At this point who the f cares? I know I'm at a site that deals with Mac Rumors - hence the name but enough already. Give us real news, I hate all this speculation. Especially when at this rate, the damn thing won't even come out until the fall and even then it'll be another several months before we can easily walk in a store and get the damn thing.

You make a really good point. MacRumors should only report facts. And once they do that, they should change their name to MacFacts. Then you won't be so annoyed.

Ah the never ending ''who cares about how thin it is, I want a bigger battery'' comments.

We get it!! If you don't have something else to say, don't push that post reply button.

I know it important for you guys, but it's getting very very boring. The comments on every article are the same and it seems like people are just rushing to say it on the the first page so they get their precious thumbs up.

So how come all these mockups have a single LED instead of the the dual that the last version of iPhone had?

I wish they had better control on the leaks. I miss the old days of being surprised on announce day.

Damn right man! I miss being surprised too. I miss those just one more thing moments, and it's been far too long since we've had that.

I've said this before but, I don't think this is the new iPhone. I think it's a new iPod touch. It's just too thin I think it even be a phone. Plus the dual flash is gone, unless they've somehow figured that out to be smaller too.

----------

Surprised on annouce day? Both iphone 4 and 5 design got leaked and the 3G was leaked in a similar fashion to the real device months before their reveal.

Yeah. He means BACK in the day. Like before the iPhone.

Can apple just please make the phone thinner? Like remove the battery so it can be thinner!

Man, I hope they find some sort of a miracle to maybe invent some awesome battery tech. With a phone that thin, seems like battery life is not going to be any better. (Seems, and I'm open for correction if it is indeed possible given the current battery tech we have)

Tooooooooooo big.
At this rate, the iPhone 7 will come with a chain necklace so the user can hang it at chest level and type with 10 fingers while walking slowly and blocking a sidewalk.

The $100 increase rumor is laughable... Not gonna happen.

Same with this 5.5" delayed iPhone. If it's not being released or at least announced alongside the 4.7" one this fall, you'll be waiting a full year for it guaranteed.

I agree with that 100%. I could see the 5.5" iPhone if its real being announced the same time as the 4.7" iPhone and shipping a couple weeks or a month after the 4.7" version. Just so they can spread the launches out.

I think it's possible they they will keep a 4" version as well, but it guess we haven't heard anything to that effect either. Personally, I like the idea of a larger iPhone, but not 5.5"! Couple of my friends just got Galaxy Note 2s, and wow, they are big.

So much for the bezel-free screen

That would have felt thoroughly modern.

Honestly it just looks like a squashed phone.

Perhaps but by the same token, we saw too many bent iPhone 5 threads, so evidently they didn't think too hard on this issue (at least with the iPhone 5)

Please define "too many" for me. And how are any of those complaints qualified? If John Doe puts his iPhone in his back pocket and sits hard on a curved chair, is it the iPhone's fault? Have the engineers failed?

I haven't seen any examples of a bent iPhone where the user wasn't at fault.

Accidents happen, yes, but part of life is accepting responsibility for the accidents you cause. People just need to take care of their possessions.

Dissapointing if true

Unless there is some new design element that can't be extrapolated from the mold or CAD drawings that are being leaked, this is a very definite disappointment for the iPhone 6.

This is a 2+ year old design first introduced by the iPod Touch and then adopted by the iPad product a little bit later.

No FLAGSHIP product should adopt the style and design of an older product, not from 2 years ago.

Even if this thing is covered in sapphire, it's still an iPod Touch clone, not a premium $800+ phone.

What I am seeing here, if true, is Apple opting for a cheaper manufacturing process in order to keep their profit margin high while the components in the phone get more expensive, that is, they are marginalizing DESIGN for PROFIT.

This is not the Apple that Steve Jobs created.

Apple has always been about cutting edge design, even releasing something with less power or complexity in order to disrupt the market with something no consumer has ever seen before.

I hope there is something that we haven't seen yet that makes this design stand out, but so far the only "news" about the iPhone 6 is a 2 year old case design, and different screen sizes.

someone is going to create a fake mockup which twice thinner and macrumors will jump into the rumor again

since when a mockup without any component is a reliable info ?

Newer LEDs with a fuller color spectrum? Or they're correcting for color casts in software?

Maybe both?

Beyond my knowledge to even speculate. But from a design perspective a circle for a light as a smaller circle for the camera, which matches the circles for the power button and the front camera all works a bit better. I agree that I don't think Apple is going to decrease function delivered by the current dual LEDs. Which, in my opinion, don't look great.

i wish they'd find a use for the dead space to the left and right of the home screen and the ear piece. notification areas...maybe.

Does this mockup have the correct proportions? It looks simply like an elongated iPhone 5c?

I thought the rumoured 4.7" iPhone 6 was to be a bit wider as well as longer.
In any event, hoping the final product will have a bit more refined finishing (still love the chamfered edges despite it being prone to scratches).

This mockup is ridiculously long for the screen size. Trimming the top and bottom bezel would make it much more front pocket friendly.

So its going to be :

Thiner
Faster
Larger
More Expensive.

as long as they damn well increase the battery life to cope with the bigger screen area, and dont just say "8hrs is all most people NEED" like they seem to have with the last 6 phones [3G,3GS,4,4S,5,5S) (only the 1st gen had a decent battery life, my 1st gen still gets 2-3 days on a single charge and is still in use by my mother)

definitely a worse battery, my iPhone 5 is an absolute joke. has been since day 1. had to replace the battery after just 1 year of use.

I agree this is not a premium looking phone (granted it's a rumour and a mockup). However, one might argue this simple design is a welcome departure from Apple's sometimes form over function approach.

I love all the design concerns...it's almost as if Apple doesn't have one of the world's leading industrial designers on its payroll. And it's almost as if these same people won't be raving about the design once the phone is released.

This is like a 7 year cycle now?

Might be an argument if iPhone sales were in decline or even flat, but they are not. If you didn't hear the news last week Apple posted record Q1 revenue on strong iPhone sales.

Most of that growth was oversees. MR has beaten the whole marketshare issue to death, but it's a meaningless stat vis a vis free and discounted Androids.
...

The recent stats released by a researcher show Apple doing the best in Japan .... and guess how much the iPhone 5s is in Japan (since last year)? $0 with contract.
