Every year there are leaks, every year people say the leaks are fake… and usually the leaks turn out to be accurate.

I remember this with iPhone 4, the 5, and 6. I don't think this is a fake.

The hardware in this will be at least on par with the iPhone 6 which is currently $550. How do you expect apple to sell it for half of that?
If they don't sell a cheaper option they will continue to lose market share. Consumers will not spend +700 on phones every cycle now that subsidies are gone. Apple gets very good pricing on components, they could charge much less on all their product lines but choose to pass off higher prices to the consumer.

I agree. The person who posted this photo also posted the iPad Air in August of 2013. Its funny because the photo is on the same wooden surface as in this photo.

NOT ENOUGH CHOICES IN THE POLL!!

4.3" would be the best size...still one hand-able, could be the same size as iPhone 5/5s if done right, but a little more screen real estate.

I have had iPhone 6, now 6s 4.7", and my old iPhone 5 screen looks tiny, but, I hate that I have to use a case on my iPhone now because, when you try to one-hand use it, you have to hold it in such a way as to not have a good grip on it, feels like it will slip out of my hand, and it is still too difficult to reach the top left corner, and , no, reachability is not the answer.

The iPhone 6/6s 4.7" is also just a bit big in my pocket.

I was sorely disappointed when early iPhone 6 rumors of 4.3" & 5.1" sizes did not come true, and apple made them too big.

I luv the 6s, but, would prefer it was 4.3"

Why? Why "5se"? Why March? Why lower specs?
A smaller lower resolution screen needs less GPU power. A smaller battery also requires lower power consumption (maybe a lower clock speed). Also a smaller aluminium surface provides less room for heat dissipation. All good reasons why smaller computers always tend to be slower. I think, it's still pretty high-tech and as long as you don't do 4K video editing ...

Well Mark Gurman now says this new 4" phone will come with A9 and M9 processors and 16/64 GB storage options. Also it will replace the 6 and 6 Plus this fall. All of that makes sense except for calling it 5se. Call it iPhone 6 mini or something. 5se would be a disaster.

If Apple wants the new 4" phone to sell well they need it to have the internals of the 6S. If it has the internals of the 6 they are crippling it right out of the gate and it want sell as well. I want a 4" phone myself but I don't want it with old tech. I want it to be the same as the 6S just in a smaller form factor. Guess we will have to wait to see what Apple comes out with.

This!
Why would Apple at this point go backwards and use old technology for a new product (Which will sell well)
So, 6S internals in a 4" shell.
Same component buying mostly, plus a few challenges to shrink things.

Have a 6S Plus now with the power button on the side and agree with other posters.
Bad change by Apple, form doesn't follow function here. Very impractical.
Can't tell how often I am still pressing on the top. Will take a while to get used to.

6 AIR, since it is smaller and theoretically lighter.

BTW: I expect a very weak March event.

It looks good, but I think Apple started this iPhone 5SE rumor maybe to find the mole who is leaking info. That person is probably out of a job right now. They will likely call it iPhone 6c. I personally have no interest in ever downgrading, in fact, I am thinking of going bigger when I do plan to buy a future iPhone (which is not anytime soon). So its more Plus for me. I have the 6s right now, its a good size, but I really wanted the plus, they only had 16 GB models in stock. We likely won't see the 7c until the 7s is released.

A9/M9 and 2GB RAM is a requirement for me, but if we get that, I am all in on this "5SE".

And given the name, I don't think it'll look like a mini 6..
A9/M9 would possibly make me interested in this. I currently have a 6S+, but I miss having such a small phone.

What I really want is a 7 with a resolution increase so that it uses 3x assets like the Plus line.

Or Apple is doing a better job at keeping secrets. How much of the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil leaked? Or maybe this March event (if there is one) will be more software focused.

Don't think they SHOULD replace both the 6 and 6+, I think it should be put in the lineup alongside them

So you have this 4" phone, the 6 and 6 Plus, 6S and 6S Plus and the 7 and 7 Plus? That's 7 phones in the lineup. Makes no sense. Especially if this 4" model is using an A9 chip.

It will. At least the 6S. Apple finally has a 4.7" phone they can sell to the Android crowd for free on contract. Right now the best they can do still costs $100. I think the 5.5" with the added specs Apple may still want to leave at a premium. Otherwise they'll leave it in the lineup too to further draw in the Android crowd. It doesn't make any sense to discontinue them for that reason alone.

If the 5se comes to pass, I expect it to sell for even less, maybe $350 or $400. And of course if that happens, then the rumors further suggest a more premium "6c" phone so that those who prefer 4" phones will pay more to get it, otherwise Apple is leaving money on the table - talk about not making sense!

But then what happens if you want to buy a cheaper iPhone, but don't want a 4" phone?

Ugly antenna bands? Check.

Power button badly placed opposed to volume keys? Check.

This leak looks like it has a good chance of being for real. Forget it. I'll wait for iPhone 7.

The antenna bands never bothered me, but I couldn't agree more about the power button on the side. They should've kept it up top. I'm surprised more people haven't complained about it on these forums.
