like:
"iPhone 3GS 8GB and iPhone 4 pre-orders will be shipped via Standard Overnight for delivery on June 24."
wow...this is really upsetting me now...i just clicked "cancel my reservation" to see if my email was actually legit and it says "your reservation has been cancelled"...i mean WTF??? i've done this before and it gave me options to cancel or modify the reservation
I am going to try getting another from either apple.com or att.com but on a different line. I should be allowed to do that right?

You're not just trying to make yourself feel better since you can't order the white one are you? I want the white one!!!!!
what do you think guys? i just got through on AT&T...I don't know if I should continue waiting for Apple's site to go through or just order it

I suspect Apple is trying to streamline things as much as possible, including fewer keystrokes (and thus shorter scripts) to accomplish tasks. I got my order in succesfully earlier and I'm not touching it until it is in Fedex's hands.
I skipped out of my order with ATT - too risky IMO. Some1 earlier here said Apple doesnt admit anything and ATT just doesnt give a sh*t about u - totally true...they will get you with all their terms, etc...could care less if you are happy
by now their inventory numbers have to be accounted for - youd be ordering a backordered phone. go thru apple if u can
