The only thing that pisses me off with that video is the "second bloke".

"Yeah, it seems really smooth compared to the 4S" ... as if the 4S has suddenly become this juddering, stuttering, slow phone. Honestly, stop drinking the damn Kool Aid. Yes, you can see it's faster, but the 4S is still a very, very smooth iOS device, even on iOS 6.

Hell, the iPhone 4 is still smooth and fluid. That guy wasn't drinking the Kool-Aid, he was swimming in it.

Just watch the video - the features are really incredible. Makes IOS look like crap really.

Apparently the new one has been streamlined to fit better in the hand as well from a hardware perspective.

Personally im sold.. quad core, 2 gigs of ram, better camera, jelly bean OS.

I get this feeling that if the screen size was bigger, say the same size as the Galaxy S III, people wouldn't be b**ching about no change in design. I see all these tweets asking Jony Ive what he's been doing the past year but last time I checked anodized aluminum isn't glass. And about the screen size, why does it matter if it's 4" or 4.3" or whatever. Is it more work, more difficult, does it require more brains and imagination to build a phone with a bigger screen?

It seems to me the design of the iPhone was about refinement, not about a radical new design just for the sake of change. The new Nokia phones don't look a lot different than their predecessors, which is great IMO because it was/is a great design. Just because something doesn't look radically new doesn't mean an awful lot of work didn't go into creating the product.

The problem Apple has is Tim Cook and Phil Schiller are no Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs could make you lust after something. He just had this way of describing a product that Cook and Schiller can't match. Jony Ive can usually do it but unfortunatly he doesn't want to be part of keynotes. If Steve was still around he would've been able to describe the design of this phone in a way that would make you want to have it now. Phil Schiller? Not so much.

Congrats. This thread is about iPhone 5. No one cares about the Note.

My opinion,
Good,
1. Not turn wider is correct
2. 16:9 screen is great
3. Thinner and lighter than 4s is good, but not so important

Con,
1. Looks ugly on back(not same color)and bottom(those holes), jobs is dead, so nobody can control ivy
2. Changed port, but not a usb3
3. Changed sim card

I will not upgrade
Is it possible to make aluminum white? Because it sure isn't possible to magee the entire back aluminum.

I don't like the headphone jack at the bottom. When I'm not at home, my phone is in my pocket 99% of the time. Which means while I'm walking around town listening to music, it'll be upside down. Like many, I like to pull it slightly out to check the time. Not exactly the end of the world or anything and I'll likely be getting one when my current contract is up in April, but it's just a preference. Who knows, maybe I'll find the new way better.

Push the button on your headphones and ask Siri.

Great presentation as always.. but really not that much more advanced than the 4S and no 'game changing' feature like Siri. Plus, IOS 6 and maps is bound to be ***** in the UK (like Siri business search currently is) so really the next generation is a bit of a downgrade. I'll happily stay with Siri and my lovely reliable google maps, thank you. Bit of a fail there Apple!

I feel just the opposite. Fell in love with the white 4S, but I think the white iPhone 5 looks weird.

Same for me about the 4S, but not quite about the 5; both look great, but I've never been more torn between which of the two to select.

Holy crap... that Anandtech video makes Google's Project Butter look like Project Molasses. And yes, I own a Nexus 7, so I am well aware of how one of the best mobile processors running Jelly Bean performs.

Forget the iPhone; the iPod touch is what has me drooling!

When they released the 4 you could preorder so that it arrived on launch day (mine actually came a day early). When they say 'ships' on launch day, does that mean there will be a delay between brick and mortar release and online order release?

But why did the headphone jack have to move? That's where my hand goes...

I don't always listen to music from my iPhone in my pocket, but when I do, I put it into my pocket upside-down so I don't have to turn it 180˚.

None of those articles or any other info I have found has mentioned what the Camera app looks like.

I can't possibly be the only person wondering how they display a 4:3 photo preview on a 16:9 screen. :)

(the iPhone 4S takes photos at 3264 X 2448 pixels which is 4:3... supposedly, the iPhone 5 does the same)

You are not alone.

So Im on bubble. May just buy iPhone and use until next android upgrade. Work pays so I can get a new phone yearly.

You should buy the S3 now and if you don't like it then you'll be prime for a iPhone 5S upgrade! ;)

But, seriously, I'm not against anyone owning an Android phone if it works for them.

Looks like the same guy who did the "Resolutionary" moniker when the Retina MacBook Pro came out. And probably the same guy behind the Apple Genius commercials. :D

Just Wow

I wasn't all that thrilled with the keynote. I'm biased and I'm still stuck on enjoying SJ's keynotes. However ,anything that will get me away from the assdroid community is worth every penny. Seriously though, after seeing the hands on video I was sold far more than through the keynote. I am buying this one, my first iPhone and then I'll be totally pc and assdroid free. Let freedom ring. I will not, however, turn into an arrogant flipflop wearing hippy and stop shaving. That's where I draw the line. Friday I'm burning some pre-order credit on the iPod touch and the iPhone 5. Woo to the hoo.

What's this assdroid...never heard of it.

Don't quit your day job Don Rickles

I can't upgrade my 4s till May so I think I'm gonna wait for the 5s or 6 or what ever is next in the iPhone world.

I'm just really excited for iOS6 honestly. Passbook is gonna be a huge thing for me, and so will the navigation! My 4S is already a beautiful device that's extremely fast and responsive. It'll have everything that the 5 has, minus the bigger screen.

Stoked for iOS6 next week!

I'm in the same boat, not eligible for an upgrade 'till June 2013.... unless I want to pay full price or try and get out of my contract (which would actually be cheaper than paying full price).

As far as iOS 6 goes, I've been using the developer betas and am downloading the GM right now... it's slick. There's a couple UI changes you'll need to get used to but I think it's a great improvement over iOS 5 (not that iOS 5 was bad).

Why do you need a radical redesign? Other than boredom perhaps?

Bored? No, i'm way too busy to be bored.

I wanted a radical redesign because i think the iPhone 4 design is ergonomically poor, I wanted more curves or rounded edges. To be honest, the iPhone 3G/S felt much better in the hand than the 4/S.

I was hoping for a 3GS and 4S kind of mix, maybe we'll see that for iPhone 6.

I wish i got the iPhone 4 in white but when i signed into contract it was only available in black sadly the iPhone 5 look sexy in black so this is my third black iPhone first the 3G than the 4 now the 5 i hope the next iPhone 2 years from now will look sexy in white like the iPhone 4 did so i can change colours lol.

Hell, the iPhone 4 is still smooth and fluid. That guy wasn't drinking the Kool-Aid, he was swimming in it.

I think he's equating low[er] latency to smoothness. The 4 and certainly the 4S have smooth UIs, but the 5 definitely moves between apps quicker (and we're kind of approaching less and less returns on faster CPUs).

Just watch the video - the features are really incredible.

The new Touch is very slick, nice non-phone, though with iMessage, Skype, etc., it's definitely a full featured communication device.
