Had this happen to me earlier today. Did a Reset Network Settings and haven't had any issues with it.

So I too was having this same issue (and a dead pixel) in the middle of my 128 iPhone 6 Plus. Long story short, I went to Apple and received another but the wifi was acting the same way, even after resetting the network settings and still restoring from a backup from my iPhone 5.

To remedy the issue of Wifi-Gate or whatever it may be dubbed, switch your wireless network from WEP to WPA2. All balance should be restored.

Wifi at Apple store fine but did get funny WebKit error at google news on safari once that cleared with reload.

Didn't have time to wait for tech so heading back after work.

Was the error the same as the one I attached? I've seen that periodically since updating my 5s to iOS 8.

Also did you restore your 6 from backup or set it up as new? When I restored and set my 5s up as new (as instructed by senior care executive), most of the problems went away, but that's likely because there were no apps installed and no data whatsoever on the phone.

There's definitley a bug with ios8 and wifi. I have had the following happen on my 5S, iPad Air and now iPhone 6.

Wifi drops off, no networks show under wifi settings. Toggling wifi off then on again, no networks. Device reboot or toggle flight mode on then off and networks return.

Only happens when connected to a 5Ghz network. Solution at the mo is just to connect to the 2.4Ghz one instead.

This is the issue I was coming to post about. It looses WiFi overnight and won't show any networks or connect. Restarting fixes it.

I have a Netgear that has been flawless. I have both 2 and 5 ghz bands. I just set it to forget the 5 ghz band to see if that helps.

The new iPhone 6 is the only device I have on ios 8 and the only one with problems like this. It was set up as a brand new phone.

Exactly what I got when on 5ghz. I did the same and told it to forget the 5Ghz one and all of the devices have been fine since.

There's several threads in the iOS 8 forum as well with wifi problems as well.

It must be an iOS 8 problem, my other phones can hold a reliable signal with my router.

I live in a flat and I can pick up 4 strong Wi-Fi signals but every hour, or two, it looses the signals (including mine) and just keeps searching, for Wi-Fi networks, for anywhere between a minute and half hour. But after it reconnects it's completely fine and has a strong signal.
I just got off the phone to the Apple Store and they are going to do a straight swap tomorrow so hopefully that'll fix the problem.

Reinstall the OS.

BTW that is usually a router issues.

I know what’s happening, the new iPhone’s cycle through mac addresses for security. So it could be that this is playing up with your router.

I had this exact issue. I tried everything but Restore iPhone. This did the trick for my home wifi. I am sure the work WiFi will be fine tomorrow.

I was able to test my cable company's wifi <which is an utter joke> too, but my 6 instantly recognizes my network now whether the phone is asleep or powered on/off.

My router is an Apple Airport Extreme somewhere between 3-4 years old.

I had this issue too, i got it working and hasn't happen since. Though since ios 8 update my ipad has sporadic wifi drop issues too where turning wifi off/on fixes it. (It first started on iOS 8 beta)

I use a Airport Extreme 802.11AC. Connected at 5ghz.

Another tidbit since ios 8 when I used hotspot wifi from i5s and i6+ my MBP would connect but then internet would stop working, wifi still connected. Turning hotspot off/on fixes it.

Personally I think iOS 8 has some wifi issues.

Same issue here. iPhone 6 setup as new phone, Drops off wifi. Can't find any wifi connections until restart or reset network settings.
Happened last night AND this morning.
Both times seem to happen after visiting the App Store.

Happened again upon wake unrelated to App Store. Shut down.
Reset AirPort Extreme (4th Gen) phone connected automatically..

No. Mine said something about WebKit specifically but don't have the screen shot anymore.

And the 6 was setup as new. Was having issues almost right off the bat - I think only 5-10 apps.

There are wifi issues with the 6/6 plus that are now appearing on discussion forums. Various things seem to solve the problem for people, but also appear temporary. Resetting network settings, not starting from an iCloud backup, changing Wifi security from WEP to WPA2, exchanging your iPhone, and switching to a different brand Wifi router have all been reported to fix the problem. It's very likely a software issue but if you have the time and inclination, get the phone replaced, but make sure that you test the new one in the store. Speedtest and Speed Smart are two good apps on the App Store for verifying the problem.

I'll add that on the new i6, I have been on the home network which is 5GHz on an Airport Express.

Speedtest showed 50 up/50 down (Verizon FIOS).

Added the 2.4GHz channel password just now and speed dropped and was a bit flakier. Not sure what that is about.

No idea what the office router uses but would guess 2.4

I was experiencing weird network issues (can't download apps or very slow, youtube video not starting, etc).

I'm using a Netgear R6250 and my other devices work ok with it. I check the config and it's all good.

I turned it off and plugged an Airport router that was in a drawer and everything is fine now. Maybe there are issues with some routers and Apple will fix it in a iOS upgrade.

I noticed something weird.
When I did the test, I plugged AirPort somewhere else as the Netgear. Since the AirPort was working good, I decided to move it to where the Netgear is (so it's more clean) and boom, abysmal performances...
I then moved the Netgear at the temp AirPort location and it's all good now.
Macbook has a solid and fast wifi with both routers at both locations.

So for me, it has something to do with the location of the router, not the router itself for my iPhone6 ... No clue.

Does Anybody's iPhone 6 Wi-Fi Automatically Turn Off But Wifi Is On But Its Not Connected. No Network Would Show Up But Wi-Fi is Turned On ? I Gotta Do A Reboot For It To Connect

mines being really glitchy and besides doing this, sometimes it refuses to sync songs in my iTunes library that are not from iTunes store, so it takes me like 20 tries manually dragging the files in before it finally does it. downloading 8.0 now to restore.

seems like 8.0 on the 6 is a screwed up mess. hopefully 8.0.1 will be out in the next week or so to fix some of these issues.

My 6 is doing the same thing. Very slow wifi at times. Trouble finding and connecting to AP's. I have the 4th Gen Apple TC as my primary but it's happening at all sorts of places. Same results on 2.4/5ghz networks. I can do a speedtest and get .75/.31 on my 55/5 connection then do it later and get 40/5. I suspect it's to do with iOS 8. I'll give Apple a chance to update iOS 8 with an update before I take it in.

I am having the same problem. Day old 6 plus, drops off wifi and only reconnects after resetting network settings. Really frustrating, I just hope it is an iOS rather that hardware fault.....

This just happened to me a couple hours ago. It was so weird. I did a hard restart and it fixed itself.

Interesting thing is that I did the network settings reset (as well as reset all settings) last night and now this problem happens. I also restored from back-up since I cannot let go of my text messages and pics in the camera roll.

It seems I have the same problem. Wifi broke at some time between me going to bed last night and waking up. There were no networks in range, no matter how close I got to my router, and there are usually five or more available. Was fixed when I restarted the phone. The phone was set up as new and I am using WPA2 for my encryption.

It sounds more like a software problem (or at least something that can be fixed with a software update (hopefully!)).
