I wonder why no black iPhone 5C? - that's a sane colour I'd actually be interested in, especially since they all have the black front. I guess they want you to buy the 5S for that, a bit sneaky in my opinion. No good reason not to do black other than it taking sales from the 5S that I can think of.

Ha ha. Yes. And put a bigger screen on it.

And a quality finish.

And more memory.

And not rehash the old one ina cheap plastic 'magical' case and sell it for the same as the old one.

Come on. That won't happen.

So buy, buy, buy!!!

As an aside... I have a Seat Ibiza car and they've brought a new tartan colour for 2014. It's very striking. I only bought my last Ibiza six months ago but that change alone is enough for me to sell off my "old" one ... Make a massive financial loss and fork out more cash to be 'up to speed' with the latest design.

Some people say I have ... Well alright. Everyone ... Says I have more money than sense. Really? Well ... Those same people told me years and years ago I would never be a comedian.

They're not laughing now! Are they?

If they aren't laughing means you are a bad comedian... :p ;)

It has year old internals and worse build quality (I like how Apple apologists now talk about their scientific knowledge of quality vs. cheap plastic while before the 5c all plastic was junk).

The 5 has been selling for $99 for the last couple of months if you looked in the right places. What exactly is fantastic about the 5c except the color?

Apple has always done it right. The old MacBooks were constructed from a premium precision engineered poly-carbonate. And it's the same with the 5C. That's why Jony Ive says Apple is unashamed of this, because the product is top quality with absolutely no visible seams. Samsung's are not seamless, they are not rugged, they are flimsy cheap plastic toys.

These 'jokes' are getting old.

Thing is, I don't think think they are jokes. I actually think the people who say 'Steve would never have...' genuinely think they're being insightful and original, while simultaneously forgetting every questionable decision Steve Jobs ever made.

What are you even talking about? Have you allready forgotten Steve?

He is BY FAR the best thing that ever happened to Apple... And now, when Cook starts to go against Steve's will, all goes down the drain....

All the years Steve worked to get Apple where it is today will be for nothing when in 5 years they won't even exist...

Sad truth for Apple.... and I am absolutley sure when I say that Steve would NEVER allow this to happen.

I have a 5 and typically update every other year. The touch ID and faster chip is nice but as much as I am a die-hard Apple fan, there are two key issues:

1. Next year's 6 needs to come in two sizes, a 4.8-5 inch screen to rival the competitors because people do want bigger, and the current size. And not just keeping the 5S around, but actually offering the new model in two sizes that both get whatever new hardware bells and whistles come along.

2. While I have been beta testing iOS 7 I would have to say that some features are nice, but on the whole there are simply too many mistakes and wrong turns. Getting away from skeumorphism is a good idea, there are still issues with the new iOS. Probably the biggest is the reluctance to make an even larger paradigm shift. This was the first real shakeup and they didn't take advantage of the change to really change. A few features and different colors/icons/styles doesn't count.

Here's to hoping for some real innovation for iOS 8 or 9 in the next year or two as well as with the iPhone 6.

Because adding .7" to the screen size is "real innovation"?

No need for you to come here and joke around...

it's as close as it gets to be a FACT that Steve would never ever allow people to destroy everything he built up like this.

If Apple doesn't discontinue the mobile division and instead focus on the Mac-division, this decade will surely be the last for them...

I'm sad becuase I like apple, And I'm sad that Cook goes against Steve's will.

Steve should be honored, not ignored.

You do understand that the same guy Steve selected and that designed all the successful products for Apple during Jobs reign designed these products, right? Cook is not designing the products.

So with all of these 5c pre-orders having no issues, it seems that the lines next Friday would be only for the 5s?

I think this phone is going to be a big hit in Asia. Could just be timezone, but tweets were coming in non stop from there regarding the 5C this morn.

I was almost going to preorder. Still may. I need to see those colors in person though. In one pic I like that blue, then in another it looks different.

Do not dissapoint Steve... Don't buy anything he wouldn't Allow.

Wait for iPhone 6.

I guess they just want all bright colours. But I do agree black would have been nice :). I went for white though which looks great anyway imo.

This is beyond me, how a well respected company like Apple can go do something like this...

Steve did not build this enterprise to make decisions like this, and release products like this....

I bet he would not have allowed this. :(

Hehe and you are not him. All you are doing is putting your opinion in his name to get more credibility. I can easily argue that he would have fully support the decision for a 5c.

If Apple did not launch 5c, they would have left with 5 at 545 unlock price point. Now at least they dress up the 5 with different exterior and allow them to market 5c to a different group of customers. And everyone seems to forget that a version of 5c support TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA which China Mobile run on. China Mobile has about 175M 3G users last Q. By repackaging 5 into 5C, Apple has a shot to convert a portion of those 175m users. That sound like a good enough reason for me.

If you have an opinion about the world, state in under your name. Don't try to put word in a dead guy's mouth when he cannot defend himself. None of us know Steve personally and I seriously think that you know what he think about this issue.

Maybe, but I don't see why people need to keep wondering what he would have done. And I just hear it so much on this forum that it gets a little annoying :(.

Please explain how you are so privy to the intentions of Mr. Jobs. Thanks.

Lol what .. how do you know what Steve would and wouldn't have done? Just let Tim do his job.

Wow lol

I wouldn't be bragging

Well for the first time ever I'll be using and iPhone without a case. Something I've always wanted to do but never was able to. I think this will last me 2 years and the durability is a plus.

And I actually made $100 off this trade since I just got credited for the AppleCare on my 5, so it was worth it to me.

Why would anyone want last years hardware wrapped up in plastic for only $100 less? If you're really concerned about $100 then I highly doubt you'd have an iPhone.
