Problem with my account??

Now when I go to the website with my "reservation" number, I get the following:

Please try again later.

There seems to be a problem with your AT&T account. If it continues, please visit an Apple Retail Store or contact AT&T at 1-800-331-0500. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm really hoping this is also due the the validations servers being slammed and not that my account is suddenly screwed up. That would be too coincidental.
 
to the people who ordered gold, are you guys using the phone naked or what? it's so hard tos how off the gold since it's under where you usually put the case

I ordered mine without a case. I'll trek down to my Apple store and see what the options are. The case Apple is selling says "leather", and I'm sure it's not "real" leather, so I want to go see one in person before I buy it, or look third party.
 
Does anyone know if your "upgrade eligibility" re-appears right away if you cancel an order (from Apple)? Be interesting to try if the line at the Apple Store isn't too bad in the morning....

It won't be instant, trust me. And you'll be setting yourself up for hours of back and forth over the phone with your carrier. Don't do it.
 
I touched the app at 12:01:01 and sailed right through - 64GB Gold (I had to go South Beach, baby!) Got the confirmation email from Apple at 12:03. Ships 1-3 days.!

I got my confirmation notice at 12:06 for a 32gb att gold with a shipping of 7-10 days with delivery 10/8 to 10/11. So, that color must REALLY be popular!
 
So, I never saw any option for expedited / faster shipping. Of course, I was trying to be fast, but also accurate, while being very excited, so maybe I just missed it?

I assume I can change my order to the faster shipping via the link in the email?

I saw the "faster shipping" button right as I clicked place order and was like 'Oh.' as the success screen came up. It was fairly small and easy to miss. It was right above some terms and conditions that I had to accept.

Apple started taking orders for its flagship iPhone 5s in the U.S. and Canada at midnight Pacific Time after the phone launched earlier today in 8 other countries around the world. Most locales have seen tight supplies of all capacities and colors, with the gold model said to be particularly difficult to come by.

The iPhone 5s is available directly from Apple via the Apple Online Store and the Apple Store iOS App [Direct Link], with the iOS app historically more resilient against traffic surges than the online store.

Initial orders from the Apple Online Store will ship within 1-3 days.

In the U.S., Apple is selling the 16GB iPhone 5s on most carriers for $199 with a two-year contract, while the 32GB and 64GB versions are $299 and $399 respectively. T-Mobile is offering the 5s for $99 down plus 24 monthly payments of $22.91 per month.

There is also an unlocked GSM version of the 5s available for $649 (16GB), $749 (32GB), and $849 (64GB). All capacities come in Space Grey, Silver, or Gold.

The iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, with the latter available for pre-order for the past week, will be available in U.S. Apple Retail, carrier and select third-party reseller stores beginning later today. Lines are already forming at retail outlets around the country.

Anyone know how I can change the shipping address for my Apple store order? It defaults to our AT&T billing address, which is my family, on the other side of the country. This happened last year when I ordered my 5 and I was able to change it. But now when I go to edit the shipping address it says that the policy of the wireless carrier only allows the phone to be shipped to the billing address

You aren't the only one. Let me know how it goes. I need help also. I think you need to talk to an operator and Apple is slammed right now.
 
I just got a Space Grey iPhone 5s 64GB on T-Mobile's website, through logging onto my account and hitting the "upgrade" option. Estimated ship time is September 23rd. Not bad. Better estimates than the Apple Website on unlocked phones...
 
Stressful Purchase

Apple's upgrade site was really confusing...

I selected to UPGRADE my AT&T line, but the store was asking to change my plan!

If i didn't want to change my plan I had to reselect my current plan... I'm like omg they are trying to trick me out of my current plan.

The verbiage of the rate plans in the list didn't match my current plan I started freaking out... I was like, Sh-it I have to buy the phone or I'll lose it, but I can't lose my hell sweet $34 a month 900 minute rate plan!!!

I picked what i thought was mine but was still confused as phawk cuz it didn't say promo 900, which is the name of my rate plan.

Eventually I saw on the last screen no "rate change"!

WTF AT&T & Apple, trying to snake me out of my good plan phawkin bitches!

Cell companies are sooo greedy... I still don't even know if I am phawked or not... Now I have to make the dreaded call to sh-iT&T tomorrow, I cannot call them tonight cuz they cannot staff on the day of a huge launch:mad:.... US Cell Companies suck ass hair!

At least I got my 64GB shipping in 3 days!
 
They have said/rumours for a while that gold was in short supply from production, but I'm sure the huge appeal of it helped nuke it's inventory. All understandable as well as the shipping times going up.

However, what is find bs and not acceptable is that for whatever reason y ou can't upgrade through apple for Canadian provider... No idea why but that's kind of bs, maybe they have a valid reason why ... But that basically leaves your only option to get subsidized waiting in line for sushi ever, because none often. Canadian providers I've seen have any optionsucp until this morning around 8... So, hues inaccessible to try to get one from Rogers that will be mental this mornings, store or phone so basically my hopef or gold 32 anytime soon are shot lol. Will call as soon as. They open but I'm sure it will already be like 3 week delay before they get any to ship out...

Sorry for the rant! Just find it annoying Canadians can't upgrade through apple when the device came out like the us ( and other countries maybe?)... Giving our already delayed times more of a delay. :(
 
Ordered 5S Space Gray 64gb Verizon for in store pickup tomorrow through BestBuy.com hopefully it works, have never bought through a 3rd party retailer before. Anybody have any experience with this in store pick up?:apple::apple:

I just ordered the same, full price. Apple wouldn't sell full price, Best Buy would (even though it was $899 instead of $849 :confused: ). I have always ordered from Apple directly, so I guess I'm with you to see how it works out. Nice part is we can pick it up on release date of the 20th!!! :apple:
 
You mean get here from China in three days? Not impossible, but that's a full week+ from the earliest ship estimates. That's seems exceedingly optimistic.

For those who chose expedited shipping, it's explicitly listed as "2-3 Business Days" from whenever it ships.

That said, one thing is odd. I ordered a case with my phone (32GB gray AT&T). Both the phone and case are listed as "Available to ship: 1-3 business days" on my confirmation, but the delivery date range for the case is two days earlier than the phone.

I'd say Monday might be tough but Wed shipments could be in the cards.

UPDATE: Success. They changed the shipping address, no questions asked. Just took a long time on hold.

I'd say Monday might be tough but Wed shipments could be in the cards.

Plus they might be shipping from distribution centers in the U.S. (I remember reading something last week about shipments already making their way via air-freight).

Did the Apple Store process ask you to change your rate plan when you were trying to just upgrade?
 
64 GB Space Gray AT&T @ 12:06am - ships 1-3 business days. (Through the Apple Store app.)

When I checked at around 12:25am, it had slipped to 7-10 days. For fun, I checked other models. The 16 & 32 GB were still 1-3 days for both Space Gray and silver. Gold just said October.

NOT TRUE ANYMORE, my order is now saying October! It's the Sprint 16 GB Gold IPhone 5S.
 
Darn "subsidized" versions are still shipping in 1-3 business days but the non-contract/T-Mobile ones aren't shipping for 7-10, at least now after an hour. Oh, well. No sense extending my contract and getting a locked phone over $200.
