No way. It'll be closer to (on contract):

5C 8GB $0
5C 16GB $99
5S 32GB $199
5S 64GB $299
5S 128GB $399

I'm just glad this is finally coming out. I've hated my black iPhone 5. After being on white iPhones and iPads for a bit, I switched only because I thought the black with the shiny edges was pretty sexy. Not the case. This thing scratches and dings so much it looked like I bought a used phone 4 months into it. I had to do a repair swap about 6 months in, and I begged the Apple Store guy to switch me to white, but he couldn't.

Agreed. I have been feeling the exact way about mine. I accidentally brushed it against my car keys once and the edge already hot dinged up. Aluminum on a phone is a durability nightmare.

What, so irrespective of the performance, you'll pass because of the numbers? Like it says in the original article, because Apple are controlling the whole design process of all the components, they can optimise their use in a way that other manufacturers can't. Just because a Samkia Whatever III has got 8GB of RAM doesn't mean an iPhone needs it to perform as well.

Quite simply, you can never have enough RAM. It does not matter how optimized iOS 7 is, if you throw more RAM at it, it'll work better. Not all third party apps will be this optimized, some of them will use lots of RAM.

After constantly having to refresh apps in 3GS, I just want more RAM! Some people want a faster processor, some want a bigger screen, for me it's RAM and camera.

There are no reports of 8GB parts in Apple's supply chain.

I hope the 128g doesn't carry an extreme premium price. Not sure about gold/champaign color, I can't picture it even looking good.

We will see in a few weeks!

Usually when they introduce a higher capacity device, they knock out the current lowest capacity device, and just shift all the device prices down a notch. So the 128GB would most likely be the same price as the current top model. However if they decide to keep the low capacity model, then yeah, could potentially see a higher price tag.

So his iPhone 3 that can't record video, has few apps anymore, and has a terribly low pixel camera hasn't run out of space?

The iPhone 3G never had a 4GB, only the original iPhone did, and it was discontinued not long after worldwide release.

Gold iPhone, 128 Gb? So lame. Won't buy it until it's covered with Swarowski crystals.

iPhone 5S can record in native 4K resolution, thats why it must have 128GB of storge....

In fact I love the gold color!

You could buy an iPhone 5, which isn't already over FOUR years old like your 3GS, and have 4 times the RAM and a much better camera.

Your milage in downtown Riad may vary.

Perhaps you mean Riyadh?

The base memory is meaningless as long as customers can buy what they want. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who buy the 16GB model.

No it isn't – it's about offering double-space as the new base model for the same price as technology evolves and gets cheaper. Same thing as with your MacBooks some years ago had 1 GB RAM standard, then 2 GB, now 4 GB or got bigger hard drives or faster processors or ... It isn't rocket science, what's so difficult to understand? It's time to make 32 GB standard on iPhones.

I can't be the only one hoping this has co-branding with Donald Trump.

Something really, really classy.

This MUST be sarcasm. Please tell me this is sarcasm?

If not, we've experienced a first, ladies and gentlemen. The first time the word "classy" and "Donald Trump" have ever been used in the same sentence (and not meant as sarcasm).

Here's a quick mockup I made of what the color could look like. Its not a 5S obviously (no dual LED Flash, etc.) but a decent look at what it may look like.

EDIT: Editors feel free to add it to the article as an example or something...

Would love to see what that would look like with iOS 7.

Won't judge until I see it.

The parts have already been leaking, so it's pretty much a sure thing. But it's not GOLD gold rather the "champagne" color that is mentioned in the article. Very subdued, like a tint of gold on silver, not garish. I could see it being very, very popular.

I don’t think I’ll want one, but if it sells well, I’m all for it. And if it doesn’t sell well, it won’t be an option with the iPhone 6

Gold? That could look kind of gross.

I'm assuming that because everyone's OS looks identical and Apple allows no customization, the only way you'll feel different from everyone else is to allow changing the shell colour.

That is one thing I appreciate about Android. I can easily setup my OS to look anyway I like, just by downloading apps and icons from the Play store.

I use no case on my iPhone 5 and have been terribly impressed with how well it holds up. I've even dropped it on concrete a few times and you can barely tell. The only sign of wear is along the back edges, mostly by the corners. Overall, I've been extremely impressed with how well the anodized aluminum finish has held up, and I can say the same for the aluminum frame itself.

Remember that old saying "Don't throw stones in a glass house"? The problem there is not the house, it's the stones. And even if you think the house is the problem, then you only seem to be in the wrong house with inappropriate expectations. Nothing is inherently wrong with the house just because you can't take care of it properly. And don't come back trying to qualify your expectations because you're not the one who built the house.

So I don't know what you're doing with your phone, but either take better care of the expensive thing you seem to own or go get a case for it.
