Sounds like a number of people are having this issue. Doesn't seem like it's just you. Just curious if you have a case on it or anything. Head on over to the ios8 subforum and see if anyone on there is having the same issue or any solutions. Might need to head into the Apple store and have a conversation.

I'm not worried about it now. It did it once and hasn't done it again since. I've been moving around my office all morning switching to different networks and access points and it hasn't skipped a beat. Although it still claims to be restoring from iCloud backup and we have 150meg cable here

Router and access point updated very recently.

Will power cycle at lunch time.

Meanwhile iPhone 5 is rock solid on same network and no longer has cellular access so I know it is working without issues.

Wifi at Apple store fine but did get funny WebKit error at google news on safari once that cleared with reload.

Didn't have time to wait for tech so heading back after work.

I am experiencing the same problem with my iPhone 6

The phone will be connected to my Apple Airport Wifi (2 or 5ghz) and will be fine for between 30 minutes to an hour and will then lose the connection.

When going into the wifi settings it will constantly scan but not see any wifi networks. I have been 'solving' this by Resetting Network Settings but that is hardly a fix I want to keep using.

If this continues, I will be heading to the Apple Store

I had very slow wifi issue (was getting less than 9mb from my wifi)
I found solution suggested to someone by Apple hotline on Apple forum:
RESET NETWORK SETTINGS
I went from 9/22mb (download/upload) to 31/74

I had WiFi issues and I restore the phone in iTunes. Now works great with no issues.

I had EXACTLY the same problem a few hours ago.
I only got the phone yesterday and I set it up as a brand new phone, no restore at all.

Is this likely to be hardware or software causing it do you think?

A friend of mine is having the same issues. If it continues everyone should definitely return and get a new one.

Go to your settings and forget all networks. Then use other and type the SSID in manually. When I got my 5 it did the same thing and this fixed it.

Same thing happening with the wife iphone 6. Going back to the att store today to see whats up.

Make sure you aren't using a metal case.

A number of different cases will negatively impact iPhone WFI reception performance.

Speck case from att store at time of purchase. 2 ipads, a laptop, and one other android device not losing networks. This iphone 6 about every 20 to 30 minutes loses wifi and sees no other networks when other devices show 4-6 within close range.

I'm having similar wifi issues with my iPhone 6. When connected to my home's Verizon wireless router, Internet speeds are extremely slow (YouTube is almost unusable). I have an iPhone 4s and 5s and both are working just fine when connected to my home's wireless router. I've done some trace-route tests and I'm seeing quite a bit of packet loss. It's looking like the iPhone 6 has some compatibility/signal issues with some wireless routers. This really blows, as now I need to spend more time troubleshooting...

Who is the manufacture of your router? I have the latest AirPort Extreme with 802.11ac and have yet to have a problem with my 6 Plus (knock on wood).

I'm having simular issues with my iPhone 6

I live in a flat and I can pick up 4 strong Wi-Fi signals but every hour, or two, it looses the signals (including mine) and just keeps searching, for Wi-Fi networks, for anywhere between a minute and half hour. But after it reconnects it's completely fine and has a strong signal.

My iphone 6 did this too, toggle from wifi to lte and back every minute or so. I reset my router and is working fine now with no drops.

Just picked up an iPhone 6 at local Apple store. Set it up at work with wifi. As I played with settings, noticed it had dropped wifi. Went into wifi settings and it had not only dropped wifi, it had forgotten the network. Entered password and it reconnected...then dropped after 5 seconds. And then forgot network again.

Called Apple. Tried rebooting, forgetting network settings. After that, the iPhone 6 couldn't connect saying I was entering wrong password 3 times in a row even though the iPhone 5 worked when I had it forget the network and used the same password. Finally connected on fourth attempt.

Very frustrating first 20 minutes of ownership. Luckily I have an Apple store nearby. On hold now to make sure they hold one for me to exchange.

I'm having the same issue. I had to enter my password about 50 times until it finally accepted it last night (and I know I was inputting it correctly, I was copy and pasting it from the notes app every time). Once I did connect, it stayed connected for a while, then dropped and forgot the network, and I'm back to square one.

It's probably iOS 8 rather than the phone. My iPhone 5 and iPad mini retina have been fine with my wifi for the past year. Upgraded to iOS 8 and over the last 24 hours they've both been spontaneously dropping and forgetting the wifi. Have to deselect the wifi network and reenter the password.

Already reset network settings. After that, damn phone wouldn't accept correct pw x 3. Finally got it on 4th try.

I think it's the OS. I set the iPhone up to tether to my iPad. I typed the pw correct twice and it said it was wrong. On the third try it worked.

Update

I ended up going to the Apple Store for a same-day Genius appt. Before they took the phone for diagnostics, one of the senior Genius guys stopped them and had them do a quick trade. He considered the unit DOA and was planning to ship it to Apple. I had read about the first week DOA units being sent to an area where they were thoroughly dissected and problems discovered - hopefully they find this was a software issue and the phone can offer them clues to fix in 8.0.1.

The new iPhone has been rock solid on the home network (Airport Express 802.11n 5ghz). Had one delayed connect after the first time I rebooted it but been fine ever since with handoffs back and forth to LTE.

I won't be back at the office with the problem router until Thursday but other people will have updated their 5c/5s machines to iOS8 over the weekend so I may hear their issues soon...

I was experiencing weird network issues (can't download apps or very slow, youtube video not starting, etc).

I'm using a Netgear R6250 and my other devices work ok with it. I check the config and it's all good.

I turned it off and plugged an Airport router that was in a drawer and everything is fine now. Maybe there are issues with some routers and Apple will fix it in a iOS upgrade.

Yep this fixed it for me. I restored mine so maybe it has to do with the saved passwords from iOS 7
