It would probably help if everyone didnt keep trying to reactivate over and over and over when its obvious everything is slammed. I know it sucks, especially if your old phone isnt active, but it;s only making things worse. Just play around on wifi or something else on the phone, or find something else to do for an hour and try again...

FYI, my brother;s iphone 4s would not activate online, it was not recognizing his order number, so I called att and activated it through the automated system and it went through perfectly, didnt even need my order number or anything.

Nevermind. Just went through the set up process again and got it fixed. No word on how long it's gonna take though...

There are going to be at least a million activation requests today across various carriers. It might take some time. Grab a Snickers.

HA HA HA HA HA HA....

that's for all of you tracking your iPhone flights, nagging UPS, etc. Now you can't even activate the thing once you have it. Karma is awesome.

That being said I can't activate mine either and I gave my UPS guy a bottle of Heavy Seas Greater Pumpkin!!!...

Can't utilize the AT&T Automated System b/c the iPhone still requires YOU to connect to iTunes!!! Just got off the phone with AT&T; I think I heard someone in the background call me a LOSER!!! ROFLMAO!!!:eek::eek:

+1 ^^^ MovieCutter is hilarious...

your going love

ATTENTION!! ATT IPHONE USERS!! to get past that screen that says 3 mins to activate your phone, take out your SIM card and than proceed!

Holy crap it activated. 42nd time is a charm! Coincidence?

I don't even get an error when I try to activate it. My iTunes just says an error has occurred and it shows no service on the iPhone. Is something else wrong?

On AT&T and I was finally able to get in through iTunes. I just kept railing it just like everyone else. At least there is one less person trying.

Good luck.

I didn't get an error on the phone (while activating it) either, and then I chose "restore from iTunes". I plugged it in, restored, done. But... "no service"... huh?

New problem...

I was on the phone with AT&T Customer Service. After 45 minutes trying various things, the representative indicated that even manually keying in my new iPhone4S ICCID (SIM Card) and IMEI numbers in her system, we couldn't get my new iPhone activated (purchased through Apple.com). She said it might take a couple of hours to possibly go through..... unfortunately, she can't change the ICCID and IMEI numbers back to my old iPhone3G.... so I'm without my cell phone for at least 2-3 hours. UGH!!! She indicated that I might need to try contacting Apple at: 1-800-myIphone.

Of Note: to be fair, the customer rep tried to do everything she could. Due to these issues, I asked if she could waive the $18 activation fee... she said that the system wouldn't allow a waiver, but would allow her to give me an $18 courtesy credit.

Now I can get past the error due to server problem, but now it doesn't recognize the SIM card number on file (the one that AT&T changed from my old phone to my new phone a few hours ago)! *sigh* Still no service on either my old iPhone or my new iPhone.

I went to the Apple store at the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale today around 12:45. They tried to activate through AT&T's servers and could not get through. They wouldn't let me leave with the phone to activate it later either, which I thought was kind of weird. Is there a specific reason for doing this? Now I have to go back to the mall after work, but I'm not stressing too much. Haha.

YEah, I got the same thing. I cleared the phone to get back to the activation screen, and now it just fails, go to no service and iTunes tells me my information is invalid. I can't switch sims because it shows up as invalid as well.

Well, I have been trying about every 10-15 minutes to activate my new 4S, but haven't been successful in over 2 hours...maybe it will happen soon...

Attention!!

TAKE OUT YOUR SIM CARD AND THAN GO THREW WITH THE ACtivation process!!! I tried for hOurs trying to get mine to work. This is the only way you will get yours working!!
