Most apps work, though I have one or two that show a noticeable lag. Tbh, I forget what apps they are, as its not really major issue for me.

Try turning ON "Reduce Transparency" in Accessibility and also choose "Zoomed" instead of "Standard" in Display setting. You'll notice buttery smooth animations and transitions.

Actually Reduce transparency works, but doesn't completely solve it. This feels like it's just not enough power to handle the UI, just like my rMBP and iPad 3. I don't like having another underpowered device if it's really a hardware problem. And compensatiing by disabling on a brand new phone is ridiculous.

I just tested AccuWeather on my 6+. Tons of stutter when scrolling. Can someone test an iPhone 6? Alien Blue also seems to have a bit of stutter on the 6+, but nothing on my iPad Air.

Do you know if this app has been optimized for the plus? Are you on zoom or standard?

It seems AccuWeather hasn't been optimized for iPhone 6 or 6+, but Alien Blue has been updated, and there's still some stutter present. Also, I'm in standard mode. Zoom didn't seem to change anything in-app, to be honest.

I have "reduce motion" turned on under "Accessibility" because I don't really like the zooming animations. Switching it on makes the phone feel faster because transitions are slightly faster, but it seems like it also reduces lag overall. I've been using it this way from the beginning and never really had any noticeable lag. Also, I tried using AccuWeather with "reduce motion" off and on, and I swear it's laggier with it off. Might be worth a try.

I'm also noticing a little stutter in Evernote when I scroll through my (very long) list of notes.

I know it's not your video but I thought you were saying that you had the same issue. Are you a prospective Plus owner?

Do the people who have lag experience this issue?

I do experience the same as the video. It happens when there's a lot of content to load, like safari tabs. A lot of times when I'm using apple maps and google maps, pulling up control center would haves definite stutter. These all happen the first time you do something, then once it's in memory it's smooth. Except for Spotlight rotation.

Tbh, it feels like my 2012 rMBP. It's not bad enough to outweigh the screen size advantage. But I don't know if I can live with it for 2 years, especially knowing 6S+ will most likely be butter smooth like 5s and 6. I'm still debating to keep or not.

Unfortunately, it's too late for me to return my 6+. I, too, am not sure if I can live with the stutter for two years. The only hope I have is that there is some poor coding/optimization in iOS 8. I remember control center and notification center both speeding up significantly with iOS 7.1.4 on iPhone 5s.

Having said all of that, the iPhone 6 also has some stutter. Scrolling through wallpapers, scrolling in the videos.app, etc. It just seems to be slightly more prominent in the 6+. I honestly love the screen size, though. The iPhone 6 feels small to me now.

Edit: I think all of this should be reported to Apple. I don't know if it will change anything, but it's worth a shot. bugreport.apple.com

So, are you saying if you were still within your 14 day window you would return for the 6?

Sorry, I should've been more clear. No, I wouldn't return for the 6. The screen size/clarity and battery life on the 6+ trump the iPhone 6 (IMO). I should've said that I no longer have that option, no matter how I feel.

What did you upgrade from before? 5s? Would you keep that for another year if you could? I leaning towards it since holding the 5s feels so nice, and I can look at the screen as if it's a portable 6+/iPad/ios, if that makes any sense at all.

That's good to know. So you're saying you can deal with the stutter, you don't see it as a deal breaker. That's good to know.

Yeah, honestly, I think I can live with it. Yes, it annoys me here or there, but as of now, it's not a deal breaker. Absolute worst case scenario, I can sell the 6+ when the 6s+ comes around. iPhones tend to hold their value.

Yeah, I upgraded from a 5s. I also had a Nexus 5 (gift from a family member), so I adjusted to the size of the 6+ within a day. My girlfriend is using my 5s now, and she loves it. It's perfect for what she's doing. Honestly? I probably could've stuck with the 5s for another year, but I spend so much time working from my phone that I needed better battery life, and a larger screen.

My biggest concern is that apps I use daily will start to perform poorly. Stutter here or there is ok, but not ideal if it were to present itself everywhere. This is EXACTLY what drove me away from Android. Yes, more functionality, but the apps were garbage. The Nexus 5 was fast in terms of whizzing around the OS and opening apps, but resource-intensive apps (take Evernote, for example) were horrendous. Don't even get me started on pdf rendering .

So you're saying they currently don't, aye?

How does Evernote work currently?

From what I've seen, everything is working well. I'm just nervous that as developers start to add more functionality, GUI elements, etc., I'll start to see more stutter. Unfortunately, that's a waiting game.

As of now, there is a little stutter when scrolling though my (admittedly long) list of notes. Unfortunately, I don't remember if it was present on my 5s or not. All of my notes have pdf attachments, though. Other than that, everything is smooth. I can view large pdf's without any issues whatsoever.

Edit: In my first post, I meant that Evernote was horrible on Android, not iOS.

iPhone 6 Plus

Crashing from time to time, recent cleaned.

On every Update freshly start the iphone.

Last crash was minutes ago while making a call it threw me back to the apple logo for no reason.

Thanks Apple
