I'm going to be really pissed if I have to wait 4-6 weeks when I ordered 10 minutes past 3 AM. I also ordered an iPhone 6 for someone else in the family and that has been updated with the following:

Status: Your pre-order for the 16GB iPhone 6 is at our warehouse. Orders placed prior to 5:00 pm CT on 9/13, we¿ll do our best to get it to you by 9/19. Orders placed after 5:00 pm CT on 9/13 will ship in up to 3 weeks from order date. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience. For the latest shipping timelines, visit sprint.com/preorder.

Imagine placing a order 15 min past three but realize they screwed up then spend next 40 min trying to get back in and once finished get an email the next day it's on hold and to call them to verify u are who u say u are when ur info hasn't changed in 12 years.

Here's what I see as a result

Status: Your pre-order for the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus is at our warehouse. Orders placed prior to 11:00 am CT on 9/12 will ship in up to 3 weeks from order date. Orders placed after that will ship in 4 to 6 weeks from order date. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience. For the latest shipping timelines, visit sprint.com/preorder.

That's a generic message everyone that ordered an iPhone 6+ gets with their order status.

Makes me think there are two batches. Anyone with the 3 weeks message should feel fortunate and most likely get their order by EOM Everyone after should prepared to wait a bit.

This is a Sprint pre-order thread. Go gloat in a different thread.

Seems iphone 6 orders have a specific message and all iphone 6+ orders are receiving a generic message. I've seen multiple people post specific time frames for the regular iphone 6 but no one on Sprint posting a specific date regarding the plus model.

It's a tad reassuring for some of us at least that there's a chance our generic message changes this week.

Track/Confirmation number:

So I managed to pre-order through sprint but I only got a confirmation number when I try to check it says that my # isn't on their system.
I'll also mention that I have been CHARGED for the phone already.

Where did you pre-order? Online or in the store?

The initial full charge that was placed on preorder day has been removed. Losing hope for a launch day arrival.

From my understanding the only way to get a phone close to launch was to go into the store on Friday morning. I was told this by multiple stores and customer service.

I paid for mine in the store my charge is still there.

Sometimes a company will hold funds to ensure you have the money and then the charge will drop off until they physically ship.

Im sure there's other Sprint customers that are cancelling their plus model which would also move our place up in line. Ive been reading a lot about people who placed an order for either the wrong model based on color or wrong hdd size. Or cancelling after reading up on how big the plus model is.

Im beginning to wonder if the website glitches are just a big marketing ploy by Apple. Analysts thought Apple was going to hold off selling the plus until early next year. Im wondering if Apple purposefully had the website down to dredge up popularity and demand for the devices. Kind of strange but it could happen.

Sprint may have tried the same thing or just had too much traffic. Anyways my .02 on the matter. Here's to hoping we get a notification soon that our orders move up for people cancelling and changing orders.

The hold would fall off probably Monday or Tuesday. I've worked in financial services for 14 years. Usually a hold will be initially authorized and remain for a few days (up to 5 days I believe). I believe there is a regulation regarding pending authorizations but cant recall at the moment.

The authorization remains valid and then the bank account is charged once the item is shipped. Occasionally the company will put another authorization through (depending on the company's policy and for preorders that are way out. Best buy will do this on preorders placed on their own credit cards. They will obtain a new auth once a month to ensure their is enough funds).

Also sometimes the charge will hit the account and the authorization hold will also be on the account for the amount too which may take the account negative and you would be charged a fee from your financial institution (so make sure you have enough money in the account).

Just a few tips to make sure you dont get hit with any fees when the device ships.

Guys check ur order status... I have a tracking via fed ex. It's in Memphis right now for future delivery!

6 or 6+? This makes all the difference.

Just checked mine (phone ordered shortly after site went live) and my status for the 6+ has not changed.

I actually paid. They were doing something different in the store than if you pre-ordered online.

iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Sprint Pre-Order Thread!

Am I happy to see this thread! I've been asking myself a lot of the same questions.

So I ordered the 2 iPhone 6+ 64GB on the iPhone for life plan as upgrades.

I ordered from Sprint.com

They charged placed a $1.00 hold on my cases twice for both phones. Still there now. It was 0 down no taxes for the iPhone for life plan.

I ordered around 530am Mountain time.

I have the same message :

This makes me think I am in the first batch of preorders for this model for sprint. Sounds to me regardless of what time I ordered before 11am ct.. We won't get the ip6+ by launch day.
