i will buy 4.7-inch iPhone 6, but not 5.5/5.7-inch, it's to big.

I just got a Galaxy S5 as a work development device, the screen is beautiful, but it is just to large to use comfortably with one hand. And that is just 5.1".

I'm used to quickly grabbing my 5s out of my pocket, thumb typing a quick reply and maybe checking out instagram or something, all with a single hand. Doing the same with the S5 means I am constantly moving my grip around the phone making it much more likely to drop and my thumb tired from reaching around everywhere across the screen.

The S5's issues are exaggerated a bit because the back button is in the bottom right corner of the phone, meaning I have to have a super low grip just to reach it when using it in my right hand. Other android phones with on-screen keys are probably a bit easier to navigate because of the smaller reach required.

I am liking the bigger screen size, now all we need is some new software to utilize the space!

Are there no reception issues by just using little plastic strips as the antenna? Will be interesting to see if there's signal attenuation, particularly when your hand covers much of the phone.

It looks like a large iPhone 5C crossed with some Samsung crap. :/

Also I realised recently the amount of times I use my phone with one hand, and I struggle with the 5S to be honest, looks like unless I stay with an old device I won't have the ability to do that anymore all because people "can't see what they're doing on a 4 inch display"

It's hard to get overly excited these days about it. It's essentially going to be a well built, metal cased 5-6" phone which will ultimately look like most of the other phones on the market.

The evolution of the software seems to be most important and in Apples case, most lacking element at the moment. Having a slightly bigger grid for your apps won't change much.

My 2p.

Agree with you whole heartedly. When I watch the keynote from the iPhone 5 unveiling and Phil Schiller actually uttered the words "And we didn't stop there, our engineers have managed to squeeze in another row of app icons on your home screen, it's incredible' my heart sunk I thought to myself 'Wow they really have hit a wall with their creativity and ideology on UI design for the home screen and user experience; they really think the more icons cluttering your screen the better and don't see a need for quick bits of useful information'.

It was a disheartening moment and that was the moment I stopped hoping for something better; something like even the dashboard they offer for OS X. I realized that in their mind there was nothing more to add to the home screen to make it more useful. Having 100+ apps in folders has all the info you need right there at your fingertips; no one truly needs glance and go abilities.
It actually reminded me of when they argued that 'no one actually needs cut and paste... on a phone of all things'.

It's not all about looks. It's about sacrificing battery life or a camera without optical stabilization just to say that you have the thinness phone on the market. I would gladly have a phone double the thickness if the battery life is double and the camera takes shake free video during my motorcycle ride. Plus I don't what a thin phone that could bend like a thin sheet of aluminum if I accidentally left it in my back pocket.
What good is a thin phone if your tethered to a charger or run out of juice?

Why don't you just buy one of those battery pack things then that act as cover if you're not bothered about how thin the phone is once its released? There are plenty of options for people to strap ugly covers and battery packs to their phone but you can't make a thick phone thin for those of us who prefer it can you.

The only thing I care about in any of this, is the price increase...hopefully this is not true or does not happen

My best guess why they're going for thinner = less battery less energy less earths resources.

I agree the feel on the 4S and 5s is not the nicest experience. I guess thats why they came out with the leather case for 5s.

Nope, they came out with the leather case for the 5S so they can make a $30 profit per case off their customers :p

People are getting really good at making mock iphones....but whats the pount, they dont function...why would u do this as a hobby, go build ships in a bottle or something.

No one would be on MacRumors talking about his ship in a bottle. . .

So its going to be :

Thiner
Faster
Larger
More Expensive.

as long as they damn well increase the battery life to cope with the bigger screen area, and dont just say "8hrs is all most people NEED" like they seem to have with the last 6 phones [3G,3GS,4,4S,5,5S) (only the 1st gen had a decent battery life, my 1st gen still gets 2-3 days on a single charge and is still in use by my mother)

I'm sure mom is a power user

Rumors, rumors, shut up already

At this point who the f cares? I know I'm at a site that deals with Mac Rumors - hence the name but enough already. Give us real news, I hate all this speculation. Especially when at this rate, the damn thing won't even come out until the fall and even then it'll be another several months before we can easily walk in a store and get the damn thing.

looks like that ugly 5c..I won't buy it if the actual product looks anything like that cheapo 5c.
I'll stick to my 4s or maybe even switch to an android from sony or htc if they make it boring and ugly (as it seems in this video).

It's a mock-up to show the dimensions, not the materials.

This looks way better than those other mockups. However, I'm not pleased with the idea of paying additional $100. Sites should stop spreading that rumor or else customers will get used to it over time and Apple will make it come true.
