I'd still prefer to be in your position...UPS says by "end of day." They are also unpredictable in their delivery time, so it could happen at any moment. Hard to concentrate on work. Maybe I'll just play L.A Noire all day. ;)
 
I decided ona whim to call UPS to ask if it will be delivered, and I should stay home gazing out the window, or if it would be tomorrow and I can actually leave my house.

It is getting delivered today!.... before 8pm... damn it all. Back to the window I go.

4:44 PM EST and no delivery still.
 
Mine just arrived from Fedex, in pristine scratchless condition. USPS just brought me my Speck case to keep it in pristine condition. All is well with the world.

I really like this new model case. Has a pull out tab to either stand the phone up or sideways. Should be good for taking night shots since these things don't exactly have tripod mounts. Plus I usually use an alarm clock app and would always have to find something to prop it up.

Now to sell my iphone 4 32GB. Best online price I've seen so far is $267.
 
Finally have both phones!

I received my first White 16GB (Sprint) that I preordered on the 14th at 4:15am EST on launch day at 7:29pm (UPS), the second phone (16GB Black - Sprint) ordered on 9/15 at 6am EST arrived today at 4:08pm EST. :)
 
After waking up at 4 am EST to order the phone from Apple.com, 18 days later it finally arrived at 6:05pm EST via UPS.

I know others are having to waiter longer but this pre-order was a freaking mess.
 
1 down and 1 to go.

Both ordered at same time, mid afternoon on the 15th at the AT&T store. Both shipped from Fort Worth on the 29th, half hour a part. FedEx wins the 2day air service challenge with the white arriving before the black which is coming via that awful brown company who shan't be named. In fact it is now not coming til the 3rd!

My special someone is gloating, yet she can't set up the phone on her own. Will chivalry get the best of me? :D

FedEx lost my iPhone

FedEx had schedule to deliver my iPhone 5 today by 3 pm, I took the day off from work. Weighting all day at home for the driver to show up, never happened. When I tracked the package by the FedEx tracking number it was saying that the driver left it at the front door. I am still recovering from this BS.
FedEx has to hire the right people or require signature for every package!

I have more time now. My observation that a company in the package delivery business, with advanced warning should be able to tag an item as a temporary hold or a preferred delivery date. Does that sound difficult? To make this happen at UPS requires more effort than it should. They don't want to do anything with the package until a delivery attempt has been made. If they do hold it in advance of delivery, then they want you to come get it. In my case, that is a 30 mile drive which I would prefer not to do.

I was away from home on a trip. I was afraid they'd make 3 delivery attempts and then possibly return the item to Apple although since then I've been advised it would just be held locally (30 miles away) for me to come get it. Delivery was moved up by Apple. Changing delivery dates required a request from the shipper, not me the recipient. I've made 4 calls to Apple and 4 to UPS. Today, I believe the item is going to be delivered, although it does not reflect that on the UPS tracking. When I call them at the 800 number, they call the local UPS center, and now I'm waiting for the local center to call me back. This is a signature required package so I'd prefer not to sit home all day if it's not going to be delivered.

I get tons of packages from UPS and normally like them as a company, however this coordination effort resulting from my travel schedule has irritated me. Instead of seamless or online, everything during this scenario required phone calls and waiting for call backs from UPS. What do I know about package delivery, but my impression is should be easier than this...

My understanding is that at least with UPS, Apple requires a signature. I can't imagine leaving any computer, tablet, or phone by your front door. I'd guess someone messed up.

Will be interesting to find out as FedEx left my first phone on my doorstep yesterday. Noting in the logs that they were "authorized to leave the package without signature"

I wonder who authorized that?, the shipper?

We'll see what happens when UPS finally delivers my package 2 days late! Interesting how 2nd day air goes via truck from Dallas to Wichita since the final destination is in Kansas I'm guessing they ain't flying it from Wichita. :)
 
Way faster than estimated

64G black iPhone 5 ordered through Verizon on the 24th. Estimated ship date was October 19th. Called on the status to Verizon today and they gave me the tracking number saying it'll be arriving today. 17 days early.

Apple would be the shipper and I doubt it. On my UPS tracking info it specifically says "signature required". I can't imagine Apple or UPS leaving stuff like this on the front step. Ultimately if you called back and asked, "where is my item?" someone would be on the hook for it and it would not be you.

Update: UPS is now torturing me. The truck arrived to deliver a package for my wife and the driver told me he had the phone yesterday, but someone had put "change of address" on it. Clutching my heart and dashed back into the house, called UPS yet again and was told it should be on another truck, delivered today. Lol, grrrrr. ;)

Update2: 8pm, NO PHONE. :mad:

Update: received my phone and am up and running. I'd say this is great news to anyone else with a long estimated delivery time. Was not expecting to even receive this this week!

I am surprised UPS is not getting me a rough estimate when my package should be coming. I am on 2nd day Air so I guess around Thursday maybe earliest Wednesday. It was shipped out on October 2st

Wow thats great! I was forced to wait to order mine on the 26th, so hopefully mine can ship sooner too! Grats man! Although mine was AT&T, I think they are all shipped from Apple.

Wow this is awesome! I ordered mine on the 25th, and the estimated shipping time is 3-4 weeks so it would be around october 25th-30th til I get my phone. But after reading this I have a little more hope! Hopefully my turn will come soon :)
 
hey all i was waiting on mine to be delivered and lucky me i found some available at Radio Shack so if your hunting one give em a shot i lucked up so can you
 
is radio shack locked to a carrier?

cause mine is taking so long to be shipped to be shipped and canada. and my mom leaves canada to come back soon. might ask her to check radio shack if its factory unlocked. haha
 
Hmmm...ordered 12 days ago and shipment is finally pending (from AT&T)...was quoted 2-3 weeks, so I guess pretty much right on schedule...or slightly early.
 
quick question.

so i ordered two iphones in apple.ca. and they've been in processing since then. but just awhile ago, i think my mom changed the delivery address (from our aunts to our place instead). would this change delay the process?
 
Ordered 18 days ago from Apple Online, 16GB black AT&T...
2-3 weeks delivery, still in process and haven't heard a word from them...
People that ordered several days after me (also 16GB black) have already either gotten their phones, or have received emails alerting them to the status change to "preparing for delivery" or have been assigned tracking numbers...

I don't get it...:confused:
 
I'm having the same issue. Ordered mine on the 17th from Apple. 16gb AT&T black. 2-3 weeks for shipping. Ordered one for my dad on the 19th same specs. He got his early last week. It's very irritating.
 
I haven't seen any status changes on my order, it'll still come tomorrow, right?
