This is not a confirmation for an iPhone 4s. It's a list of phones that are compatible with the Bumper case. I doubt you'd find an iPhone 5 in that listing.

Can't wait for tomorrow. I don't care with the iPhone has the same look of 4. As long as is a much better phone it's all good.
Looking at Apple recent history with iPhone a major redesign seems to happen every 2 years anyway.
I will be ordering it ASAP since my 3G can't handle it anymore.

Your argument is circular - "people highly value the things they highly value".

Someone pointed out that a case design and slightly larger screen do not warrant the level of grief some people are expressing over it, especially in light of other concerns.

That poster never said that a larger screen is not a good thing.

There you go!

not really.

Actually it wasnt. People place a high importance on it because they want it so much.

Now you have managed to miss the point of my post too! I'm sorry but is your reading comprehension a little on the poor side?

Your initial response showed that you did not understand what you were responding to because you assumed that the post you replied to implied that the origanal poster did not want a bigger screen. It did not.

This has nothing to do with how important you assume people believe a bigger screen is. Whether you are right or wrong about that does not change the fact that you did not understand the post you were responding to.

Exactly and not only that.

Most people are on 2 year contracts. They only start looking for new info when that contract is up.

The techies who are always looking for the latest and most spec laden phone must have a lot of money to burn to be switching always to the latest.

For most people no need to be in that race.

My 3 GS is getting old, but whatever iphone is next is better than my 3 GS, so I'll buy it for 2 years and then the next iphone will be better and so it will go again and again............

I totally agree, Apple costumers will keep buying apple, that's where the sells comes from. Not everybody get a chance to get a new model every year, depending on their contracts of each carriers usually has a 2 year window to give the chance for an upgrade.

Now Apple will see an increase in revenue if people like me never had an iPhone before will get a chance to change. They will entice a lot of people from a new carrier (Sprint comes to mind) that never had the chance to get an iPhone. The problem is that I'm comfortable with my phone to wait until a redesign comes out, I got spoiled with a bigger screen and going down seems like a step backwards for me.

keep in mind the iPhone 4 leak 16 month ago...
they did and do not want happen this again...
i don't wonder about we have not seen anything of the iPhone 5...
they play with us/ the news sites...
iPhone 4S is a good story but will never happen...

doubt it

And most people (not tech geeks) are ok with a smaller screen, I have yet to see a 4 inch Droid that looks semi-usable, or fits a pocket without looking like a freakin' 1980s 'scientific calculator'

I'm with you. I'm excited about the most likely improved camera. If it's on par with a point-and-shoot ... then that's one less device to carry around.

That is what is creating doubt in my mind as well. The cases have yet to be explained.

Also, peoples short memories are not helping.

Leading up to iPad 2, all we had were cases, that were exactly right, and had been around for months.

Arn refuses to acknowledge that he was saying "no redesign" of iPad 2 leading up to the day of the event.

And any ppi below the current would be "less than retina"

Actually, that's not quite true. There's 25 values of PPI below the current that would be "more than retina" but "less than iPhone 4". ;)

The math is around 300 PPI at 12 inches. The iPhone 4 is 326 PPI. They can go up to 3.8" of screen at 960x640 and still retain the "Retina" effect.

Yes, really.

I'm starting to think you just don't get logic. Do you have trouble figuring out how milk relates to coffee? Have you found recently that doors never seem to open the right way?

I stand corrected, but anything below the current 326 ppi would be a downer nonetheless.

I mean, some one like me who is myopic actually holds the phone less than 12 inches away, and I swear I can see the jaggies on "near horizontal" or "near vertical" lines. Apple would need to weigh that against the perceived desire for a bigger screen.
In any case, the pixel size isn't gonna change from 640x960.

Unless Apple has managed to pull off the biggest bluff the industry has ever seen, I think that's all but guaranteed.

Rational Person: Do not try and imagining the iPhone 5. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Apple Fanboy: What truth?
Rational Person: There is no iPhone 5.
Apple Fanboy: There is no iPhone 5?
Rational Person: Then you'll see, that it is not the iPhone 5 that exists, it is only yourself.

Actually, I'd think you could move the thing into 4.0" inch territory and around 280 PPI and no one would notice.

Or you know.

"Just hold it farther

Steve
Sent from my iPhone 5 with an iPhone 4 case"

300 ppi is so arbitrary. And the current 326 ppi for the iphone 4, while great on paper, is unnecessarily fine. Who's eyes are that good? Take the iphone up to 4". I don't care if the ppi goes lower than 300.

Lol what?
Sorry, but no. Not even close. It's also best not to make s*** up when you have no idea what you're talking about.

iPhone 5 tomorrow, heard from my friend in the know. You can all quote this post tomorrow and be happy.

Hey, some of us fanbois are betting on the 4S! :)

If there is no "iPhone 5" tomorrow then why is AT&T stocking cases for such a product? Cases that fit the form factor of the rumored 4.3 inch iPhone.

Either AT&T is stocking cases for a phone that doesn't exist or iPhone 5 gets announced tomorrow.

Well, then please enlighten me on what I have seen with my own eyes, since you seem so informed and so not "making ****** up".

EDIT: Oh, I see you highlighted the "downer" part. Well, I'm not saying everyone will agree, but marketing-wise, going down with the resolution seems to me at least on par with calling it "4S" vs. calling it "5".
