So our phones just showed up at our house and we opened the first and I commented that I was surprised they weren't using plastic to cover the front or back anymore...fast forward 5 minutes and I open mine and it does have the plastic.

What the hell is that about?!

Well, there's no way it was already opened or was a "return" the most likely explanation is that one came out of a different final assembly where they either weren't using the plastic or it got missed.

Get over it.

Here's a pic you can use to see if you have any dead pixels as I did last year. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1411153033.223209.jpg

My 6 just came in, and the size is disarming. But it's perfect. Much bigger than my 5, but not overly massive.

Best thing about it so far is the screen quality. The pixels are floating above, it looks crystal clear and very vibrant. Super solid feeling and well built, very premium and substantial in the hand. Loving it.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Photos and First Impressions

Love the 6+ size and feel and it blows my Note 3 and 5s away

Since you have a Note 3, is the 6 Plus a lot bigger than the Note 3? Also, is the Note 3 a good phone to get an idea on the size of the Plus?

Without a doubt, iPhone 6 Plus is the most beautiful big phone (okay, of all-time vs. even the most gorgeous small iPhones and Nokias) I've ever seen and have. Love, love, love it front, back and the sides!

Without a doubt, best phone I've ever owned. I bought the 6 and very happy with my decision. The phone itself is beautiful and I love the larger screen. I really don't see how Apple can top this one.

The 6 Plus screen is insane. Just need more app updates as the stretched ones look like they were designed for an elderly person.

I prefer the device in the leather apple case. It feels so nice. Was going to go naked but the case is perfect.

I guess Apple really means save your recovery key. My trusted device was my iphone 5 and in the process of activating my 6 it deactivated the 5 from the network leaving me without a phone on att to receive a two step code at and now I can't activate either phone. I am totally screwed right now.

I love it! I upgraded from an iPhone 5 and the screen on my new iPhone 6 is just brilliant! I'm huge on photography so I'm really impressed with the camera and quality of photos that I've taken so far! I'm also really digging the Touch ID - I guess I never really knew what I was missing out on but I like how convenient it is to do a bunch of secure things with just the Touch ID.

I bought a thin Spigen phone case from Amazon. It's got a clear backing and a TPU mint-colored bumper - I think it looks good with the gold :) so far battery life has been pretty good. Haven't had issues with it heating up either - you can't really feel it through the case. I actually like the 'louder' vibration cause I can actually feel/hear it more now. Not much else to say..really happy with it :) I'm curious to see what the 6+ is like though in my hands!

Hope everyone is enjoying theirs just as much!

What if I lose my Recovery Key?

If you lose your Recovery Key, you can replace it any time:
1.Go to My Apple ID.
2.Select Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your password and trusted device.
3.Select Password and Security.
4.Under Recovery Key, select Replace Lost Key.

When I signed in and attempted to go to Password and Security, it simply sent a text verification code to my phone number. Not a specific device. Then it let me reset my security key. Give that a try.

Upgraded to 6+ from a 5. A few first impressions after playing for an hour.

This thing is big, feels more like a small tablet than a phone. My old 5 seems like a toy in comparison.

Goodbye slide to unlock! TouchID is so damn nice and really fast. It's going to take me a while to lose the old swipe habit to unlock the phone though.

It feels incredibly thin. The tapered edges are much more comfortable in the hand than the square-edged 5.

Vibrate in silent mode is quite loud.

240fps slo-mo is really ****ing cool.

All my most used apps look like I'm running in some large type accessibility mode. Looking forward to the updates so I can make the most of the screen space.

1) The iPhone 6 is big enough of an increase from the iPhone 5. I cannot imagine those that purchase the iPhone 6+ and what they are experiencing.

2) Holding the iPhone 6 and then switching back to my iPhone5, HOLY SCHNITZ! What a HUGE HUGE difference in phone size!

3) The iPhone6 is rather beautiful and glorious :)

It's pretty jarring. I can't really use the phone as I normally would but I'm going to give it a few days to see if I adapt.

Much appreciated. And that already looks much nicer to me than the stock photos at the Apple Store website!
I can see what you mean about the slight lip to it. A good thing I think!

I think it feel nice to hold too. Hard to explain.
Good luck with yours!

Anyone used Apple Pay yet?

Can you load a credit card into your Passbook and use it to pay at an NFC point-of-sale terminal?

6 plus here...

It will definitely take some getting used to the size, but I think I will love it. I'm a girl and mostly carry my phone in my purse, I don't have an ipad and I don't talk on the phone all that much so I think it fits my needs perfectly. I feel a little funny playing around with it at work, its the farthest thing from inconspicuous. I think feeling a little self conscious about its size will wear off as I get used to it.

the display is AMAZING. I feel like i'm touching the content directly beneath my finger tips, and not through a slab of glass. Can't wait to play with it some more after work!

will it fit in mini bags? that is what i am worried about!

I'll get some pictures later, however my first impressions of my iPhone 6 Plus:

This phone is awesome. Its just the perfect size for my larger-then-normal hands. The screen is the best display I have ever seen, I kid you not. The blacks are rich, the colors pop and the clarity is through the roof.

TouchID seems faster and more reliable then my iPhone 5s, however it could also be a thing of iOS 8.

OIS is amazing. I shot a video where I purposely shook the phone and while some of the bigger shakes were still there, it really did smooth out the video. A lot.

One downside is a lot of the scaled up apps look horribly pixilated unfortunately. I hope devs start rolling out updates soon.

Really like the size of the 6. I can still hold it in one hand easily. The phone is very nice looking and the screen seems huge.

Sums up my thoughts just about. Great device through and through. It does get a little warm when downloading large apps, which semi surprises me.

Agreed, but I'm sure they'll fix that soon. Plus it's much better than the cropped apps going from 4 to 5.
