The first 15" retina mbp had crazy lag and experts were saying it's definitely a hardware issue. Mavericks was released and the lag was totally fixed. I'm wondering if this'll be similar.

Have the 3D benchmark applications been updated yet to properly test the new resolutions?

Yup. GFXBench actually puts the 6+ ahead of the 6, albeit only slightly. The good news is, for gaming, the Metal and OpenGL libraries give APIs for rendering at screen resolution as opposed to the native resolution.

It's not totally fixed, but it's minimal now. I would say the same amount as the 6+ right now. Hence to me it's part hardware part software. It's definitely not 6s+, but software might help it. It's a gamble.

if you guys want a PERFECT phone, why don't you make one for yourselves or go work for Apple/Foxcomm.

Ive messed with a few and no lag on any of them, and IF there was... it wasn't noticeable to hurt my feelings.

I've considered this, unfortunately I don't have experience in programming, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, graphic design and a slew of other CRITICAL skills required to design my own personal phone.

THANKFULLY! APPLE does a wonderful job :)

Two weeks in and all still smooth. Battery life seems to be getting even better. Typing on the plus stock keyboard is very fast and accurate. Was not on my S4. Very pleased with Siri also. #

I have a 6+ and I see some stutter infrequently. It's slight, but it shouldn't be there at all on a new phone.

I think we're being overly picky. I've really been pushing this thing to its limits looking for lag and stutter and I'm hard pressed to find anything. If I'm using the phone in "zoom", I have ZERO lag. Absolutely zero. If I'm using it in standard, I have to "trick" my phone into stuttering by doing very very specific tasks.

In my eyes, the only problem with the phone is that it's too heavy when using it with one hand. Aside from that, it's flawless.

I refuse to user zoom mode.

Anyway, with the new ipad having 2 gigs ram, and the performance stutters, I worry the 6 plus is not add future proof. Don't get me wrong, I like my six plus.

In contrast, my note 4 had zero lag and stutter... And that is with a Samsung touch wize phone.

Nothing is future proof, planned obsolescence is a part of business and technology.

As for the AIR 2 "stuttering" with two gigs of ram, it leads me to believe this IS a software, not a hardware issue.

I too, love my PLUS. Still getting used to the size. Massively different than my 4S.

I don't believe the air 2 stutters. Just the six plus.

Everything does become outdated.... But a 800-1000 phone should perform well for at least two years or more. I am not convinced it will, like other apple devices typically do.

I worry it will be like the iPad 3.

Do you know what 'standard' means?

The Air 2 stutters as well, unfortunately.

You're missing my point. For me to get it to stutter, and I mean barely stutter, I have to be doing something incredibly specific with the device. This is a software issue, not hardware. It's Apple having an identity crisis with their new Phablet. It will get sorted out so people (such as yourself) being so incredibly nit picky over the tiniest detail will have to start complaining about something else. This phone is flawless.

As for anyone saying it's an $800 device, it should be perfect in every way. I challenge YOU to make a device for the twice the money and have it perform like this. I remember purchasing an old Intel Pentium 1 desktop with an SVGA monitor for twice the money of this device that fits in my pocket. I promise you, it couldn't do 1/16th of what this phone can do. Be happy you can afford this and enjoy it, most of the world wishes they could touch one let alone own one.

I'm very very picky when it comes to tech, the only thing I don't like about this phone is how unbalanced it is. I keep feeling like it's going to tip forward out of my hands any minute. Aside from that, tiny tiny stutters in the GUI are insignificant. imho

Odd.

I don't really notice a stutter in my air 1,ajd my wife's six is smooth as can be.

People (mostly in the forum) can and do point out stutters in the Air 1. I can repeat on my Air 1 what they point out. Thing is, they're LOOKING for the flaws. The device performs beautifully, if you're looking for something to be wrong you'll find it. It's like looking at a super model and trying to find the one mole you don't like, or how her hair isn't how you like it. People will find flaws in anything if they look hard enough. This device is beautiful.

Um.... I own a six plus and note 4. Note 4 performs as well, and better at times. When it get android 5.0...It will do even better.

Nexus 6...will perform better.

Nexus 5 performs as well as the new iphones.

He'll. The iphone 6 cost less and performs better.

So yes... You can make a device that performs as well or better for the price point.

Each phone has their pros and cons. I use Apple devices (currently) because their pros outweigh their cons. The tiny tiny stutter I can duplicate if I try is something I can more than live with.

Both are great devices.

Just dont agree with people that claim apple can charge more based on performance. You are correct, it is a great device.

Could not agree more. Apple charges what the market allows. Anyone who claims they charge for reason "x" or reason "y" is missing how the market operates. They charge what they charge because they believe it's fair, as does the consumer. Which is why their market share is through the roof.

Just try rotating the screen in spotlight and you'll see awful frame rate. (reduce transparency must be OFF)...

Exactly. One example which, in my opinion is really reaching to find the flaws in an otherwise "perfect" device.

Stop looking for the flaws and start enjoying the device.

If you had "insert super model here" in your bed, would you shag her over and over again, or after the first time would you say "She was ok, but "x" and "y" could have been better"?

Enjoy the device!!!

Mine lags. When tapping on a link within Facebook, the screen will freeze and not respond. Had to try it multiple times before I got the link to load.
