That statement is far from the truth..you must of not had many smart phones...

So wait....

You know better then me if my iPhone 6 have had or not had better battery life to any smartphone I have used (without even knowing what smartphones I have used)??

Ignorance is a bliss :)

Hmmm seems you missed the part where I said you must of not had many smart phones

I din't miss it but then again you were naive enough to assume that having too many smartphones = having one with better battery then iPhone 6. You don't know which smartphones I have used and you were to quick to jump your guns. It's typical around here so don't feel too guilty.

For your information, only on the last 12 months I have used 3 smartphones from 2 different companies.

is anybody else's icloud restore taking forever, this long after launch? my home and work internet wifi both give me speeds of about 50 Mbps down, so i'm surprised the restore is still going on. i guess it hasn't been a full 24 hours yet though. i started the restore about 18 hours ago with maybe an hour of that time not connected to wifi. i regularly clear photos off of my ios devices, so the photos didn't take long to transfer.

it looks like my messages file is taking forever (it is at 5.8 GB right now and was 3.2 GB when i went to bed last night). all the apps were downloaded in a few hours and i downloaded less than a gb of music from itunes match yesterday too.

i predict people telling me that apple's servers are just getting hammered with the recent launch, but this is pretty crazy slow a few weeks after launch. usually server slowdowns occur on the day of a new product/service for most companies, but this should be going a lot faster by now.

on another note, i am LOVING the 6 plus. i've been using it 1-handed fine...i must have freak hands.

EDIT: just an update, my cloud restore finished after about 24 hours, so i guess there wasn't anything wrong.

I went back and put Apple Care on mine. You just walk in. I brought my receipt but I don't think you need it. Took about 2 minutes for him to put in the serial number and take my $99.

Got mine yesterday gray and uped it to 128gb got lucky as they had one in stock might go back for the apple care today can you do that the day after.

Yep, it's that simple. They need to see the phone to prove it's not already ruined and the serial should know if the user qualifies for AppleCare. With a 6, it won't be a problem regardless, as the phone hasn't even been out for a month.

I got my plus yesterday and have been goofing around. I also did some googling and found out information on it and iOS.

I keep seeing things about adjusting settings before each photo I take?

I can't find any settings for taking photos? I just see your standard video, pano, square etc.

Can I adjust pixels? Can I adjuts exposure etc etc. if so,,where are these settings?

Thank u

After a long wait I finally got my iPhone 6 today and I love it. After a short inspection (because this forum just made me paranoid) I'm just playing with it all the time now. Beautiful! :D

Jealous, mine is still processing order... Would you mind taking a screenshot of a group iMessage in landscape orientation? It looks awful on the iPhone 5, no space at all for content due to the participant names bar and the QuickType bar. Hoping the Plus will solve this issue!

And another one with the QuickType bar. You still don't see a lot, but since I prefer doing most stuff in portrait mode it's not so much of a bother for me.

Thanks, both! So it's a bit better but not by much. Oh well. Just reserved the 6 Plus at a store for pickup tonight and cancelled my online order, so I'll be seeing it for myself soon enough!

yep. it actually finished after about 24 hours, so i guess there wasn't anything wrong, just apple's servers being super slow.

only have dont a couple of restores from the cloud, but they have never taken that long.

Are you sure you internet is not moving slowly. That just seems way too long.

nope, i did a wifi speedtest on the iphone and was getting 70 Mbps down at work, where i was for nearly half of that 24 hours. at home it was in the high 50s.

weirdly enough, the apps downloaded quite fast. during the last 8 hours of the transfer, i was monitoring the used storage on the phone, and my messages file. it was the messages file taking forever to download from icloud, and it's way smaller than my collection of apps that had finished downloading in the first few hours of the restore. there was likely nothing else downloading for the majority of the 24 hours. even the photos had finished early on.

First reaction "Damn this is too big". Wanted to exchange it right away. Loved the battery life, i can't kill it in one day, lol. Today was better.. Started to love the gorgeous big screen and not having to zoom/scroll a lot.

The most important question is.. Where the hell do you keep it? It doesn't fit in my jeans (nothing skinny, marlboro classic jeans, normal fit). It fits in Jordan pants but i can't rock them everyday. Jacket pockets will be alright, but really, it's not really a phone anymore...

So to recap, this one is too big (with its advantages and disadvantages).. And the 6 is.. well, normal. And I don't want it normal, feels like nothing special.. haha. I think i'll keep the plus but it would've been better if they made just the 5" model.. my humble opinion. Which doesn't count. Enjoy your phones, folks!

That's strange. It fits fine in all my pant pockets, even the ones with shallower pockets. I wear slim jeans (not skinny).

I made a mistake. It fits alright, but i'm afraid i'll forget to take it out before i sit down. It will break if i sit down :) Just walking is OK. I have a bigger pair of jeans but i didn't try them with this beast.Anyway, I almost always take phones out, even with my 4s because i hate to have phone/wallet etc. in my pockets while I'm sitting. I love the plus, it's just not a "PHONE" anymore. I guess phones are becoming more computers and less phones everyday. Oh well, better adapt sooner than later...

That's pretty much the same experience here. Still wondering if I can adapt...

Applecare

I went back and put Apple Care on mine. You just walk in. I brought my receipt but I don't think you need it. Took about 2 minutes for him to put in the serial number and take my $99.

You can go back in and get AppleCare for quite some time with a fairly new device. I purchased a 32 gig iPad air data/Verizon model off oh eBay and add AppleCare put on it. The purchase date on that iPad air was something like six weeks I think prior to me putting it on so it may be as long as 90 days that AppleCare can be purchased I'm not positive but if you want to AppleCare call them and ask itis very possible that you'll get it.
