Ordered two t-mobile phones through the Apple Store website. Couldn't get them on any subsidy that way, so I may see if I can't get ones from t-mobile with their plan and return the apple ones. In any case, that's over, going to bed.

Just placed my order on the Apple website! 16GB Space Gray iPhone 6 for Verizon. FINALLY!!!

Web Store is back up but...

...no more T-Mobile Pluses for 9/19. All 7-10 business days shipping. Estimated date Oct 1-6.

Yes. It is unlocked, shares all the same radios as the AT&T version of the phone. Someone else on here was spouting BS that it requires 40 days of service, but it's not true. Pop in your SIM and you're good.

40 days of service is standard if you buy from the T-Mobile store. However for iPhone I don't know if they follow the same protocol. For example, bought my Note 3 at full price, had to have the phone and be a customer for 40 days before they would unlock.

For people struggling in the US, use the app and if it gives you an error saying cannot connect to carrier etc, JUST KEEP TRYING. It took me about a half hour of constantly pressing continue over and over again and finally it took. Kept my unlimited data with ATT and gave me a 9/19 date with immediate email confirmation. Perseverance pays off in this case.

Exact same experience for me — took about 40 minutes of clicking. I kept clicking different colors and storage options. Sometimes they would be available and I could try adding it to my cart then a minute later it would be unavailable again. Eventually, I got the model I wanted.

I had a similar experience 2 years ago preordering the iPhone 5. There must be some way to make this process go more smoothly.

21-28 days??????????

Thank you for your purchase from the Premier Online Store and for choosing AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Your Apple iPhone 6 Plus (128GB Gold) has been reserved and will ship within 21 - 28 business days. Your iPhone has been reserved. All orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your order may be subject to AT&T eligibility and credit requirements. If we have any questions about your eligibility or your order, we will contact you via email.

Items in your cart may be held until all items in your order can be sent in one shipment. Preorder items will be shipped as soon as they are available.

2:15 minutes later using my iPhone 5, iPad, and computer and I finally got my 6+128GB order processed via my iPhone over the cellular network. Said shipping in 7-10 days, but offered the option of in store pickup. I took that and the order page on my account says available for pickup on 9/19.

At checkout, I was unable to add AppleCare+, so I will try at the point of pickup in store.

Five minutes later, I received an email confirming a reservation from earlier failed attempts by their servers to connect to AT&T. I had tried confirming that before the order actually went through and the site said there was no reservation.

Such a clusterfook. At least I have an actual order number and 9/19 pickup date. And now I see the website is actually up, too.

Ordered T-Mobile unlocked (which I'll use on AT&T) from the US Apple Web site. Site and email both say delivery on 9/19.

Explaining Apple's Launch Debacle

This post will probably get buried, and lost (maybe it need's it's own thread)

SO ... I think Apple tried something different this launch to avoid the single massive slam of internet traffic; and it's not working so well.

It appears that Apple may have selected IP's hitting the site and assigned them to holding blocks. As the current X # of acceptable internet traffic users finish ordering then IP's in holding blocks are allowed into the store.

THIS explains why some people in CA can't order but some people can, some people in NY etc.... other states ... same thing.

NOW the solution became a real time problem for Apple. Active users can't complete orders, communication issues with carrier sites, etc. I think Apple lost control of order. Some IP's are getting through... some IP's are still waiting for the Apple online store to open! 3 hours after launch!

(when I say IP I mean people on a web browser)

who ever came up with this brilliant Que system should quit before he/she gets fired.

I ordered 2 iPhone Plus 64GB about 20 minutes ago through the AT&T Store. I have not yet received my confirmation emails though. Any other AT&T users get an email yet?

You have a device to your name, don't need to queue on the 19th.

Apple store chat rep said that the T-mobile version is locked to T-mobile and will not work with AT&T. Weird, this is what they said on chat just a minute ago.

"However, what you can do, is ring TMobile, since there is no contract. Ask them what you need to do to use on another carrier."

"I understand, there are many rumors out there. I can assure you initially the iPhone for TMobile is a TMobile iPhone and is locked."

"However, give TMobile a ring about using on other carriers."
