Well these posts give me hope. Ordered a 64GB black AT&T on the Apple app at 4:06a EST.

Went to preparing for shipping and charged my card yesterday. Had an Oct 5 date but would be ecstatic if it came today. UPS runs past my house around 3-330.

My wife received her phone just now. She ordered over the phone with ATT about 5 hours after I ordered mine online with the app. Still nothing on my status.

This happened with a lot of people, sadly. I ordered my iPhone 4 with AT&T and received it a day before the launch date. I completely forgot about that and ordered my 5 through Apple like an idiot.

I have no reason to lie about something so dumb. If you'd like, I can take a pic of the phone and the "orders" page on apple.com to prove it.

Oh I was kidding. I believe you. It would be sweet if I came home and my wife was waving a black box in front of my face. Then she'd regret it because i'd spend about 2hrs migrating from my current iP4 and gawking at it.

Congrats to your bro.

I decided to go to the retail store this morning and wait in line, mainly because I had the time and was just plain curious what it was like. Big mistake. I had already preordered an iPhone and got an Oct. 5th delivery date, and was planning on just canceling the order when I reserved the same model at the retail store - I wanted to keep the preorder active until I was guaranteed the same model would be in stock for me though, as a failsafe. As the employees were coming around handing out the "reservation cards" I checked my account online and my order was "processing" - I got my reservation, logged back onto the online store, and it had switched to "preparing for shipment". Literally five minutes had gone by. Now, not being able to cancel the order, I still waited in line, figuring the Apple store employees could cancel it for me, or I'd end up with two iPhones and just return the preordered one if it was too far along the shipping process. A couple hours later and it's finally my turn - only to see that it shows that I am ineligible for purchasing an iPhone because I had already preordered one (I guess there's a limit). I tried calling the online store to see if I could cancel the preorder...14 phone call attempts later, and I was able to get through to a rep from the online store. And an hour after talking with the rep, having the retail store employee talk to the rep, and being put on hold a bunch of times, I'm walking out of the store with no phone, and a "return request" on my preorder. It seems the retail store and the online store have no idea what each is doing. So I basically wasted my entire morning just to get aggravated, and be in no better a situation than I would have originally been had I just slept in. I don't care that it'll take two weeks to get the phone, and I don't care that I don't have it in my hands right now - I can wait. But to drive up to the store, wait in line for hours, spend another hour on the phone with Apple only to be told in the end "You're basically ********", and leave empty handed is all in all just extremely frustrating. I would have thought that the online store and retail stores would be more coordinated to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Apple has made it very difficult to make me feel good about giving them money today.

Well, I ordered mine via the AT&T Site around 7 PM Eastern on 9/14.

Here is what mine looks like in the system. No status other than processing.

Exactly my experience this morning. Well almost. I didn't do the part with talking to the rep. I just saw that it would be more inconvenience than it was worth to buy the phone they had in the store for full price and then return it to the store when my order showed up. The store isn't that close by that I'd just casually go over there. As to the guy who responded sarcastically to one of my previous posts here..I don't think I passed up the phone by choice since a significant additional charge on my card would be involved, as well as the trip to the store. And I pre-ordered..so whenever the phone comes if it's not today then it's LATE. The whole idea of preorder is that you receive the product on launch day. If you don't then the pre-order is a fail even if the phone eventually shows up a week or 2 later. This must have happened to a LOT of people. This is going to come back and bite the Apple.

i just got 1 out of 2 charged to my card.

ordered on the 14th 423am est

oh boy.

Ordered AT&T 32 black from Apple phone app on 9/14 at 4:07 AM. Still processing, but card just got pending charge for the full amount. Maybe by the time I finish posting this it will change to preparing to ship.

Alright team, I'm making a gut decision. I'm canceling the pre order and testing my luck with the stores. As long as I find one before 10/5, I'll consider it a win!

My brother ordered his 16 GB Black iPhone from apple at the same time that I did 7am(est). It still says "Processing"

The UPS guy just showed up with his phone. I'm a litle confused/jealous.

BTW: It said he would get it on Oct 5.

Now that's messed up.

Congrats to your bro.

Yeah I saw how you meant it after I wrote the reply, my bad man. That would be sweet. Hopefully it happens haha

Now that's messed up.

Not nearly as messed up as my experience with the 4s ordered from AT&T. I had UPS shipping confirmation that never showed any movement. It finally arrived by Fedx with no tracking info from Fedx or ATT and the driver dropped it and ran without having me sign for it.

I randomly walked in to a bestbuy mobile at 10am nobody was there, I asked if they had AT&T iPhone 5s he said yes. .... At this point I went to cancel my apple.com order and within 5 minutes had updated to preparing for shipment. The guy is sitting there with 2 iPhones to sell to me and there is nothing I can do. Left to go to class.... Thought about it driving down the road, turned back around. Got back to the store asked if he had any Verizon phones. He opens up a Verizon plan with 2 lines for me with insurance. Confirm with him that I can return both phones and cancel plan within 13 days. Until my AT&T phones show up I have some Verizon loaners basically.

I wish mine was still processing so I could cancel and go to a physical store. I am in preparing to ship limbo with ship date still showing as Oct 5.

Me too and i have a ticket to buy one right now if i go back before 9 tonight...gahhhhhh

When did they charge his card? Mine still says processing and no charge on my card yet....but I got the CSS email this morning. I am still hopeful! :)

Called in to see if a rep could tell me anything I didn't know already...

I'm sure each rep says something different though.

1) some of the statuses are slow to update which means those orders are further along than shown
2) your est delivery date is latest the phone will arrive
3 ) for the oct 5th crowd.. Chances are they will all be deliveried next week
4) 32 gigs being shipped out faster due to less demand..
5) most demand for 16 gig

Anyway.. Heading out of town for the weekend.. Hope everyone gets an early surprise next week
