The first 15" retina mbp had crazy lag and experts were saying it's definitely a hardware issue. Mavericks was released and the lag was totally fixed. I'm wondering if this'll be similar.

Have the 3D benchmark applications been updated yet to properly test the new resolutions?

if you guys want a PERFECT phone, why don't you make one for yourselves or go work for Apple/Foxcomm.
Ive messed with a few and no lag on any of them, and IF there was... it wasn't noticeable to hurt my feelings.
I have a 6+ and I see some stutter infrequently. It's slight, but it shouldn't be there at all on a new phone.
I refuse to user zoom mode.I think we're being overly picky. I've really been pushing this thing to its limits looking for lag and stutter and I'm hard pressed to find anything. If I'm using the phone in "zoom", I have ZERO lag. Absolutely zero. If I'm using it in standard, I have to "trick" my phone into stuttering by doing very very specific tasks.
In my eyes, the only problem with the phone is that it's too heavy when using it with one hand. Aside from that, it's flawless.

Anyway, with the new ipad having 2 gigs ram, and the performance stutters, I worry the 6 plus is not add future proof. Don't get me wrong, I like my six plus.
In contrast, my note 4 had zero lag and stutter... And that is with a Samsung touch wize phone.
I don't believe the air 2 stutters. Just the six plus.Nothing is future proof, planned obsolescence is a part of business and technology.
As for the AIR 2 "stuttering" with two gigs of ram, it leads me to believe this IS a software, not a hardware issue.
I too, love my PLUS. Still getting used to the size. Massively different than my 4S.

Everything does become outdated.... But a 800-1000 phone should perform well for at least two years or more. I am not convinced it will, like other apple devices typically do.
I worry it will be like the iPad 3.
Odd.The Air 2 stutters as well, unfortunately.
Do you know what 'standard' means?
Odd.
I don't really notice a stutter in my air 1,ajd my wife's six is smooth as can be.
Um.... I own a six plus and note 4. Note 4 performs as well, and better at times. When it get android 5.0...It will do even better. You're missing my point. For me to get it to stutter, and I mean barely stutter, I have to be doing something incredibly specific with the device. This is a software issue, not hardware. It's Apple having an identity crisis with their new Phablet. It will get sorted out so people (such as yourself) being so incredibly nit picky over the tiniest detail will have to start complaining about something else. This phone is flawless.
As for anyone saying it's an $800 device, it should be perfect in every way. I challenge YOU to make a device for the twice the money and have it perform like this. I remember purchasing an old Intel Pentium 1 desktop with an SVGA monitor for twice the money of this device that fits in my pocket. I promise you, it couldn't do 1/16th of what this phone can do. Be happy you can afford this and enjoy it, most of the world wishes they could touch one let alone own one.
I'm very very picky when it comes to tech, the only thing I don't like about this phone is how unbalanced it is. I keep feeling like it's going to tip forward out of my hands any minute. Aside from that, tiny tiny stutters in the GUI are insignificant. imho

Nexus 6...will perform better.
Nexus 5 performs as well as the new iphones.
He'll. The iphone 6 cost less and performs better.
So yes... You can make a device that performs as well or better for the price point.
Both are great devices. Each phone has their pros and cons. I use Apple devices (currently) because their pros outweigh their cons. The tiny tiny stutter I can duplicate if I try is something I can more than live with.
Odd.

Just dont agree with people that claim apple can charge more based on performance. You are correct, it is a great device.

Just try rotating the screen in spotlight and you'll see awful frame rate. (reduce transparency must be OFF)...
