That's what I am guessing too that it's probably a lot easier to mass-produce this phone. It's surely not just the cost of aluminium that pushes up the cost of producing an iPhone, but the production methods, and the number of phones that get rejected and returned.
I just wonder if they've priced it too high to really create the demand they're hoping for.
If only the front side if the 5C would be white then I would like it.
Why would anyone order the 5C instead of the 5S for
I hope the sales numbers are low, so Apple can get the point, but I have a feeling they won't be hurt as far as sales, people will still line up and buy it why I have no idea, there are better options out there instead of the 5C, most obvious one is the 5S
I genuinely do not understand the excitement.
This is just an iPhone 5 and Apple released it 12 months ago.
This, quite literally, is Malibu Stacey's new hat.

and can you imagine the customer service nightmare of selling the iPhone 5 as a $0 or $99 item? From my experience, the cheaper the product the worse the customers are going to act. If Apple thought they had a lot of complaints when it was $200-400, just wait until the free phone crowd gets to scratching/dropping it.
Yea, I agree. I would like it better too if there were white fronts as well. Reminds me of the 3G/3GS days.

I'm pretty sure it's the iPhone 5c. Yes most of the specs are the same, and if I had an iPhone 5 I wouldn't upgrade to the 5c, but compared to the 5 it has better battery life…
an improved camera
and above all, a much nicer design.

Yes.
No.
No.
The 5C has a bigger & better battery than the 5 and better front facing camera. Nothing major but it's still an improvement.I genuinely do not understand the excitement.

Maybe it doesn't have an improved camera. I was going by what someone else said earlier.
But as for design, that's just a matter of opinion. I personally hate the 2 tone design, especially on the slate iPhone 5 and the space grey 5s.
The excitement is that there's actually an alternative to the horrible iPhone 5/5s design that looks damn cheap. I always wanted an iPod Touch design as an iPhone. And that's what I'm getting. It pays tribute to the 3G/3GS design in some respects.I genuinely do not understand the excitement.

It's weird that everyone is freaking out that there are phones still available, but no one is taking into account that there are what, 5 color choices and two capacity sizes. Do you realize that because there's more options (than two colors and three capacities.) that it's very probable the pre-orders haven't sold out in seconds, and likely won't sell out for a while?
Thats fine if you were the owner of an iphone 5. If you have the 3gs/4/4s, then its an upgrade.
Because the phone is available in so many different colours there will be even less available in each colour. That makes logical sense.
The fact that ALL are still available for day 1 delivery speaks volumes (no pun intended).
For the past few years I've logged on to the store app on launch day at launch second, crash, crash, crash, crash, and when finally get to place my order I miss the launch day delivery.
2 hours in and every colour is still available for day 1 delivery.

and $1129 for the most expensiveChecked the Australian (Apple) site. $869.00 for a iPhone5c 32GB you had got to be kidding me.
If you aren't sure about if that was sarcasm you need to go take a break from the Internet.
