Just a thought

But apple have hired the carbon fibre specialist? Why not make it lighter and thinner by using him to work his magic over the iPhone form factor. I'd go for a CF iPhone to be sure.

I would expect better of this place than to take bait. I bet this is a false flag out there specifically to find security holes inside Apple. Does it let you rip and play BluRay disks too?

you people floor me.... I bet if I could take an iPhone back to 2005 and show you people, you'd all scream "WTF! What a piece of ****! Anything different hurts my eyes! I want my Razor back!!!!1111!!!11"

I think the phone could be a tiny bit thinner but not this thin. The teardrop design is best left with just the Macbook air (iPhone Air?). I'd stay close the the current design and maybe mix it up with the first one a bit. Must say I'm loving the screen and home button though

Remember when we saw leaks of the iPhone 4 and everyone said how ugly it was? Yep...

I was among those that thought it was ugly, and that was an actual leaked device.

Save your breath for something a little more detailed than a mockup based on some guy's sketch.

1. It looks bitch ugly.

2. This is not the iPhone 5. :D. It's obviously going to be much different than this. But a bigger screen and gesture support is welcomed.

Cmon iPhone5. We have been waiting for a while now.

they should just keep the current iphone design (sans the fragile glass back), make it just a tad thinner with a 3.7 or 4 inch screen, and longer battery life. that mock up is fugly, and looks uncomfortable to hold if that thin.

Uhh no. Rounded off edges are a big no-no.

Tell that to the iPad 2.

I seem to remember everyone saying ip4 looked ugly and horrible before it came out. Let's just wait and see!

If that is an iPhone 5, I will love my iPhone 4 even more.
I don't like the rounded off edge design. That's one thing I don't like about the iPad 2.

Ugh, don't go back to that awful scratch-magnet shiny metal back. It's bad enough us iPod touch users have to deal with it. That's one of the worst designs for a handheld. The glass back was classy and made for a much nicer phone. I also can't see why Apple would take such a huge step backwards in design to make it look more like the first iPhone.

I would potentially like the idea of a little gesture area around the home button. Makes more sense than taking over 4-figure gestures to do app switching. Just slide your finger left or right over the home button and change apps without having to click it.

Don't like the teardrop design. Also the mockup doesn't look right in many ways. I'm sure Apple would make something much less complex-looking and less cluttered. The home buttons looks bad. Why are we so confident about this report? It's just another rumor, where's the question mark from the title?

I'm guessing Josh is just after some hits.

iPhone 5 will just be the iPhone 4 with a better antenna design and faster internals. iPhone 6 will probably have a re-design.

I agree. I think iPhone 5 will be if not literally then at least from feature perspective "iPhone 4S".

Lol, I knew that he's lurking these boards. Very funny to even contemplate people saying the iPhone 4 was ugly, it's perhaps the most aesthectically pleasing electronic product that has ever been released to this date.

Why? I loved my iPhone 4 (before I lost it) but my 3GS is far easier to hold.

I still prefer the iPhone4 design aesthetically, but the reason is the awesomeness of the exterior metallic antenna look, rather than the rectangular block shape. Although, a teardrop design would mean the loss of the external antenna, which would be disappointing from an aesthetic point of view, but something I could live with.

By "teardrop," I am referring to the tapered look from top to bottom when viewed from a side-profile. I like the rounded edges of the original iPhone and slight hump on the back of the 3G because those are symmetrical (they are also nicer to hold than the iPhone 4).

Why is this schmuck on the front page? The guy has a history of trolling for page hits. Now that he's trying to get his new site up and running, it's quite obvious what his intent is. He has as much inside information as my grandmother.

Hope not...
