I used more than a few chrome tabs, 5 or 7 tabs. I did not even noticed the reload/refresh issue until someone here mentioned it. like i said, 1GB of RAM does not affect my experience to a noticeable level. and I don't use my phone like my PC (with 16GB RAM) which can have 10-30 tabs at one time.

using 10 to 20 tabs on iphone small screen to me is "unbearable" regardless of how much RAM the phone has.
2-3 tabs and 1-2 apps opened and RAM on 6 Plus is all taken up. I don't consider that "Pro user PC 30 tabs opened" or anything close to that level of usage.

I love my iPhone 6+ and it was great when I first got it new 2 years ago. I came from an iPhone 5s, and going to the bigger screen was like night and day. It felt like a real "upgrade" if you know what I mean.

When the iPhone 6s/6s+ came out last year, I was tempted to upgrade, but I chose not to, because I didn't feel that there were enough improvements over my 6+ to warrant the cost.

I've been following iPhone 7/7+ news for months now, and I am having the same urges to upgrade again, but the other half of me isn't impressed with the so called "improvements" that have been talked about so far. My iPhone 6+ is certainly fast enough for what I do (photos, web browsing, email, social media, text messaging, voice calls, very light gaming).

I am tempted to skip this model and wait another year for the 2018 iPhone model (whatever they decide to call it). I just feel like the iPhone 7/7+ may not feel like a real upgrade. Time will tell though, as we all have to wait for the actual announcement to find out all the official features of the device.

Long story short, I'm still on the fence whether to upgrade or not from my 6+
I got the 6 Plus coming from the 5s. Like you I fell in love with the larger screen. When the 6s Plus came out last year I was on the fence. But wow, when I got the 6s Plus the speed improvement was quite noticeable. Besides the faster processor the extra GB of ram made the phone phenominal.

The 7 Plus will have another 20% processor speed increase and I strongly recommend you get the 7 Plus. It will be a big jump for you from the 6 Plus you now have.

according to you, 1-2 apps and 2-3 tabs cause the RAM to be filled up. so why it did not affect my experience? I did not feel that it slows down. in fact, majority of users don't even know if RAM is filled up.

Because filling the RAM won't cause your device to slow down (as in low frame rate or low responsiveness). It will cause app reloading (which wouldn't be such an issue per se, but there's a big possibility of losing your data, because iOS doesn't use pagefile like Windows or MacOS).

Sadly yes. I will be awake at 1 AM to call in my order from T-Mobile. Third year in a row...seriously third year. Let's see how it goes

I’m actually thinking of getting a + for the first time. What are the complaints about it? I think it would be rather obnoxious making phone calls but then I realized nobody talks on the phone anymore anyway. I’m not really a single hand user as it is so I’m not really turned off by the prospect of having to use two hands most of the time.
Personally I always make phone calls using the earbuds on my iPhone 6 Plus.

Can't say that an ready for another phone after nearly two years with my iPhone 6 Plus, which cost $800 unlocked/outright from T-Mobile. I rather replace/upgrade the battery when it's time and spend $700 on an island vacation. Ha

- 32gb, 128gb, 256gb
Used a 64GB iphone 6, nothing new
- no 3.5" jack
Rarely listen to music with earphones since car have bluetooth
- possible water-proofing
Spend the last years without a water proof phone and it worked fine
- flush home button w/haptic feedback
who cares?
- dual speakers
Never used my speaker... I dont game.
- no antenna lines
who cares?
- A10 CPU
Expected change since it's always a better CPU
- return of space black
Always used silver color iphones.

I'm pretty sick of the size of my 6+ (or maybe just using that to justify a 7). I'm very much in the thinking about it camp.

Would rather feel completely happy about spending that much money though.
As in too big?!

One thing to consider is that there will probably be disastrous quality control issues with the 2017 iPhone if it's going to be so amazeballs. There's always some -gate with a new design, so maybe it isn't so bad to get the 7, let other people have meltdowns here on the forum when the 2017 phone is launched, and pick up a refined 2018 iPhone.

Then just wait until 2018 nonetheless but save money as well by not buying the 7.

The "gates", except maybe the original antennagate, are always blown way out of proportion. They sell tens of millions of phones, and most people outside of forums like this one don't know or care about the "disastrous" quality control issues.

I don't disagree, but playing the QA/QC lottery with Apple is never fun but always exhausting.

Every product that has ever been mass produced has QC hiccups. Your odds are probably no worse with Apple than with other companies. Apple just faces more scrutiny because of their reputation and popularity.

Manufacturing is manufacturing. Not even Apple can circumvent probability and laws of physics. Variability. Is present in everything, live with it, cuz all the whining in the world won't change it.

Well I don't like to brag

But yeah, every time I sit down I have to take it out of my jeans pocket, every meal it's on the table... I can barely even walk normally with it in my pocket. I'm hardly a tiny human either. It's just unwieldy, as much as I love the bigger screen when actually using it.

I'd never watch a film or TV show on any phone. And though I managed it, reading a book on the + was a real struggle and not something I would choose to repeat. I will miss the bigger screen for Reddit or whatever though.

Should use iPad more anyway :p

Lol. I completely agree. Before buying the 6 I tried it out at the store and the size put me off completely. Bigger is not always the better eh?!

i`m having 6+/128Gb, and dont see any reasons to upgrade to 7 (or whatever that might be called). camera might be better, but same design, same everything...

nah, i`ll stick to my two year old phone, and will swap it to really new and cool iphone (OLED, etc)

What's "cool" in your opinion?!

It seemed to become a much larger problem with my 6 Plus after the iOS 9 upgrade.

I can imagine most people do not notice it, or if they do, do not know it is happening because of a lack of memory.

I notice it all the time... It happens to me every day multiple times a day when I am listening to Audible, instead of just plugging my phone into my car and having to book start right where I left off, I have to unlock the phone, open the app, select the book, and press play. It is minor, but still a massive inconvenience. I CANNOT wait for more ram on the new phone

I'm trying to slowly extricate myself from the Apple ecosystem for the following reasons:
  • It's expensive (the Ol' Apple Tax)
  • I want more choice in hardware spec's
  • Apple can be capricious in product development ("Hey! Let's ditch the headphone jack / pci slots / DIY upgrades!") - My work demands something a bit more predictable and flexible.
YMMV, of course, but this is my viewpoint.

I'm thinking when it comes time for a new phone, I'll give serious consideration to Samsung.

I'd say no based on the rumours, but I've had so many problems with my 6 Plus (on my seventh replacement device, all for major issues - even this current one has a slipping camera and crunchy home button, but I really can't be bothered to exchange it) I'd quite like to ditch it for something else. Seeing as this is shaping up to be a '6SS' (even if they call it a 7), I hope the hardware would be rock solid.

Having said that, my phone still works and, unlike going from a 4 to a 5 or 5 to a 6, I don't feel like the performance is that bad that I really should upgrade it. With my computer on its last legs, I may just save for a new MBP and wait to upgrade my phone.
