I can't see ulgying up my iPhone with a Bumper. The Bumper itself isn't ugly but the iPhone is SO hot that changing it with a bumper seems like destroying a work of art.

I will just be careful with it.

I tried to cover mine but it doesn't feel good (please no, "that's what she said" jokes). Seriously, phones this pretty shouldn't be all covered up.

Mine still says 'delivers on 24th of June' but not shipped yet. I got two of them booked straight after Apple updated UK website. So I guess I was among first ones. My bank account was not charged yet, is it normal? Have you beed charged already?

My card has not been charge yet, they normally charge your bank once they ship.

I ordered the bumpers just as a precaution, once I see and feel the phone I'll decide if I want to put them on. But I agree a phone that looks this spectacular should not be covered up!

So if I reserved on for pickup at and apple store and got and email confirming my reservation, do I still need to get there early to make sure I get one? I also don't have an order number or anything on my apple account but I think that's normal. I'm just trying to make sure I won't show up and they'll all be gone even though I reserved one.

You should be worried. Mine got charged on the 15th.
They dont charge until the item is shipped, mines was charged on the 15th as well. Yesterday it disappeared, cause its just a hold on the funds for 72 hours. Take a look around, its happening to everyone.

24th

I ordered mine @ 3:30pm PST and I got two back to back. 4 minutes after I ordered the shipping date changed to July.

your account is updated but the hardware simply has a sim in it. when activated thru itunes it will then attach the number to the sim or more accurately attach the sim serial number to the your phone number.

best to cut down your current sim and put it in the new iphone.

Sorry, I don't think I understand? Should I remove the sim from my 3G and put it in the iPhone 4 and then activate using iTunes?

Why worry about something I can't control! Besides I ordered the AppleCare for each phone and both have been charged and shipped so I suspect the phones will follow and show up on the 24th.

They will probably be in a "all hands on deck" mode. They will put more drivers out as necessary. It won't be a big deal. They are use to high volume spikes like Valentines, Thanksgiving, XMas, etc.

I wonder if Fed-Ex would mind if I showed up at their local hub at 12:01 am on the 24th. I would save their delivery driver a stop...

Same boat as you mate. Spoke to Apple rep - UK statuses won't change till next week. Because of US landmass - they need to get those babies out first. UK is so small in comparison, Apple can afford to sort us out next week.

Don't worry, 24th June is a guarantee according to the Apple rep (unless you live in Scotland, Ireland or Wales lol) I live in Scotland, Edinburgh and unless you're remote, your pretty much guaranteed delivery ontime - heck, they have UPS & TNT depots in Edinburgh airport

Lmao! If i was the delivery driver i sure would let you take it, less stops makes life easier lol

Prepared for Shipment

IPHONE 4 BLACK 32GB-USA
Custom configured
Ships: Delivers on June 24th

**happy dance** :D

I'm a little concerned how activation will go coming from a first gen phone. Could anyone tell me if activation, normally (on a perfect bottle-neck free day), is it a pretty smooth process?

I've had several iphones. Just plug into itunes to get rid of the "Plug into itunes" message, 'unlock' phone.

then pop in my sim.

I've never had to activate and hopefully I can cut down my sim right and continue the trend :D

First of all, the 3G and 3GS (and pretty much every other phone out there) uses a standard sized SIM, whereas the iPhone 4 uses a micro-SIM - so without some surgery, the SIM from your 3G won't fit.

However, the phones being shipped directly to homes have the micro-SIM pre-loaded. To activate them, you hook your new phone up to iTunes and it pretty much does the rest (with some info from you, I imagine. Never done it this way, myself).
