Wow.... so much better with the screen protector gone! The entire screen had an artifacting effect with that the built-in defender screen protector. It comes off very easily, and leaves a tiny gap and a little glue/residue that you'll have to make sure to remove. The gap is so tiny and the phone doesn't move around. There's no way it's 1/8".... this is like 1/32" of a gap. I have no desire to put a screen protector on but I'm not sure if the rubber would eventually rub up on it enough to come loose.

Anyway, here are some pictures after I peeled the screen protector off:

I did the same thing when I had my 2g, took out the clear screen protector to prevent the oil slick effect. I used a Power Support screen protector instead. Thinking about getting this for my iPhone 4 now.

okay i just got my otterbox for ip4. i must say coming from the defender from the 3g this one doesnt feel as rubbery? the rubber/silicone isnt as thick as the 3g version. and the polycarbonate shell seems thinner. dont get me wrong it feels sturdy. im not sure if it will be able to take a drop like the 3g defender. also does the otterbox have a plastic film in the inside of the case that you have to remove? Since i got my otterbox for ip4...let the search for an iphone4 begin!..

Why do humans put cell phones into cases when they have perfectly good tummies to put them on!

I've been pretty abusive with my iphone4 since I've put it into the Defender - perfectly fine.

Amazon had a price mistake where they allowed some orders to go through for $19.84, but delivery is being shown as between August 25, 2010 - September 24, 2010. It was a good deal if you don't mind waiting two months without adequate phone protection.

I got in on that, too. Waiting sucks, but the cheap price is worth it.

Ok guys. I am planning on keeping this thing in my pocket. I currently have the pixel skin and it kind of gives me some problems as far as gripping the insides of my pocket when taking it out of a pair of slightly tight jeans or even my basketball shorts. So for those who have the otterbox, what are your opinions of the grippiness of the case? It's silicone, so I know it may stick a bit, but I have been reading on this post that it slips in pretty easy. Can others please confirm and give me their honest opinions as far as pocketability. I appreciate it, and sorry if there is a thread on this already.

Thanks!!:D

Receive mine today too, comming from the 3GS otterbox, the plastic on this iphone4 otterbox feel a little different from the old one, it is more stiff and thin compare to the 3GS casing, looks like it will crack if I drop it on cement or tile, the top silicone flap doesn't line up the hole for the noise canceling mic, other than that,it is a good protective case.

Dust

Does your guys cases get a ton of dust and other trash stuck on it. Its like its one of those sticky hands that stick to walls. hope it stops.

Got my case in yesterday and I have to say that it is much smaller than I anticipated. The hole for the noise cancellation mic does not line up perfectly, but is not a big deal.

Feels very sturdy overall and the silicone/rubber outer covering feels geat in the hand and pocket. It has a more slick feel to it than other silicone cases I have had, and doesn't pick up nearly as much lint. Screen protector is nice but not as clear as the SGP I haD on previously. I am very pleased with the Defender.

is there any place I can buy this case immediately? I have to leave for a trip next thurs, and I'd like to have a Otterbox defender for iphone 4 by then.. : /

there's nothing on ebay..

well i just ordered mine off of the otterbox website. Do you guys think it'll come by August 11th..? I leave for vacation on the 12th...

Got mine

I got my Otterbox in today and there is only one thing I do not like about it. The clear part that covers the screen is not flush fitting on the screen so it kind of pushes in when you go to touch the screen which makes you have to slide your finger harder also when trying to send text or go through your apps. It might be because of the zagg invis shield but I am not sure if that is what causing it or not. On my 3G I have a prortective shield on it plus the defender and I never had this problem so who knows.
