Not my cup of tea to fall in line but I love watching the festivities. I will never disrespect people doing it.

What to Expect: Atmospheric!

I am currently living in Tokyo. I took this last night. The line is currently much longer. (Check the maps picture I uploaded.) This is at the new store in Omotesando (Harajuku)

I have to say, I find it a bit pathetic that people have nothing better to do with their lives than wait overnight or in line for hours just for a phone. This isn't some miracle, it's just a phone. When the first iPhone came out, I could understand. It was an amazing new never seen before product. "we added a larger screen, a better camera" (people rush to get it line) Similar situation with the iPad.. Can't see any reasonable person waiting for a watch though.. Don't people have a social life or a job, or something to do?

I waited once for 2 hours for my MacBook Pro 4 years ago on tax free weekend. I was then told if I had purchased online, I still could have avoided sales tax. That's my regret. That was when I has 14 and only had a paper route. Now I have a real job.

Amen. Wtf with these people.

Wait...they're saying ATT will open at 8 tomorrow but my local store said 10. Hmm, let me go check real quick. Not trusting that rep..they're all over the damn place with their info.

The "launch" won't happen for me till 10/2-10/13 even though I placed my order 18 minutes after pre-order window opened. Thanks AT&T. What's funny is that I've always ordered through Apple before. I chose to go with AT&T this time because Apple's site was not up and the Apple Store app was not working for me. Oh well!

Interesting. I ordered my son's at 3.30am EST from ATT and its arriving tomorrow....I was able to order my wife's from the iPhone app at 3.20am EST. It's arriving tomorrow as well.

Why????

I am confused as to why anyone would have to have the latest iPhone, is it a fashion statement? No wonder why there are so many broke people in this country......This brings to mind a quote about broke people ...... people who buy things they don't need , with money they don't have, to impress people they don't know.

can't wait to get to the store and smell all those men and their BO. Im sure they have been sitting outside for days without a shower. Maybe apple can throw in a stick of deodorant for these people

Need help

Anyone knows if i can buy an unlock version in the apple store or this is only for carrier version?

I have an LG G3, and it fits in my pockets just fine. I guess you just have tiny pockets?

Though I do think the lining up thing is kind of silly, but indicative of our societies today. People need to be lining up like that to vote or speak out against things, instead they are lining up to buy a gadget.

I live near the Apple store that sells the most iPhones in the entire US. No way am I even going near that place.

So, Mom and Dad didn't come through, huh. Don't forget to brush your teeth, wash behind your ears, and say your prayers every night and maybe, just maybe, there'll be something in your Christmas stocking.

Ha. Tell that to so many (scalpers / business entrepreneurs / almost broke going for broke LOL) who "worked" hard in that line LOL so they can sell it for big money. From being almost broke to chi chingggg!!! Fashion statement? Impress people? Look who are going to laugh all the way to their banks. :D

On the other hand, for the love of gadgets ... :p

What time should I show up to the Apple store if I just want to get a iPhone 6 plus case?

I am assuming the line is only for the phones. So does that mean I can just walk in the store at 8am?

It would be safe to assume that any and all available staff will be processing the customers in the queue, in the order they arrived, regardless of the product they wish to purchase. If your store allows for EasyPay, I'm sure you can go in and buy it. No queue

I think people who have pre-ordered are getting nervous for no reason. I think 99% of the people who will be in line did not pre-order.

I know about 20 of my friends who want to get an iPhone tomorrow. Out of those, I'm the only one who has a pre-order.

Want to talk about math?

- 4,000,000 units pre-ordered either delivery or home.

- 9 countries (we'll guess the US made up for half, 2,000,000 units)

- Based on comments on here, it appears at least 75% of the people who pre-ordered are having them delivered, leaving about 500,000 to be picked up in stores.

- This means playing the averages, each store has about 1000 in-store pickups.

That's not even taking into account these numbers are probably really high, because it's likely that the big stores got way more, meaning the not so big stores got way less. So from a pre-order standpoint, you may be seeing 100-200 people show up in the morning, then 200-300 throughout the day, then the other 200-300 over the weekend. The whole point of pre-ordering is to not stand in that absurd line...
