The battery is on par with the iPad Mini as far as I can tell, perhaps a little worse at times.

It's definitely the best iPhone battery yet, it can survive a long day of regular use and the percentages seem to be more accurate than previous models in terms of how much battery is left. I'd say about 10 hours of use seems about right. I watch a lot of videos, text, and browse a lot and I've gotten about that much use.

You cropped out the bottom part that shows what used the most battery. Why not post the whole image so we can see what was used most to get that battery life? It's really not that hard to understand. You obviously cropped the photo, just post it again without cropping.

Sure thing sport.

Any other requests champ?

Here's my battery usage for today. Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed. Reviewers have been raving about how you can go for up to two and a half days of using the 6 Plus. But by the evening, my battery was almost completely drained. This is with the phone on standby most of the time. And most of my usage was with light web browsing (eg. Macrumors forums), and no more than 15-20 minutes of HD video streaming on YouTube. Most other activities were accessing social media like Facebook and Instagram, other miscellaneous Google searches, and maybe three Google Maps uses to get directions, that involved using location services for maybe less than five minute total.

Overall, I certainly wouldn't say the battery life is bad, but based on what reviewers have said, I expected better.

Also, anyone having trouble uploading images via their iPhone to Macrumors? I had to connect to my computer and upload it through the desktop version of the site.

I'm getting the same with almost identical usage as you. Apple sent me a replacement, which will be here tomorrow. Hopefully it's just bad luck.

Also, image uploads in Safari are broken under iOS 8. 8.0.1 had a fix for this, but, well... you know.

Ran my phone down last night until it refused to turn back on. Charged it all the way up. Going to see how it does today.

I turned the Parallax effect back off after using it a day or so. That is a huge drainer. I do like that we can now tell location services whether to give apps gps access always / never / or while using the app, the latter meaning it can be used but won't drain battery while not active. I also set all my email to fetch rather than push and manage background app usage too. As the iPhone has grown in capability and we've downloaded so many more apps that use various api's to integrate with the other parts of the phone, we also tax our batteries way more for all that stuff that we don't know our phone is doing while we're not even using it. But iOS 8 gives us more control over those items.

Phenomenal battery!

You can't simply show the top of that battery screenshot. Without showing the actual apps that were in use, this is useless information. The 6+ could play a pre-recorded audio podcast for 80 hours and be down to 1%. However, a 12 hours of internet usage and the battery would be dead.

lol, I see other people have already called others out on this already.

lol, here's another. Staring at your home screen and the messaging program aren't really battery intensive tasks.

It's a great battery but give me a break on some of these.

Are people really calling people out for how they use their phones now? The thread was about battery life in general, not "battery life according to kovey" Should there be a separate thread where people follow your exact guidelines for battery use? Not everyone's "real world" battery life is going to be the same.

Yeah it's ridiculous.

Interesting. Did you just tell Apple you felt you had a defective battery?

Battery life seems to have improved today after I deleted Swarm, switched all my email accounts to fetch, and disabled a few notifications and background processes. I'll see if battery life improves with any significance over the next few days.

I have both the 6 and 6 Plus here and am happily getting nicer battery life out of the Plus with same use and running tests at same time, etc. As they drain down, this difference becomes more pronounced.

Calls, texts, maybe 4 hours streaming Spotify, Web surfing, tinder. Impressed

I'm curious about when everyone is charging their Plus. I've had mine since Sunday and have only had to charge it two maybe three times I think. One of those I was only at 37% when I plugged it in.

I have also yet to see the Batter Life tip thing on my phone, most of them have been enable auto brightness. Is there a setting to turn those tips on?

I use the shot out of my phone. It is connected to my work email so it is constanly being used. I also read and watch movies (streaming) on the bus to and from work. Lots of calls throughout the day. I browse a ton too during breaks.

That said I got home last night with my battery at 30% and 7 hours of usage. That is easily double what I used to get for my 5s - I constantly had that thing plugged in. Very happy with the 6+ so far.

I got great battery usage as well (didn't take a pic), but it was like 7 hours usage LTE at 35%.

If you're surprised that you're getting double the usage time, consider this, the battery has been doubled in the plus phone.

iPhone 6 Plus real world battery life

I'm getting more than double the use time. I unplugged my phone at 98% on Wednesday at 3 pm, and I'm now currently at 28% remaining without any charges in between. My 5S would have been dead yesterday morning at best.
