Ok I have an update. I finally figured the RIGHT way to fill out ups form to get info.

Select mail innovations
Put in apple order number and take off last 2 digits
Put in zip code-INCLUDING THE DASH AND THE LAST 4
There isn't a ton of info on it yet but it shows that ups found my order and is in process of shipping!!!

OK, I got my order confirmation from Apple at 6:24am ET. Ordered a black 64GB from Verizon (switched from AT&T). Oct 5 date.
I just checked my credit card:
9/20/2012 10:43 PM $430.92 Electronics Sales APL*APPLE ONLINE Approval
Apple still says processing items. I have a feeling that it will go to prepared for shipment before tomorrow morning. Then it will sit around for days before it gets here.
I predicted this last week somewhere. I think this is a move to prevent us for canceling and trying at the store tomorrow.

I put in 5 different random numbers for the reference and it said it found a package everytime.
Yeah so guess the packages it finds aren't ours.. I tested out random numbers and it found a package every time..

Same-o. I put in made-up numbers in the reference field and it still showed Tracking 1 package but no further details. I think it's giving you bogus info

Mine didn't work until I had my order say preparing for shipment and i used extra part of zip.
Same here, you can put in random everything and it'll come back with "1 package matching".
Selecting package and putting in your billing number will find your shipment, if UPS has actually processed it. That's how I've tracked pretty much everything from Apple before receiving an actual tracking number.
I like how they charged me right away for AppleCare but the phone isn't even available to ship yet

Yeah, they did the same thing to me, which was causing me concern as to what would happen if I canceled the phone order and went to a store to get it. Could I transfer the Applecare?

ATT 64GB Black pre-ordered on Apple.com at Fri 14th 4:08am eastern. Was in processing delivers Oct 5 w/charge held since pre-order.
As of 11:55p, now Preparing to Ship, but delivers Oct 5 remains. Nothing showing in support profile or via UPS reference lookup. Can't tell from credit card if final charge pushed through. No ATT email yet either.

my card just got charged, still says Oct 5th but I find ot hard to believe we wont get our phones next week
Most likely. I mean, when they replace the iPhone through AppleCare they cover the new phone. The new phones always have a new serial number... so it makes sense. Right?

My extra lightning cable is preparing to ship, but not my iPhone. Would suck to have a cable for a few days staring me down without a phone lol Even though the estimate for the cable is Oct 11- 17 and the iPhone is Oct 5th. Makes sense... not.

I ordered mine sept 14th at 4:36AM cause AT&T site was down, mine had a authorization charge over the weekend of a $1 other than that I still have 2-week wait delivery oct 5. How come so many black iPhone's are getting updates but nobody with white iPhone's are getting anything.
