Not necessarily, Apple customers are smart. They're waiting for iPhone 6.
Shut up and take my money.

I think people here forget that their are normal people in the world that don't care about having the best iphone out there.... they see the color iphones are are like holy... and think of all the blue shoes they can match it with haha.. ok that may only be a few like that but still the majority like the colors.. it's just us picky people who need to have the best thing out...
I like them both about the same now but initially I liked the 5s more but now I think about it like dayum I think I like the 5c.There's so much crap on this forum that is just flat-out wrong, it's hard to fathom.
This is NOT an iPhone 5 with a plastic case. Anyone who thinks that didn't watch the keynote. The design on the inside is different as well. AFAIK, the 5 doesn't have a steel-reinforced frame. The battery is larger.
I don't think the 5c will sell poorly at all. I actually like the design better than the 5s, and I suspect it will hold up better to falls. I'd be happy using the 5c without a case; the 5s, not so much. I'm going to get one of these, still not sure which one yet. Like the design of the 5c more, but the fingerprint unlock and improved camera draw me to the 5s. The better/faster processor is not terribly important - these things already have more than enough processing firepower, unless you're a serious gamer (who has the time?)

+1.. no demands for the 5C... what a waste of R&D.
Generally..... most people want the latest and the greatest!
I see that Apple is rotating the color of the iPhone 5c on their home page but yellow was the first color I saw after the keynote and it was the only one for a while. I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

I don't necessarily agree with the point either, but, hey, the 5C isn't going to sell because it's slimmer or more sleek (uncommon for Apple, it's a plumper new generation); it's not going to sell because of internals (basically nothing has changed since iPhone 5); the camera isn't much better; the A6 chip isn't new anymore.
Okay, it's a hundred dollars cheaper. Is that what you want to hear, that what makes 5C a buy isn't the candy-shell, but a $100 lower price?
Am I the only one who thinks "banana phone" every time I see the yellow one?
I am in the camp that believes they will sell a ton of iPhone5c. I have 3 kids, and I would definitely buy them the 5C before the 5S. Why? Because they just don't need a top of the line smartphone. It may not be the optimal decision with regard to $ per spec, but top of the line can send the wrong message IMHO. I am not judging, since everyone's situation is different. Nevertheless, a lot of parents were buying or handing down to their kids the prior year's model, and the 5C is a nice option to the old paradigm....even if the specs are close to identical with the prior model.
I also believe a fair number of adults will purchase the 5C. My wife has no need for the latest technology. She and her friends use less than half of their phones capability and they are very happy with their phones. I think some folks will view the 5c as a durable and practical smartphone alternative to the high end 5s. The 5s is a beautiful phone......almost like a piece of jewelry, but it just might be more than most folks need.
Finally, I am not surprised that the 5C did not sell out rapidly. I suspect they have a healthy supply, since the hardware is basically unchanged from last year. Also, this isn't a phone that people rush out to buy on launch so they can have the latest and greatest. It is more like a phone that people will purchase as first time smartphone users or as part of their normal upgrade cycle.
Remember the 5C as the greatest flop from Apple in the recent years.

It will be very interesting to see the sales numbers for this over the next year but I suspect that Apple will combine the 5C and 5S sales numbers into one figure so we never get to see if it's a hit or a flop. I just think it's too expensive and not sufficiently cheaper than the 5S to make it a sensible alternative for many people. I think they would have been better to drop the 4S and make the 5C their entry level product instead.
The colors sealed it for me. I was so bored with the white and black that I was considering other brands.I don't know why would anyone buy a 5c when for $100 more they can get a 5s, it would have made sense if it was at least $200 cheaper.

I think it didn't sell out quickly because a) it's an incremental improvement from the 5, b)it's not much cheaper than the 5S, so people that didn't get the 5 and are sitting on their 4s would probably rather pony up the extra $100 to get the flagship, and c) I think the colors offered are aimed more at females and children, I doubt many grown men would really want a pastel-colored plastic phone (why no grey or black option?).
I think the biggest screwup made by Apple was not selling it unlocked, for cheaper. It might not have sold big in the US, but in Asia, it would be flying off the shelves. Many stories I've read indicate disappointment in the high price. This may be partially due to the pre-announcement about the "C" meaning inexpensive.
Apple will actually make more money.
Plastic + iPhone 5 parts = cheaper/no R&D

No way. It will be very popular, sell well and make Apple a fortune.
