All I needed to see

This post and the embedded video showed me all I needed to know. AT&T's LTE latency is just as bad if not worse than their 3G - and significantly slower than Verizon's. And now that vzw iPhone can support simultaneous voice and data over LTE, I'm gonna snap this up.

Yeah I'm so disappointed.

So this is how doubling security works for Apple. Remind me to not rely on any of these goons for anything to do with security.

Christ what a disappointment. Angels will fly out of my arse before I believe this is innovation.
With or without cream? What am I missing about security, Apple, iPhone 5 ??

I'm trying to guess which group of buyer that new iPhone is aiming at...

- IPhone 3GS owners:

Well I think for them it's a good thing to move to new iPhone with retina, CPU power....

- iPhone 4 owners:

Well in my mind fanboys as I will upgrade but for a common "basic" user, the iPhone 4 still fast, responsive and he has no clue about 4G and he is happy with his 7.2Mbits speed... So I doubt they will change except if the carriers do marketing and nice offers...

- iPhone 4S:
Upgrading to 5 will be only for ... Design? 4G (inexistant here in EU) and ?? So here except fanboys I doubt that the majority will buy the new one...

So to resume, if the majority of 4S & 4 community will not upgrade then I think this will be the first time that the number of sales will decrease...

I'm curious to see how the market will react, for now the Apple action is very fine :)

I think itll still sell like hotcakes.. i own a 4s and i cant wait for the 5 preorder to start tomorrow. Hopefully the decrease in interest in this new phone make it easier for us to get it preordered asap tomorrow. (less traffic)

Sueing for rounded corners...enough insanity for me. Hope this gets blocked the sooner the better.

This is what apple should have shown off.

Wow.. just wow!!

Galaxy note 2 - Next month!! Insane!

I'm impressed with the Note S, really impressed. But I'll still not be getting one.
There's something nice about a premium product, (yes I may sound like a snob). I know it's more money but regardless of what market you are in the same is true. An S or a Seven is somehow, (ignoring badge), just a nicer place to be than a Lex. It feels better quality - not saying it is, but it just feels that way.
This is something that Samsung dont' yet understand/have. Think about it, regardless of brand it takes a while for a company to understand what people will pay lots of money for.
From the video the way they call things sNote, where Apple might have said iNote just makes you think meh....
Anyway, the only thing that really should be on the iPhone is screen recording.

I went to the shops and looked for an alternative to the iPhone. So far I'm not sure but if I was going to switch it'd be the Windoze phone, (and I don't like M$ either), as when I picked it up like the iPhone, it said Quality to me.

I wonder how much is the unlocked version of the iPhone 5 will cost. It does not say yet.

Ding ding...which is why the white is superior...if that anodized aluminum gets scratched then it wont show like it will on the black.

However, white is more visually distracting. It's mentally easier to view content with a black bezel than a white one.

Finger stretching is a big one for me. I don't like bigger screens due to have to stretch out fingers, but if it works that your finger will reach everywhere, ok. But still 3.5" would have still been better..

just got a HTC One x (well it's my wife's but I'm using it for now. something completely new). And 1-handed operation is impossible for me with this thing. :/

I'm ok with the One X (a friend has it, we're always ribbing each other about the Apple/Android kinda thing) and while I admit it's a very nice device, for all its power there is still a fraction of lag when moving around the screen - for me that's a deal breaker. It shows that Android can't make the most of the hardware (as in the PC vs Mac debate also), that little bit of lag would just bug me...

Funny how many people complained about the length of the phone, the two tone design, the connector and other details. The people are the same saying how sexy it is and they can't wait to buy one, Every year the same bs lol ...

Definitely doesn't seem like that. If you look at the waves...they look like they are painted..same with the grass, etc..with brush strokes, etc.

I opened the full res versions in Photoshop (3264 x 2448). They are sufficient to make an 8 x 10 @ 300 dpi print, and what I would expect from an 8 Mp camera.

Viewed at actual pixel size it looks as you suggest but that would be considerably larger than my 27 inch monitor, though I could print that out on my Epson 7900.

Sorry, I'm not seeing what you are at normal viewing sizes.

Not me. This thing is just ugly. I've said this from day 0 when the iPhone 5 was leaked.

It's a boring rehash of the iPhone 4 design. Woo it's longer and has an aluminium back and a BS two-tone look.

:mad::rolleyes:

Jony Ive should be punched fair in the balls for this. His use of superlatives in the video makes me want to hurl.

I think this is right.

When I bought my 32Gb iPhone 4 on launch over two years ago I bought it contract free, so I could change in a years time for an updated model. Two years (and two updates) later I still don't see anything that makes it worth my while changing it.

This is the first iPhone that I won't be getting, there is just no killer feature here...

I am actually considering making the jump to the Nokia Lumia 920, however leaving the Apple Ecosystem would be hard.

I'm a massive Apple fan but the iPhone 5 just hasn't grabbed me to spend £££ to upgrade from my current iPhone 4. It's a nice evolutionary design, very 'safe' and certainly an improvement from the iPhone 4/4S but there isn't enough of a 'wow' factor to merit upgrading.

It's unusual for me because normally I can wait out one generation of a product before the second generation brings too much good stuff to resist, however this time round I'll sit this one out too.

What I will be jumping on at the first opportunity is the Nokia Lumia 920 because I really do feel this is a really innovative phone, both in terms of the Nokia handset physically along with its technical features, and the Windows Phone 8 operating system. iOS is starting to feel a bit stale and I think I'll go try something new for a year or two and hope that Apple brings something new to the table in the next phone (assuming they don't continue the current tick-tock trend and simply introduce a faster '5S' model next year).

As you say though, there will be some difficulty and reluctance unpicking some of my stuff from the Apple ecosystem but needs must...

Welcome to the Real World

Welcome to the Real "Fragmented" World of Smart Phones! Let us see from here where Apple goes.

Upgrades are usual, on the expected lines but does not make you itch for this phone immediately. We might change our opinions after seeing them real and flush out in the market after sometime.

I initially thought I would not buy 4S but ended up owning it. May be I would watch it until 5S comes out!

Move along...nothing to see here.....

......after all we've seen umpteen amount of leaks over the months...we all knew what was coming...so these announcements are becoming boring..the iPhone will not take a radical change in style...because its pretty much perfect...but people get bored...remember when the first iPhone come out..That was awesome...but now, there becoming sickly with the "we've created something fannnntasssticccc" phrase are stomach churning with all the whoop whoop and clapping...my 4gs will be fine with ios6 me thinks.
