I absolutely love the feature where scrolling down a page brings up an arrow pointing into that direction to go all the way down (or up) to the page, thus eliminating the need to slide your finger 10, 20, 50 times depending on the length of the web page.

3+ Hours in this thread. I think it's safe to say we ALL know you prefer android.:D

You know what "stock browser" means, right? That is the the browser that's pre-installed on your phone, and in case of iOS, the ONLY browser you will ever see.

But guess what - on an Android phone, we ALSO have Chrome and Firefox and other web browsers, and I never use the stock browser. Shall we compare the performance of Chrome and Firefox for Android with Safari?

I have Chrome, Firefox on my iPad/iPhone and others aswell. But I Guess I'll never see them.

What do you do on your phones that use Java anyways, are you even aware of what you're arguing?

False, you can easily use airplay on android and it doesn't need root access. It can also work as an airplay receiver too.

http://www.knowyourmobile.com/features/1536216/best_airplay_apps_for_android.html

And the first line of the article YOU link to states:
"Getting AirPlay to work on your Android device isn’t easy"

I don't know about you, but if I owned an Android phone I'd be arguing for *its* improvement rather than wasting my time on a forum for folk with a completely different phone, arguing to make *their* stuff better.

Again read the article......

"In reality it’s quite the opposite with hundreds of Android applications now available on the Google Play store designed specifically to take advantage of Apple’s AirPlay. We've tested quite a few over the past year and while some are better than others, offering varied features and usability, there's a lot of good stuff available out there. Below is a selection of our pick of the best:"

You guys seriously need to wake up. You assume I don't have Idevices? I have an iPod touch4th, an ipad3 and iPhone 5 on the way.

I've also got a nexus7 and previously had a galaxy s2. I like apple products but I'm not blind to their drawbacks and half the people commenting on android here have clearly never used it.

Nice try, but I did read the article. My point still stands, the first line of the article clearly states it's not easy.

You quoted out of context. What actually is 'quite the opposite' is that airplay is a closed system which is bad news for Android users with Apple TV, not that it isn't easy.

This is all nice and dandy but why the browser still cripples HTML5 features? This is not iOS problem, it's Android and WP7 problem as well. N9 so far is the only one that has proper HTML5 compatible browser. I guess others don't want to interfere with their app stores once users figure out that 80% of the app store can be recreated by just going to proper .html

There will be a faster Android phone by end of the year, a few more by start of 2013 and at least 5 or 6 by next summer and the iPhone 5 will be outdated once again. Sucks to only have one phone a year as a choice

It is easy you haven't even tried it! The guy above said it want even possible!

Try sending a photo via Bluetooth on your iPhone without an external app, or connecting to a Bluetooth OBD2 connector to diagnose problems on your car. Not possible on iOS easy on android.

They both have their advantages and both need to learn from each other.

Calm down, don't get too excited. Nobody implied that if Apple were to allow some customization it would break your phone and the experience with it. Why are you so quick to assume that 'oh no, apple gives me customization, the world is going to end!!'

You should think more openly about the benefits of having choice.

Like I said in my initial post though, the benchmarks mean squat, both for android phones and iphone.
I understand and respect your desire for more customization within iOS. That said, there are a number of reasons why Apple does not allow for the things you mentioned. I'm pretty sure the primary reason is that the *vast* silent majority, as opposed to the small vocal minority, honestly don't care about the level of customization you are referring to. They would never take the time to change things up because it's simply not important to them. This concept is difficult for tech savy guys like you and I to understand but it's true. Ever heard of the term, "geek fodder?" Secondly, many customizations can create instability, lag and/or battery drain. Understand that each individual customization requires *many* lines of code and therefore creates additional opportunity for things to go wrong. This is true for even *good* code.

Try learning to read, I'm not outdated. You can send video too

It's still not the same ! It is still outdated. 8^)

The apps can send photo, music and video now. But in iOS6, they added more options like screen mirroring, and more complex routing options ! Try it with an AppleTV or a Mac + an iPhone/iPad to see the full feature.

I have an Android tablet btw.

Welcome to the tech world! :)

You could have photoshopped that plump red boil off... it's making my stomach turn *blwwwuuaaa*
That's not a boil! It's a small piece of the bitten off apple!

It's getting very annoying defending the iPhone 5 against Apple haters and android fanboys. I still continue to do it as I believe this iPhone is a solid upgrade. What else can someone ask for? It the top-performing smart phone on the market today and even beat all of the tablets too. I have had people voice their opinion and say Apple is destroying the US. I don't understand why they just can't be happy with their android phones and let me be happy with my iPhone. I don't talk bad about the competition so what reason do they have to keep hating Apple? Props to Apple engineers for their amazing innovation packing so much performance in such a small and light package. They gave us everything we asked for. As far as NFC goes Phil Schiller said their solution was passbook. this is the best iPhone and I am very glad to have pre-ordered at 12:01 AM. I will be a very happy person come this Friday :) keep up the great work Apple, we love what you do and the amazing products you create for us.

Customization and iPhone will never go hand in hand. iOS is not built to be customized and never will be. Its basically just a launcher that opens apps and that's it.

I have been running ios6 beta for months and I'm currently on the GM. Mirroring is from ios5 not 6

You said it wasnt possible at all on android which I corrected

This is going OT

Yep because I'd replace my phone several times a year if I could!

So, this is "Apple cares in our best interest"

I don't like it already....

Apple only seems to think "no one want customisation" because they don't know people well enough...... how do they know this for a fact.... ?

I bet their not even aware how many people jail-brak for this very reason, since they have to go by the their own license agreement, which doesn't mean anything, since its legal in the U,S anyway to jail-break....

Trying to enforce an agreement for something that its legal is never going to win.

Fact is... if people want to do something, they'll get round any it by any means necessary.

Yes, it's still impossible to do AirPlay in its entirety. 8^)

They both have their advantages and both need to learn from each other.

On the iOS, you always use an app to extend the OS (Hence, the slogan "There's an app for that"). Why do you want to _not_ use an app just to make it equal to Android artificially ? Doesn't make sense.

In iOS6 beta, I have read that there are new Bluetooth Sharing options, but no one knows what it does yet.

They will likely be bigger though.

Got to admit, Apple did well not to make a big deal of performance during the keynote. This is a masterpiece of marketing because now all the benchmark results are getting them a lot of extra free publicity and persuading many of the undecided fence sitters to go with iPhone5.

These are truly impressive scores and because Apple now has its own processor design it is a differentiator that the competition will take quite a while to match.

I have iOS6 beta too ! Those Android apps just provide a limited subset of AirPlay. You can do those with DLNA anyway. What about the mirroring and other advanced features ? That's what I use for playing assorted apps and video screens to the AppleTV.

The point was Android still can't do everything even if you unroot it !
