Anyone showing weirdness on their credit cards? Mine is a 300 limit, I paid it off with 220 and had 80 bucks, with 220 credit.

It says I have a balance of 80, but I only have 20 bucks in credit. Is Apple holding the money?

I'm so heated right now. I ordered a phone through apple. I was double charged by apple and AT&T. I called AT&T so they sent me to a store. I walked to downtown Brooklyn and talked to a woman who said to cancel through Apple. I called Apple. They said to cancel through AT&T. I called AT&T and I canceled through AT&T and now BOTH phone have been CANCELED.


I just don't understand!

sort of.

the merchant (Apple in this case) puts in an authorization and settlement request to the CC company in order to get paid.

But sometimes a merchant does an authorization only and settles up later (like when the item ships).

Authorization is like asking "Is the money in the account? Yes. Ok, set it aside for me."
 
I am now "prepared for shipment" :D FWIW, I managed to snake my order in just before 7PM CDT via Apple.com. And also FWIW, I'd been trying since 10:30AM CDT to place the darn order, not really caring if it went through via Apple or AT&T ;)
 
Here's a curious question for those of you who ordered via Apple.com & are upgrading their phone (this is the first time I've upgraded an iPhone/any phone with a Data Plan, so bare with me) ....

When I click on the "show order details" tab, it shows me with no voice plan, but the $30 data plan with the $5 text messaging plan.

Is that an oversight on Apple's part (ie, them not knowing which voice plan I'm on), or am I going to have to contact AT&T when I get my phone and have them add my voice plan back in?

Since its an upgrade to a current plan (vs new plan) its just not showing minutes.
 
I was one of the lucky ones who got through Apple.com's system in the later afternoon, right before the shipping date slipped. Looks like I'll be shipped to my place on Launch Day.

I ordered the iPhone 4 Bumper yesterday and was pleased to see that the black will make it my way a few days after Launch Day. Other than black bumper, Apple.com has all the other colors not shipping until mid-July. Holy smokes!

I have the same thing a double order one from ATT and Apple but with all the glitches I didn't want to take the chance of canceling one of them and having both get canceled, I figure that before they ship they attach the new sim to my account and which ever one was ordered first will be shipped and the second one will be canceled out, if not then I'll worry about at that point.

Same exact thing happened to me and my Apple order now says cancelled. I'm on hold with Apple now.
 
While my Apple order status still says "Not yet shipped", *639# now says I am not upgrade eligible, with an upgrade date of 11/19/2011. Also, AT&T sent me an email this morning saying a new Customer Service Summary was available. The CSS is usually only updated when the contract changes, and the transaction date says 6/19/2010 (today), so I'm confident my Apple order status will change soon.

Those of you who purchased more than one subsidized($199) iPhone on the same line/phone number, are both of your shipments showing up as prepared for shipment or did one get cancelled/not get prepared?
 
Cancelled?

WTH! I've been checking the status like everyone else... NOT YET SHIPPED.... 45 minutes later, I check and it says CANCELLED!! I certainly didn't cancel it. Money in the bank, bill up to date. WTH!!!!!!!!

I was OK that I had to wait all day and try 75 times to finally get it ordered, but this is madness.
 
I ordered from the ATT Store and noticed they charged my card this morning. I'm guessing this means it's ready to ship?
