Same here and that was wearing CK jeans sz 31 relaxed fit which are still slightly more on the tight side than most jeans. And then tried it with Adidas workout pants which definitely don't have deep pockets, both were fine.

The issue is, it's a paper template. It doesn't covey the sense of weight or inability to bend. A paper template is great - until it's made of glass & metal and is jabbing your thigh while you're sitting at dinner.

It's a shame you can't get loaners for like a month, just so everyone could get a feel for these huge phones. Best of luck in your purchases everyone!

Agree.
Then I made a cardboard one and was even MORE concerned about the 5.5

Highly recommend everyone try out a cardboard template at least.

I made a cardboard cutout. Granted its not as thick as a real 6+ but its rigid.

It fits just fine in my size 30 slim fit dress pants, although it is cutting it very very close.

I may be going caseless.

I guess everyone has a higher tolerance for a 6.5" long rigid piece of metal and glass in their pocket than I do.

Just walking around with the cardboard template (which is super light) was annoying due to the length of something rigid - to say nothing of actually sitting down, etc.

I watched a few hands-on videos. unfortunately, it would have killed any of the journalists to slip in inside a pocket or hold it up to their ear so i could have a sense of how uncomfortable i will be and how ridiculous i could look. instead they spent all their time proving they paid attention to the event by repeating as much of it as they could manage. annoying.

I did the template and doubled up the cardboard to represent the thickness. The 5.5 is definitely bigger, but that's expected. Still not sure what to go with. I do know it will be Space Gray with 128gb of storage.

I tried it with a cardboard paper. The width isn't the problem. It seems as though the height is the issue. When I sit down and lean forward slightly (my position when Im typing. Straight back posture of course! :p) the top of the phone presses into my skin.

This is a concern indeed. But i do want a bigger screen :(

Thanks for sharing this..

I just cut them out and used some cardboard to get an idea of what it would be like. For some reason i thought it would only be a little smaller than my mini . But its not, its a lot smaller and seems very manageable. The 4.7 is just barely bigger than the current 5 (seems like), basically almost unnoticeable in jeans just like current phone. All else can change once in the hand.

Think im swaying to the 5.5 now

I did the exact same thing and came to the same conclusion. I really thought I had made up my mind on the 4.7 but when I saw how barely noticeably larger the 4.7 was to my iPhone 5 and the the 5.5 will actually fit in a shirt pocket I'm now going with the plus. Have to live with this for 2 years and I think the bigger screen real estate will be welcome for my eyesight.

Thanks to the person that posted the template!!

I didn't have a problem holding the note with one hand, and I have small hands ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410379695.580223.jpg

Think I might order the 4.7 then go to my Apple store for 9:30 and if not a too big queue buy a 5.5. Send one back. Thank The Lord for credit cards!

Female here.... It's not the width, it's the height that's at issue (IMO). It's really tall.

I wear mine in the back pocket of my jeans when at the dog park, walking dog, and most all times I'm wearing jeans. Around the house, gardening. Um.... gosh. I'm wearing old Levi's right now and it sticks up above the pocket an inch.

I think the size is an issue in relation to how you carry it, not the size itself? I cannot fathom how men would wear it in their front pocket. Damnit, IDK what to do. 5" would've been Goldilocks

I tend to agree with you and am still planning on the 4.7. That said I can just about fit my Kindle Paperwhite into my suit trousers. Still think the 5.5 is too big. This us a phone we're talking about. It needs to be portable and useable as such. I mean the current iPhone 5s is perfectly fine. Anything bigger needs consideration. I guess that's why we're here!

It's funny you say that about the 6 plus. After hearing consistent rumors about the 2 sizes, I went to the mall (about a month ago) and held a Note 3 in my hand. It is too big for me; I didn't like the size. Also, I feel 4.7" is not big enough. For my tastes, the Goldilock's size is 5.0-5.2" max. I held the HTC M8 and loved the size and feel. If it had a fingerprint scanner, I'd already own it. I prefer it over the S5 so I'm now going to wait for the new HTC M9 in early '15. I have an i5 right now. Sorry to be leaving Apple.

I'm not sure which size I'm going to go with. I reckon the 6plus. I like the idea of a bigger screen.
Like someone else here I'm also a photographer and reckon it'll be helpful out in the field with clients.
I'm going to have to do the cardboard and print out thing first though.

How important is the IOS camera stability in the plus? is it a gimmick or better and close to what some actual point and shoots/lens have?

The keynote showed a clip on using OIS and yes it would so much of a difference when vacationing and not having to drag my dslr or camcorder and shakes be gone!
